We aren't opening new subforums just because we think it's a great idea; we're doing it because there's an influx of similar topics that logically belong in their own dedicated space. Everything you’re mentioning could easily fit under Pregnancy, Parenting, or women's health. I suppose the number of "signatures" won't really sway the final decision.
But isn't that exactly what I pointed out in my opening post?
And as for that
gentleman, I think it might have been more appropriate to issue a ban rather than just deleting his post...

I suppose jokka pointed out another vital detail that I neglected to mention: if we could just ease the burden on the primary medical staff, it might actually leave more room on both sides of the table for meaningful discussions and useful information.👍
Prompted by today’s discussion regarding the Green Party, specifically within the Pregnancy forum, I would like to formally urge the administrators to consider launching a dedicated sub-forum that truly captures the spirit of the Green Party—that is to say, one that functions as it ought to.
To be more specific, the Pregnancy forum currently hosts a section intended for women trying to conceive... there are many wonderful women in that space. Some have been trying for a short time, others much longer; some are dealing with specific diagnoses, while others are just beginning their diagnostic journey. The issue, however, is that the thread primarily functions as a general chat room.
I believe it is essential to separate those actively trying to conceive, especially since this involves such a specialized (if not strictly medical) field. Instead of constructive discussions focused on fertility issues, everything gets lumped together—pregnant women, elderly users, recipes, and general small talk. The core purpose of the thread has become diluted... and this all happens under the guise that the Green Party crowd is great for casual banter. 😁 I suppose I agree that the social aspect is pleasant, but my point remains: vital information gets buried, and many women who are actually trying to conceive don't even bother joining because, quite frankly, the current setup is a bit of a mess. 🤣
Specifically, establishing a new sub-forum would provide:
1. A general chat thread, similar to what we have now, where everyone can talk about whatever they like.
2. Dedicated space for specific topics, such as:
- IVF treatments
- Methods, techniques, and assistance in conceiving
- Various diagnostic tests
- Ovulation and tracking methods
- Different medications
- Various disorders
- Personal experiences
- Reviews of various institutions, clinics, and doctors
- Tracking cycles, pregnancy tests, and results
- Miscarriages
- And so on...
Up until now, all of this has been mixed into the Green Party threads or bundled entirely under Pregnancy along with topics like baby bumps, breastfeeding, strollers, and childbirth... basically everything. Meanwhile, those trying to conceive are directed to a chat thread where even I find myself lost, despite visiting every single day.
Well, I hope you might consider this request, or at least give it some thought... 🙂 thank you. 🙂

It felt kind of rushed and cheap to me, honestly. As for not living in San Diego, it shouldn't be a dealbreaker, you just have to go to your local parish where you're registered and ask for permission to marry at a different church. The priest will walk you through all the paperwork and whatever...
To be perfectly honest, that sounds completely unappealing to me. I think I would much rather select a different venue entirely than deal with a wedding that feels like it's being rushed through on an assembly line.🙄
Karen Cruz2 said:Honestly, if you want to marry there, just go for it. One girl showed up about six months ahead of time and the priest told her she was way too late... but she had some connections, so she pulled it off. Long story short: the sooner you act, the better.

Lotus, you see how things are going? Part of me actually wants to listen to you and wait until at least the eighth month. 🙂
Clearly, that’s not the smart move here...
🤷
Basically, just grab my Ford and head out to the coast 😂
Good grief.😲😲
There is certainly an interesting topic unfolding here... let me think... it seems quite a few women have been sharing their experiences regarding how priests consistently turned them away for arriving too early. Generally speaking, they seem to want everything documented within the first two or three months, but as you can see, there are plenty of exceptions to the rule. 😲😲
It is probably for the best if you don't take my word for it. 🤣🤣
Anonymous said:I feel the same way, honestly. I’m just terrified of sounding like I'm making excuses or saying that day won't work, especially since I've already booked everything else and put down deposits! 🤔
Perhaps you could try arriving earlier just to see how things look. When we arrived five months out, he suggested that since we were so early, we should really aim to come about a month before the big event.
Anonymous said:Oh, we can totally handle that part 😍
but seriously, do we really need to book the church right this second?
