Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
For the last three months, I’ve been struggling with staying awake—I’m 30 years old
and I just feel constantly drowsy. It's reached a point where I can barely function or get through my workday; honestly, my eyes just shut themselves. If I close them for even ten seconds, I’m out. This has never happened to me before, it's really quite jarring.
It doesn't matter if I get eight hours of sleep or twelve—I am still exhausted all the time. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions??
My blood work came back normal, apparently. But I don't know... I just want to sleep constantly because of this fatigue. I can't get anything done.
St. John's Wort oil in Health ·
If anyone happens to be looking for—or even just interested in—some genuine, locally-made castor oil, feel free to reach out... I mean, seriously, this stuff is incredibly versatile and serves so many different purposes.
Anyone dealt with Chlamydia pneumoniae? in Health ·
Has anyone here ever actually gone through the process of getting bloodwork done specifically for Chlamydia pneumoniae? I’m trying to wrap my head around what a positive result actually signifies in terms of what's going on with the body

In women, it’s hard to catch because there are almost no clear indicators. In men, it usually shows up as burning during urination. We cleared it once with a round of antibiotics and haven't seen it since. We did follow-up tests a few times and they all came back negative. Get this sorted out immediately. Chlamydia can cause major issues if you plan on having children down the line. If you have a steady partner, they need to get tested too. There is a massive chance they are carrying it.
Good luck.

But I'm not talking about the kind of chlamydia caught via a vaginal swab; mine shows up through bloodwork. My vaginal swabs always come back negative. This feels more like some sort of respiratory issue, which is why I'm asking...

They pulled some blood work for me and it came back positive—though it doesn't specify the actual titer level. I'm trying to figure out how this is typically treated... has anyone here actually dealt with this? What kind of symptoms should I be looking out for?
Mole under my eye in Health ·
So, I’ve got this nasty bruising under my eye—looks like a total mess from getting hit a few days ago—and I was wondering what kind of ointment might help clear it up quickly? Also, does it actually make any sense to keep applying ice every single day at this stage?

In the end, it actually went out, but honestly, it was just the first installment—I was expecting a whole lot more, but it didn't really amount to much of anything special.

I might end up having two—if I can't make it, though—but I won't know for sure until Saturday, so just shoot me a DM then

Does early tumor detection rely heavily on a complete blood count? I mean, if those results come back looking perfectly normal, does that effectively rule out malignant diseases?
I’ve been dealing with these persistent issues for about a month now—elevated body temperature, headaches, aching in my arms and legs, muscle twitching, and even some numbness. I went to the hospital, but they couldn't find anything definitive; however, an MRI of my brain did reveal some scarring, suggesting I might have had encephalitis at some point in the past. One doctor suggested that all these current symptoms could actually be linked to that old brain damage, though another physician is arguing that isn't the case. Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with this, or perhaps some insight into whether these things are truly connected?
Brain MRI - a few questions about clinics in Health ·
Where would be the best place to go for a brain MRI—which private clinic should I look into in the greater Chicago area?
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
So, since I’ve been dealing with some ongoing health issues—and we all know how the dynamic between patients and doctors can be in public hospitals—does anyone have recommendations for a private clinic? I'm looking for somewhere I could potentially get everything handled, from seeing a neurologist to further follow-ups, within just a few days... and does anyone have any idea what kind of costs we're looking at here?

Also, does anyone happen to know an immunologist practicing privately in Washington, D.C., or anywhere else in the States??

thanks

Did you experience any actual head pain during the night while you were sleeping, or was it just constant? I mean—for me, the pain has been relentless for about a month and a half now... and honestly, I'm starting to get pretty scared about the whole thing.

When they first caught it, it was via CT, then a couple of days later they did an MRI. Then, a month after the initial surgery, another scan, and then six months down the line, they suspected a recurrence, so we had to do more testing. Now, I have yet another appointment in ten days just to follow up with the neurosurgeon.
The doctors told me I'll be heading in for an MRI twice a year for the rest of my life. 🙄

It isn't harmful—just read HERE to see the facts.

Did you experience any actual symptoms or issues beforehand? Like, constant headaches or something similar that prompted you to go in for imaging in the first place?

A doctor told me that once—but I suppose the question remains, why do you go there so often?

Does anyone actually know why they only recommend getting an MRI once a year if there’s no radiation involved? I mean—if it isn't ionizing—why the restriction?
Michael Newman3 said:Melissa Moore39, things don't necessarily have to stay as bleak as they seem at the start. About a year ago, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma—Stage IV, the final stage. After undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy and eight doses of Rituxan (a targeted therapy), the disease went into remission. Now, I’m just living my life normally, hoping it stays away, which is what my doctor expects will happen.
Just stay brave and keep a strong spirit while fighting this thing.

Thanks,

So, how exactly did your illness present itself? I mean, what kind of symptoms were you dealing with—was it multiple enlarged lymph nodes or something else entirely? And where did you go for treatment? Did you perhaps incorporate any other supplements or alternative medicine into your regimen?
So, my Mom went in for a head CT yesterday. We’re just sitting around waiting for the results now, but they didn't actually give her any contrast during the scan. I was wondering—do they only bother with the contrast if they already suspect things are looking bad? Or is there some other reason?
Does anyone here have experience dealing with him—or perhaps one of his loved ones—fighting a lymph node tumor? I am looking for any kind of advice, some comfort, or honestly, just anything at all at this point...
