I won't beat around the bush. Nicole James acts as a moderator on the Religion board and on http://this thread, and she's being incredibly biased.

On this link, she shared her opinion just like any other user, but over here, her language as a moderator is pretty questionable.

To be honest, I don't see who should be getting banned in this case. Do you seriously think it's worse to point out how problematic someone is than to brag about how you killed people and that you're proud of it? 😕

Look, I totally get why you're all revolting. There’s been a string of injustices, mostly coming from that moderator rowdyhawk10—which really hit a breaking point when he banned Black & White. But honestly, wasn't it enough to just tell that moderator you're done talking to him because, frankly, he isn't worth your time? At least, that's how I handled it.

It may turn out that he isn't actually biased. We are all human and prone to mistakes, so I suppose it’s quite easy for an error to slip in with him, just as it does with me or anyone else... but fundamentally, I don't think he's being subjective.

The first link isn't really an issue since it just addresses the state of society. As for the second one, I feel like it doesn't really break any of the long-standing boundaries we have here on Reddit. Maybe there’s room for some mild criticism—I suppose a moderator should probably maintain a higher level of seriousness and avoid that kind of tone—but that isn't quite enough reason to put someone on public trial. Unfortunately, that seems to have become almost standard practice on this forum. If we actually sanctioned every single post like that, I imagine this place would easily shrink down to about 200 members.

So? 🙄 We aren't on... www.catholics.orgI guess it's either this, or that. www.muslim.com Or on similar sites. A lot of things posted in the "Religion" subreddit could be seen as offensive to various faiths, believers, or churches... but we can't exactly police opinions. If we started sanctioning everything that an individual believer didn't like, this Reddit would probably die within three days. Or it would turn into some sort of church or mosque... where the clergy would just get a standing ovation for everything they say. Our community isn't built like that. And thank God it isn't. People really ought to listen to Kenneth Peterson5. I mean... Tyler Scott3, boldgull19, and Scott Nguyen2 should probably take his lead. As for that fourth guy—ruggedstag7, the one who identifies as Black & White—he's finished his time on this Reddit, at least from my perspective. Whether he decides to post here again is really the least of anyone's concerns.

We have provided Tyler Scott3 with more than enough explanation regarding where his judgments fall short and why his expectations lack any real foundation. Boldgull19 will return once Tyler Scott3 returns. Why shouldn't I step in to defend a colleague facing what seem to be several mostly baseless accusations? This is a Reddit thread, after all. I was simply trying to explain that you might be mistaken and that it would be better if you stayed on the platform, since we can't exactly redesign the entire Religion PDF to satisfy everyone's specific preferences. Everyone has their own opinions, I suppose. We tried to establish some order and find a middle ground through the community guidelines. It seems more productive to stay and suggest new rules, doesn't it? 🙂

Fine, let me apologize to you instead—I apologize for wasting three years of my life on this site, which has gone from being a promising community to one filled with hypocrisy. I have no desire to write on a place like this. My demand for an apology isn't really about that; it's an appeal for you, as the owner, to take the first step toward fixing the relationship between the users and the administration. The current staff can't do it because they're all too busy chasing their own careers.
Because if you, the owner, don't care about improving these relationships, why should we? We have to be here regardless, and we do it with our heads down because we respect the rules and the authority of this place. But honestly, I just don't have the motivation to contribute anymore. As things stand right now, I feel like a criminal on this site.

Look, please don't be lazy—just read through my signature a couple of times. If you actually wrap your heads around it (which I’m pretty sure you can), maybe ask yourselves why we’re still obsessing over every ugly thing that was said or done when there's so much beauty out there in the world?

I believe in God, but I don't claim any specific religion. That said, reading through different faiths, I've always been drawn to Islam. As far as I can tell, there’s just one Quran containing the thoughts and guidance of the Prophet Muhammad—who, from what I’ve gathered, was an incredibly humble and righteous man. His message is straightforward and easy to grasp, so I honestly don't get why you guys are constantly bickering or acting like you know better than what's actually written in the Quran. All you're doing is dragging down the image of Islam and all of you Muslims as a whole.
Instead of—all of you, collectively—showing off the wisdom within the Quran and proving how Islam is a single, universal path meant for everyone.

I get that back in the day, certain primitive groups might have interpreted the Quran differently, but in this day and age, at our current level of civilization, that shouldn't even be an issue anymore.

Sorry if I'm being blunt here, but hey, that’s just the take of someone who isn't part of a religion and is just watching from the sidelines.

I agree with most of you, but I truly believe we can fix everything just by staying active and participating here on Reddit, rather than leaving or trying to hide behind burner accounts. If I decided to boycott or stay silent, or if I put someone like Kate Phillips40 in "quarantine" while secretly posting under a fake name, I'd just be lying to myself. I’d much rather stand my ground using my one real username—even if people criticize me because they don't quite get 😁—because that feels more honest. It's better than pretending I stopped posting when I actually haven't. 🤷
Sure, there are moments of injustice and plenty of issues, but I think we can clear them up the same way they started: through conversation.
In this thread, Dervish criticized how Nicole James handles things, and others have pointed fingers at rowdyhawk10. Honestly, if the moderators are willing, it would be great if they stepped up here so we can clear the air. It looks like rowdyhawk10 is already open to making compromises, and I’m sure Nicole James will show up soon too. Plus, we have private messages, so if the mods messed up, let's just handle it privately.
I really miss Scott Nguyen2 and Dervish because your posts are what make this community what it is. Come back, everyone. Don't let anyone push you to the point where you give up after all this time.

I honestly wish Tyler Scott3, boldgull19, and Scott Nguyen2 would come back; I’m sure they know they should. As for me, I'll share my thoughts when the time comes, though I feel I already understand everything necessary. I suppose I have to learn how to learn in order to know what I know. And that is why I know. 😛 🤣 I'm feeling pretty exhausted tonight, so I can't really write much more. Maybe Nicole James and I will show up tomorrow (provided I don't head out on my trip). If I do leave, then, God willing, I'll be back the day after. Regardless, please don't let the Reddit community fall apart just because of some mistake of mine—or perhaps a few mistakes. You can see for yourselves that things aren't quite right there anymore. Perhaps ruggedstag7 could try using a luckier username... while still following the same recommendations I made previously. The goal should be building up rather than tearing down. We need to forget the past and start fresh, without falling back into those old habits. It might take a little longer to rebuild that trust, but I don't think it's impossible. For someone with a friendly disposition, it shouldn't be too difficult. Peace
