You should probably just head back to the Reddit. 🙂 Or go ahead and open a new complaint specifically about me if you want.
The topic here was regarding our colleague Nicole James, and we've already settled it.
It would have been much smarter if you had just stayed on this. 😢 Peace
rowdyhawk10 said:Fine, let's just say I am. Are you finally planning on coming back to Reddit? 🙂

For first graders.
Once you and ruggedwolf finally wrap your heads around what’s actually written there, let me know.
P.S. The blue text represents links you should click on, and then you can read whatever pops up after that. Thanks.[/I]
Man, brother... listen.
Look, get this straight. Nobody is claiming it’s actually permitted. No one is saying it isn't a sin, either. We're simply stating that it doesn't result in leaving Islam—and honestly, we settled that debate a long time ago, didn't we? Semek already laid it out. [Link] Straight from the official Islamic Community of America website. Here it is: A Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim is considered a major sin, though it doesn't technically take her out of the faith. So, I suppose her prayers, fasting, and other good deeds would still be valid...This discussion really should have ended already. I guess there isn't much point in dragging it out further. You might want to remember that you're in the same position yourself. Here. He actually wrote that he was mistaken?!?! 🙄 It was quite nice of you to say that back then.
And one more thing. FMN wasn't banned because of ruggedwolf, I swear to God! It was actually because of what he said to Salaf: I’d honestly be happy to take a three-day ban... because I’ll just tell you exactly what you are—a complete idiot, a total jerk, and so on. So go ahead, ban me now. I'm not entirely sure exactly what he said or what kind of insults he threw out there. But apparently, that's why he got banned, rather than for citing Quranic Verse 4.141. Personally, I feel like he only cost us about 30 points. Honestly, the world wouldn't have ended, and FMN could have just kept posting on Reddit.
Dervish, I swear by whatever you hold most dear, please don't let these trolls get to you anymore. You were so kind yesterday, checking in on me, Nicole James, and everyone else. Kenneth Peterson5 was absolutely thrilled, and honestly, I was too. I suspect you were feeling pretty good about it as well. A lot of us felt that sense of connection. So why go back to this? Why would you let a few trolls slide into your DMs and manipulate you into thinking you somehow "betrayed" the cause? I suppose one might wonder when exactly what you accomplished yesterday actually counted as a true victory. Can we please go back to yesterday’s decision? It seems like a lot of people are getting emotional over this. You should really get back to discussing Religion with everyone else; I guess this isn't the only thing Islam has to offer. Keep fighting the good fight. Maybe try reaching out to ruggedwolf in a private message to clear the air? Connect with the Sunnah again. Listen to what Bradley Davis33 has to say. We need to breathe some life back into the Techie community. Let's stand up against those who want to undermine us and enrich Islam-114. There are so many topics waiting for answers. Just... maybe don't keep going down that path with ruggedwolf. Perhaps you two just aren't seeing eye to eye. Please come back to the Reddit community; it's becoming far too costly otherwise. Is our community really meant to be destroyed like this? What is the actual price of that? Peace.

Using that relentless "Monty Python" style logic, Dervish is actually trying to convince us in this thread that verse 4:141 proves some kind of "falling out of Islam." It’s obvious to any sane person that the verse in no way — not even in the most abstract possible combinations — refers to a Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim. Even Monty Python couldn't make a stretch that ridiculous. But apparently, that's where FMN and Dervish are headed.
ruggedwolf said:But it’s not like that—it doesn't mean someone is kicked out of the faith—and I was actually just searching through everything to find exactly where it says that. That specific Quranic Verse isn't talking about being expelled from the religion. It's like how drinking alcohol is forbidden; sure, if you drink it, you're committing a sin, but you haven't left the faith unless you actually start claiming that sin is permissible. Even the official stance from the Islamic Community here in the States—which I quoted earlier—makes it clear that one isn't cast out of the religion.Exactly—your reaction to sensitive Shady was what triggered that doubt regarding the FMN response, which basically means you led him astray in a way, and that’s why I had to give you a warning. Honestly, I just hope you finally grasp the point I'm trying to make here.
Just give yourself a break—seriously, go easy on yourself. It’s honestly wild how you just pin everything on someone else; I guess that’s always the easiest way out.
Here’s how things went down:
You’ve been constantly accusing me, claiming that FMN got banned because of me—which just isn't true.
You accused me of derailing the conversation, which is just flat-out wrong—if anything, you’re the one who took us off track here. We ended up talking about interfaith marriages only because you were the one who challenged me back on that Islam 114 thread, basically daring me to prove how good I was at debating. It’s way too easy to downplay how serious a commandment actually is—you can basically take a major sin and spin it until it looks like nothing more than a minor religious oversight. After that, I mentioned to you that Koby had started a new thread about interfaith marriages, so maybe you could give that a shot.
Since you basically folded in your very first post when you realized there was no way to actually prove your point, you just pivoted the whole conversation toward weighing sins—and then you went ahead and started equating a woman marrying outside the faith with a murderer or someone committing shirk.
You accused me of being the one who derailed the thread—seriously? Just take a second to look at my posts, then look at yours, and actually compare them. Don't go pinning someone else's garbage on me just because they're the ones leaving it all over the place.
So, this guy boldgull19 is chiming in with this whole argument—claiming that a woman married to a non-Muslim is somehow worse than a murderer. He’s actually going as far as to say she’s spiritually murdering her own children... as if you can’t lead a spiritually vibrant life unless you happen to be Muslim. It’s wild, really. And the kicker? He doesn't seem to notice his own spiritual emptiness while he's busy judging everyone else—all while claiming to be a devout Muslim himself.
