Solid choice! 👍
Eat Pray Love in Movies ·
It’s just your standard, run-of-the-mill chick flick—nothing groundbreaking, really—but hey, it’s not bad either. It's actually a pretty decent way to kill a Sunday afternoon if you're just looking to chill. 😁 If you're still craving those dreamy Italian vibes, you should probably check out Eat Pray Love instead.

Holly Hunter is incredible🙂. The movie works—it really nails that whole teenage rebellion vibe, and honestly, those feelings are way too easy to relate to. It does get a bit brutal in spots (that "hit me" sequence 😲 😁), but I guess some people think that’s just how reality looks, so whatever, let them have their 😉
. Maybe Americans are a step ahead of us in some ways, but I can't help feeling the title should have been something like *Fifteen* or something along those lines 😁. They cast older actresses, which is weird because when you're that age, even a two-year gap feels like an eternity.

I mean, I get where they're coming from—I kind of agree—but "low budget" doesn't automatically mean it's bad, right? 😉
For me, it was actually a pretty pleasant watch, even if I can't quite recall the specific plot points after a few days. It left me with this vague, fuzzy feeling—you know the one? Like, I knew I enjoyed it while it was happening, but once the credits rolled, that was about it. If you aren't looking for some life-altering masterpiece that’s going to fundamentally shift your worldview or whatever, then this is a perfectly solid pick. Honestly, there are way too many movies like this floating around anyway. The soundtrack, though? Pretty good.
Netflix or DVD? in Movies ·
If a movie actually looks promising, I’m definitely hitting up the theater. I rarely bother with DVDs anymore—besides, when I do watch stuff at home, it's usually on my computer anyway, so it doesn't really matter if it's a disc or just a high-quality Netflix stream.

Personally, I eat it, but I still think killing a donkey was just plain stupid.

I don't eat meat, but I'm not some militant vegetarian out there preaching at everyone who does. This whole thing he did—which he clearly thinks is some grand, transcendent gesture because "it was for the sake of art"—is honestly nauseating. You shouldn't kill a donkey, whether it's for fun or for "art." There’s absolutely no difference.
If he killed a donkey because he was starving and had nothing else to eat, 👍you'd say the film is his religion? So what, then anyone can just kill things? Does that mean if I belonged to a cult that required human sacrifices, it would be justified because it's my religion? Where do we draw the line? I'm sure Trier thinks it's all very cool—being totally beyond the reach of conventional morality, being progressive and uniquely himself, a "true artist" 🙄but how much of a decent human being he actually is... well, that's another story entirely.

Yeah, total idiot. 👎
I just wish we had a moderator who’d actually move this whole mess over to the Film section.

He tries to sprinkle in some "facts" or whatever insight he thinks he's providing in this article, but it's all just buried under such a thick, sticky layer of pure, unadulterated malice that you can barely even get through it without feeling gross. 🙄

So, care to actually back up those claims with a little bit of logic?

Noah Watson4 said:Alright... if you aren't really feeling the whole Wenders vibe, you can always settle for that mediocre remake called "Angel City."

Yeah, I mean, compared to the original it’s definitely a step down—but calling it a total remake is a stretch, isn't it? Especially since the plot in Heavens over Berlin actually heads in a completely different direction.