I was thinking we could just aim for 8:00, once he gets back home 🤷
That timing seems about right for a February celebration. If you show up any earlier, I suspect most of the clergy will just end up asking why you've arrived so early 😉
I suppose I should probably weigh in on this, though I’m not entirely certain if my perspective carries much weight here. It seems like we are circling back to the same fundamental questions, yet the conversation remains somewhat fragmented. Perhaps it is just my own tendency to overanalyze things, but I find myself wondering if we are truly addressing the core of the issue or simply reacting to the surface-level noise. It might be worth considering whether our current approach aligns with the broader trends we've been seeing across the country lately. I suspect that if we look closer at the data—much like how one might analyze market shifts in a major hub like New York City—we would see a pattern that isn't immediately obvious. I don't mean to sound overly cautious, but I think a more measured evaluation could prevent us from jumping to conclusions too prematurely. It is easy to get swept up in the momentum, but maybe a bit of deliberation wouldn't hurt. kaže:
Jerry Sanchez53 and I had actually reserved some guys from SoHo. They really made quite an impression on us and everything, but because my partner is a sailor—and because of those shady contracts he deals with—we ended up having to push our dates back. Now, unfortunately, they're already booked up.
I can certainly empathize with your situation regarding the sailor... we had everything finalized on our end, only to have to overhaul the entire plan at the last minute. What a headache.
Oh, don't worry about it—it’s really nothing to be upset over. I suppose there are plenty of other incredible photographers out there to find. 😉 I suppose you all really do have it rough when it comes to dealing with sailors. 😢
Jerry Sanchez53:
I find myself somewhat at odds with that perspective. Jerry Sanchez53 says: Well, yes, that’s true. As for my own sales figures... I find myself getting closer to the target every day. And, surprisingly enough, even my manager seems quite taken with the idea. 🤷I suppose we could arrange for the reception hall to be situated right next to the church, which would allow guests to congregate there immediately. We might consider organizing some cocktails and catering first, then move into the service, and finally head back to the hall. It seems like a reasonable plan to me, but I am curious to hear what everyone else thinks about it. The only thing left to do, I suppose, is find some time down the road to get together for a photo.... 😍 |
If you don't want your entire photo gallery to consist of nothing but shots taken in front of churches, then you really have to do this. 😉
It isn't really an issue; the guests can just stay behind and keep the drinks flowing while you take some photos and head back. Personally, I actually found the photography to be a decent little reprieve—a way to catch my breath and decompress from all the social intensity, the crowds, and the constant physical affection. 😁
Anonymous said:I’m totally out of the loop here... I’ve honestly never even heard of that... 😲
They aren't particularly well-known, to be honest; most people wouldn't even recognize them 😉
Anonymous said:Welcome to the madness 🤣
I'm in the exact same boat, but it looks like we managed to figure out when they'll be home sooner than expected 😍
Thanks for the links, I'll probably check them out tomorrow.
Jerry Sanchez53, I'm in the SO, so I'm not sure if the folks from Soho will actually be impressed by how interested I am, but shoot me a DM with the password 🤷
Actually, that Soho group is based out of San Diego 😉
As for me, I got married down south... not exactly in San Diego, but for instance, I had a live band playing, photographers from the city, balloons, decorations...😉
I'll send the password over via private message.
Anonymous said:Hey girls, do Matthews and Lisjak have some kind of online gallery or even just a basic website?
I mean, everyone keeps bringing them up, so I’m dying to know why 😍
Plus, that’s another thing I feel like I should probably book right at the start, don't you think? 🙂
Well, here you go, dear 😍
Here is Lisjak's site:
http://www.ivicalisjak.com/I'm not sure if you've noticed the photos in my signature? I used guys from Soho Studios once and they were wonderful—and honestly, quite a bit more affordable. 😉
coppergardener said:My mother has a very specific work schedule that makes it nearly impossible for her to visit a dermatologist, and while I find the situation somewhat concerning, I honestly have no idea what this could be. Since I’ve never been particularly interested in dermatology, I would be quite grateful if someone could offer some insight based on my description (by the way, I can provide a link to a photo next week):
The growth is located on the skin of her face, specifically on the side between her mouth and nose, right along the nasolabial fold. It appeared either last year or the year before. It is raised, and mostly skin-colored, measuring about 3 or 4 mm in diameter. There is a black dot on the bottom part, and this skin-colored area has recently begun to change; more specifically, it is partially whitish, almost as if there is something inside it. I also notice a tiny thread-like vessel in the center of the growth, though her face is full of these small capillaries, so I suppose it might have always been there, but still...