After I’ve spent God knows how many times asking for actual proof—you know, just a shred of logic—this person tries to cover up their total lack of an argument by throwing personal insults my way. They actually called me a half-believer just because I refuse to go around kicking people out of the faith. It's honestly exhausting when people resort to that instead of actually addressing the point.
I’m just going to skip over all the chauvinistic comments for now. Besides, he’s insulting both me and Bradley Davis33—even though she didn't even address him directly.
And you actually sided with him after he got banned for those kinds of insults and trolling—both in the thread itself and in his formal appeal. Yet, here you are, filing an appeal because you think insults toward other users should be allowed. Honestly, I have to hand it to you... that is some world-class hypocrisy right there.
After the Sunnah community chimed in—totally shocked by what they found written there—she responded in pure disbelief, pointing out that she’s actually married to a Catholic. And honestly? Not a single soul had the decency to apologize for misidentifying her as a killer. Instead, people were busy telling her she’d committed a sin even worse than physical murder—claiming she’s spiritually killing her children and living in sin, and just going on and on like that. Not a single apology. None.
" It’s better to tear down a church than to break someone’s heart "
Here is how she operates:
among other things, she says I wouldn't want to be in your shoes (once the consequences finally catch up to you)
After this lady got banned—and we're talking about comments that even Yazid would have been jealous of—you suddenly start feeling bad for her because she was kicked off the platform? So now you're sympathizing with her just because of the ban? Why the sudden change of heart?
You guys accused me before God—you mocked me, saying how God would humiliate me even further (as if I wasn't already humiliated enough by you all, and acting like you won't even talk to me anymore just so you don't have to deal with more humiliation) —and you called me a hypocrite, a half-believer (which, since you can't really be a "half-believer," basically means you were calling me an infidel). All of this just because I refused to label anyone else as an unbeliever! Look, Islam isn't your private property to gatekeep, and you certainly don't have the authority to excommunicate people from the faith—especially not someone who identifies as a Muslim.
The sheer arrogance and condescension you displayed! The insults, the mockery, the way you laughed right in my face! Where do you get the right to cast someone out of the faith? You act so incredibly superior, as if you possess some flawless moral high ground that gives you the permission to point fingers at everyone else's sins and exile them from Islam. Oh, I see—you're all "better" than the rest of us now, aren't you? Entitled to look down on those you deem "worse" and declare them non-believers!
Then, a few days later, over on the Islam 114 thread, you come after me again, calling me a hypocrite and a half-believer. Well, it took me a moment to realize that you were actually using that Quranic Verse to imply I was being a hypocrite—so, thanks for that.
I just want to tell you one thing. I am not what you claim I am. And that poor girl following the Sunnah isn't what you labeled her either. None of the things you said about her or me were actually true.
But you certainly said a lot about yourselves.
ruggedwolf said:Look, I'm just asking if you could bring him along, if that’s even possible. And I should probably mention that his reaction actually caused someone on Reddit to wonder—to put it bluntly—if the guy had finally lost his mind. Seriously, by handling the moderation that way, he’s basically cast doubt on another user's mental stability in the eyes of the rest of us.
Which user are you actually talking about? Since you’ve gone ahead and suggested that someone might be having some mental health struggles—which is a pretty heavy thing to drop into a conversation—it would probably be fair to specify who exactly you mean. I mean, maybe they have no clue anyone even thinks that about them, and then they turn around and start complaining about the very thing being said... wouldn't it be better to just call it out directly? That way, they actually get a chance to respond to the accusation, right?Defending my position—even though I know I'm wrong—
What kind of wrong attitude is that?
Nicole James said:I honestly regret not just locking this thread the moment it devolved into this endless back-and-forth regarding gay rights versus opposition to them.
Regarding the bans—if I recall correctly—I was actually quite lenient with the more extreme stances taken by the anti-gay side; what I actually stepped in to ban were the threats of violence, the truly horrific insults, and similar behavior. I think the core issue here is that Tyler Scott3 and Lisa Ortiz2 accused me of taking sides, and they both ended up getting flagged for trolling because of it. Both of them have been around this Reddit community for a long time, and frankly, they should have learned by now that if you have an issue with how a moderator handles things, you don't vent about it within the threads—you use the official grievance process.
If anyone thinks the state of this forum is ideal, they couldn't be further from the truth. The Religion sub is massive and incredibly volatile; Danaye and Blaise haven't been active for quite a while, and Scat has so much on his plate that he can't always get to everything. I try to step in whenever my personal life allows, but I simply don't have the bandwidth or the energy to meticulously comb through every single post. Most of the moderation happens reactively as reports come in, which is far from an ideal system. To be honest, I don't know how to fix all of this right now, but I do know that putting this kind of pressure on those of us still trying to keep this place alive isn't helping anyone.
Give me a break with all this nonsense.
Does anyone here actually believe in spirits or souls?
Anyone?
It's just endless arguing over things you can't even grasp.
And if I asked you religious types how much you actually help your neighbors...
Do you really think showing up to church on Sunday is enough to cover all your bases? Pathetic.
Anyway, you should probably check your conscience first.
Because conscience is where the spirit, soul, and body meet.
Second question:
If there’s such a thing as a soul, how does a soul actually know it exists?
