Does anyone have advice on how to stop blood vessels in my eyes from popping when I wear contacts?

I rarely wear daily contacts, but I finally put them in today after six months off. I only had them in for about two hours, but once I took them out, I saw a red spot—a burst capillary. To be fair, I think it might have happened because I rubbed my eyelid right after removing the lens. My doctor claims it wasn't the contact itself, just the rubbing. It’s possible, but I rub my eyes all the time and this has never happened before, so I suspect it was a combination of the lenses and the rubbing.

Alright, I'll try to stop rubbing. My doctor suggested taking Vitamin C, so I'll start doing that. Any other tips? I'm really hoping to switch to wearing contacts every day this summer.

I have some Visine and Bepanthen on hand. Would it be smart to apply those before putting my lenses in? Also, what kind of drops would you recommend for refreshing my eyes while the contacts are actually in?

Realizing now that I'm in the wrong thread.🤦 There's another thread about burst capillaries, but it's even shorter.😳

I have one more "dumb" question regarding prevention. For example, those Visine drops constrict the blood vessels to make the whites of the eyes look clearer. Do those decongestant drops increase or decrease the risk of a vessel popping? I always assumed that using those drops alongside contacts might increase the risk, but maybe it's the opposite.🤷

Are there actually any mini printers designed for a PC, or are those tiny ones strictly for phones?

I need one that can connect via USB to my computer.

edit: Actually, now that I'm looking closer, I spotted something on AliExpress. It looks like this might work.

My main goal is just printing out some barcodes.

🤣 You're always good in my book. 😁

Back to the topic of the day: I refuse to play like that! 🙂

Any tips on where I can grab any song in MP3 format for free on my desktop?

I can't bring myself to use those YouTube converters anymore; I just don't trust them. The one I used to rely on keeps cutting my songs short.

So, what’s the verdict on Acer monitors regarding build quality?

I've got my eye on this specific one.

Quick follow-up question: I’m currently using a replacement monitor my IT guy lent me until I get a new one, but it’s acting up. I can't tell if it's a cable issue or something else, but whenever I record audio, there's this constant buzzing—like static electricity—right in the recording. I really don't want to buy a new monitor only to run into the exact same interference. I tried unplugging every extra cable I could find to troubleshoot, but honestly, it's just some ancient piece of tech.

EDIT: I couldn't wait any longer for replies. 😁
I went ahead and ordered that Dell from the first link.

It's actually bothering me how a monitor can just die after only three and a half years. I'm praying it's just a quick fix and not something that forces me to drag it all the way to a repair shop. 🤦
The IT specialist who came over to check it out initially thought the PC was the culprit since there was no signal coming through, but then he complained that the monitor wouldn't even let him navigate the menus. Once he plugged his own monitor into the computer, we realized the PC was fine—everything displays perfectly on his screen. It's definitely the monitor.

I urgently need a new monitor for my NUC.

I'm honestly terrified of buying another Dell. I was so disappointed with my last one, and the Philips model I had my eye on isn't even in stock right now.

I'm looking for a 21.5-inch screen, and since it's for a NUC, it definitely needs an HDMI port.

My old Dell just gave up the ghost yesterday. It only lasted three years! To make matters worse, the screen had been flickering intermittently all year. And I paid a ridiculous $245 for it, too.
My previous Philips lasted me a solid 15 years.

What's your take on this Dell model?

I really wanted to grab this Philips instead, but I can't afford to wait that long.

I’m considering having it removed via electrocoagulation.

Are there any specific reasons why someone wouldn't recommend electrocoagulation in that particular area? Thanks!

Got it taken care of today. 🎉
The doctor told me the location doesn't matter at all since it's just a tiny spot.

There's a massive spike in hospitalizations for kids under 5.

True, but that sounds like it applies to everyone infected, not just those dealing with the unknown variant.

I don't really follow the news closely enough to know how many people have the delta strain versus the unknown one. My guess? The unknown one accounts for much less. 🤔

Honestly, those ultra-liberal folks over there are going to be the death of us with how much they love loosening up all the restrictions

What makes you say that?
If Omicron turns out to be a milder variant, it’s actually the exact opposite.

Since it spreads way faster, it should burn through the Delta variant—which isn't exactly great news either—and lead us toward the end of the pandemic, or maybe even the end of it entirely. That is, provided they don't intentionally block it like they're doing now.

It looks like the vaccine is actually doing its job, though; 87% of the people hitting the hospital aren't vaccinated,

But isn't the vaccination rate pretty low over there anyway? Like, maybe around 20%?

Yeah, true, sometimes things hang up, but I wouldn't sweat the drive itself—just be careful not to wreck the port on your laptop or desktop if you're constantly swapping it in and out. Best bet is to just leave it plugged in or use a USB hub.

Thanks... man, now I'm really regretting not getting the other one

I gave it another shot and it worked a bit better once I realized I didn't need to force it in so hard. 😁

But I can't just leave it plugged in all the time; there are way too many wires. 😁

So, I picked up a Gemalto reader at CVS

$40, there was also one for $90, but I passed because it came with some weird mini CD

I absolutely hate it when things feel tight going into the USB port—it always makes me think the build quality is cheap, and I get paranoid about damaging the port. One of my old flash drives actually trashed a port once, so I'm always cautious

I really didn't expect this much resistance from the more expensive model

Well, I won't be using it constantly, so I guess it'll be fine, but I'm honestly pretty disappointed

Can anyone recommend a decent card reader for my $33?
Are they all pretty much the same? 😳

Also, can I plug a USB 3.0 reader into a USB 2.0 hub?

Do all Nedis products still come with a CD included?

And honestly, do I even need that disc? My desktop doesn't even have a drive.
