dustycrane15 said:So I headed over to the specialist clinic in San Diego to see my pulmonologist—just a routine checkup and some lung imaging. I actually called them up around 2 PM, and get this, they squeezed me in that same day at 6 PM. They scanned my lungs (the results were ready in like three minutes flat) and the doctor was honestly just so incredibly kind. Top-tier service, really. It ended up costing me $100, but honestly? Totally worth it because I actually felt treated like a human being, which is more than I can say for my experience at the big municipal hospital.

p.s. And don't even get me started on comparing that to the pulmonology department over at the main city hospital under Dr. Miller (who is a total unprofessional nightmare). You sit there for four hours in a waiting room packed with viruses, and then you don't even get seen because Dr. Miller is supposedly "too busy" for anyone. To top it all off, she actually called my house just to push my appointment back by four days. Like, seriously? After that, I'm done—I’m going private from now on.

So, I dug up this old thread—probably feels a bit random, but hey, maybe it’ll help someone else down the road. I headed into the clinic today to get a chest X-ray, and honestly? I haven't encountered such a rude bunch of receptionists in a long time. And I mean *really* rude. One of them was fine, sure, but the rest? Even at a massive public hospital, you usually expect a modicum of decency, right? They told me my results would be ready in half an hour. Fast forward two hours of sitting there, and I finally gave up and tried coming back in the afternoon, only for one of those young ladies to snap at me, asking where I'd been all day. 🙄 It was honestly the last straw when I saw them snapping at some elderly folks. Apparently, even having money doesn't buy you basic manners these days.
The doctors themselves seem alright, though.
Sex is fine, but my OBGYN says no?! in Women's Health ·
amberheron64 said:my mom strictly forbids me from seeing a gynecologist
...
I'm 21 years old—and no, I'm not some clueless kid—but I am genuinely terrified of how she’ll react, and honestly? It's totally justified......

Your mom is actually trying to stop you from seeing a gynecologist? 😲 And you're 21? That's wild. You don't need her written permission to go to a doctor.
How does a man decide to become an OB-GYN? in Women's Health ·
Carol Rodriguez16 said:And honestly, I already knew it was going to get under my skin—being all dressed up and ready to go, only for him to start that whole "let me help you relax" routine? Yeah, right. He starts petting my thighs and slapping my butt like he’s some kind of zen master, but let me tell you... it didn't exactly have the relaxing effect he thought it would. Not even close. 🙄

😲 Honestly, I feel like I’d just give someone like that a good slap. Seriously, what even is that?

I once had a male OB-GYN, and honestly? He was fantastic. Truly professional, super knowledgeable, and he actually had a sense of humor—which, let’s be real, isn't always a given in those exam rooms. 👍
yeah, looks beautiful 😍
What's the best movie title ever? in Movies ·
Honestly, the funniest titles always belong to those low-budget adult parodies—you know, the ones poking fun at massive Hollywood blockbusters. 😂 I’m talking about stuff like *Shaving Ryan's Privates*, *Breast Side Story*, or *Schindler's Fist*.

The truly beautiful ones? They usually stem from book adaptations—think along the lines of *House of Sand and Fog*.

Here are a few of my personal favorites: *Paris, Texas*, *Silence of the Lambs*, *Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me*, *The Purple Rose of Cairo*, or even *Scent of a Woman*...

As for the worst? It’s gotta be the pretentious ones—stuff like *Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind*. 🙄
500 Days of Summer (2009) in Movies ·
It’s not exactly a masterpiece, but honestly? It’s pretty decent. I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff like this.
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Of course not.
We’ve touched on this before, yeah. As much as I love getting nostalgic for the era of chrome cassette tapes and recording stuff off indie radio stations—or basically paying some guy at a local Best Buy to burn you a CD with the new Radiohead album and whatever else $10—I honestly think things are way better now. 🙄 I mean,

It’s true, everything is right there, the selection is endless, but somehow we have way less time to actually sit down and listen to all the new stuff.
On the flip side, I’ve stumbled upon a massive pile of bands I didn't even know existed, and they aren't exactly new releases —they’re just gems that hit me personally, rather than being something my friend, or their sister, or some cousin living in the US, or any other "influencer" would tell me to listen to.

An album that hits home today? I'll probably listen to it xxx times until I know every single bit of static on the track, which feels just as rewarding as those cassettes from 10-15 years ago. At the end of the day, if you actually love music, you're going to listen to music.
There are so many bands out there and a constant flood of new albums, yet this year I can barely scrape together ten candidates for Album of the Year (which is a huge change from last year). 🤷

Whenever I make a playlist for someone, I usually go with a full album on an audio CD or a specific themed mix CD. I totally get the argument that having everything on an MP3 disc ruins the experience because you lose that sense of direction—you don't even know where to start.
If you actually have the discipline to manage how much new music you download, then digital tools just make enjoying it easier. But if you're the type who tries to download every single thing Pitchfork rates above a 7.0, well, that’s a much harder road to travel.
By the way, I don't see anything wrong with judging something after just one listen. In my experience, very few great albums are so bad on the first spin that they're worth writing off entirely.

All in all, digitalization 👍

Lou Reed - Perfect Day
Joy Division - Atmosphere

Oh, and I think it was King Crimson - In the Hall of the Crimson King... or something like that. Hard to remember exact titles, honestly..
Personal favorites? Probably Jane's Addiction - Three Days and Joy Division - Decades.

Though, let's be real—this category is probably dominated by some symphonic metal bands I've never even heard of.

Pretty decent. I'd say go for it👍

Totally. It was such a smooth show—just pure vibes 👍
Best Female Artists? in Music ·
No worries, I can definitely record all of that for you. And I’ll make sure to grab those old Hanica albums too 😁—honestly, they’re a perfect match for those headphones. You really should check out Azure Ray (plus Orenda Fink's solo stuff), maybe some Charlotte Martin, or even Alison Crowe 🤔

Man, I am so glad someone finally brought up Hannah Montana. She is absolutely incredible. There was this whole stretch of time where I was basically listening to Heavy Metal 😁 nonstop. Sadly, she just doesn't get nearly enough credit these days.
Honestly, if ambermoose6 😍 were to organize a girls' listening party,
it would be legendary.
Yeah, Dark Park—and I’m telling you again—*Process* is just... it's tragic. It’s this masterfully crafted album that somehow constantly gets overlooked (though I guess Dark Park fans appreciate it most). Honestly, if you aren't finding much to love with Candle or—let's be real—Cult, which is easily one of my favorite things in existence. Ever. 😢

But man, we've really drifted away from those old John Deere combines and all the other farmhands lately 😁
About Leonard Cohen in Music ·
So you're thinking about hitting the road with her
Going in totally blind, no map, no nothing
And you’re certain she's someone you can actually rely on
Because she’s already reached inside and connected with your very soul.

Wait, what exactly are you taking down from the Pope? 😲 That sounds borderline blasphemous... 🙂
Just take it easy, man—don't go rushing into things too fast. 😍

😲 Honestly, shame on you! Just keep your littleopinions to yourself, you loser. 😈vnv are basically gold medalists compared to most of those bands mentioned here. 🙂😘
Listen, slowpoke, just stick to eating your diet food and maybe you won't feel so left behind—though we all know how that goes.

You cynical jerk, even Batman couldn't save you if you keep talking trash about people from Jersey: 🙂
I’d honestly love to point you toward the darkroom, but it looks like they’ve (once again) throttled the bandwidth 😬—not that it matters much given how obsessed Americans are with horror music lately 😳

Anyway, this is still easily the best forum out there 😎

granitecrane said:I mean, what can you say? I don't know—it just feels like their music kept getting lighter and more depressing as time went on. Honestly, listening to them now, they sound totally exhausted.

Maybe that’s exactly why I dig it. 😬 No, seriously, this album is easily my favorite—it’s got that peak drama, and the arrangements and lyrics are just spot on.

He sounds just like Leonard Cohen already, and the songs feel more like spoken word poetry than actual tracks.

That’s exactly what does it for me. I’m not sure why people aren't really feeling it, but they definitely hit the mark with me.