Thank you, and my apologies to the moderators if this topic was clearly misplaced!
Look, I suspect it is unlikely that anyone here is qualified enough to give you a definitive answer based solely on a written description...
It could be anything—from a simple cyst or a boil to melanoma. I suppose the best course of action would be for her to take a day off work or perhaps use a sick day just to get it professionally examined.
Quick question 🙂 My nails are peeling... and I mean they're peeling so badly that I can literally scrape the top layer off halfway down the nail bed. 🤷
My toenails seem perfectly fine... but my fingernails? It's a disaster. 😢
I’ve never exactly had "perfect" nails, but this current situation is actually starting to worry me. Visually, I manage to hide it by applying a layer of clear polish so it doesn't look too bad 🤷 but I know that isn't a real fix...
Is it just that I have naturally weak nails, or could this be some kind of nutritional deficiency? I’ve already tried various creams and strengthening treatments, but nothing seems to offer any long-term results... help me out here. 🙂
Drew Castillo11 said:My girlfriend and I are facing an issue. Three weeks ago, we had unprotected sex—and please, spare me the lectures—using the withdrawal method. We’re still feeling pretty uncertain about whether it actually worked. She recently went in for some routine blood work, just a standard panel and hormone check. Is there any way to tell if she's pregnant from those results after three weeks? Thanks for any insight.🙂
In principle, no.
But which specific hormones was she testing for? If her progesterone levels happen to be elevated, one might
suspect pregnancy, though for a definitive answer, you really need a beta hCG test. That is the only thing that provides 100% certainty regarding pregnancy 😉
Karen Rogers23 said:Does anyone know where I can pick up some suits for the big gala in Small Town, USA or somewhere nearby?
Thanks 😍
If you don't mind the drive, maybe consider heading just across the border. (It’s probably about an hour's drive from Small Town, USA via the outskirts)
MM actually picked up his suit there—he paid for everything in one go $1133 (the trousers, jacket, shirt, vest, and tie were all from Croata) and we even got a VAT refund, so the total ended up being roughly $2,800 😉
lonecobra5 said:Hey girls! Anyone here have experience with the band My Way from San Diego? Or maybe the Banana Band? Also, what’s the deal with Kanela?
Thanks so much in advance! You would seriously be doing me a huge favor!
I recall My Way being quite good, at least from my memory of catching their sets back in my high school days. 🙂 I suppose one wonders if they’ve changed their lineup recently, or if their quality has fluctuated since then. 🤷 I am aware that a fair number of people around San Diego hire them for private parties. 😉
Sandra Lopez2 said:It makes me so happy to hear nothing but praise for Visa; I'm really looking forward to this.😍
I mentioned them a few pages back since they were our band... you really don't have anything to worry about with them; you can be certain their sound and performance will absolutely blow you away. 👍
They happen to have a gig coming up in New York City (Rock & Roll Academy - California Night) on March 6th, so if you're around, you might be able to catch a glimpse of them. I think I'll head out to see them again myself, just to enjoy the set and say hello. 😍
Jacob Harris88 said:Help, help, help—I am genuinely on the verge of a complete breakdown!
Today, with exactly sixteen days left until my wedding, the band informs me that they might not even play, or if they do decide to show up, they won't arrive before 11:00 PM!!!
Should I just offer them more money right now to ensure they don't screw me over... or should I just send them packing? I honestly have no idea how anyone is supposed to find a replacement band that's actually available on Valentine's Day with only two weeks to go...
😲😲😲
I suspect they would deeply regret treating me this way. You won't play? No problem. Just prepare for a report to the labor board regarding off-the-books employment, and a police report for theft regarding the deposit you took. If you won't play for me, you aren't playing for anyone, you absolute jerk. ☕
placidharbor21 said:I’ve honestly never even heard of them! If you want my two cents, I’d highly recommend Son from Photo Plus or Ivica Lisjak. I’m actually having Son shoot my wedding soon because I am just obsessed with his style. As for Lisjak, I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews. Honestly, just go poke around his website; look through his portfolio and see if his vibe actually clicks with you.
A few girls mentioned Photo California before, but let’s be real—they’ll show you a couple of albums where everything looks absolutely flawless, but there's no telling if you'll actually vibe with the specific crew they send your way. Not all their teams are created equal, though I think some people on this forum used them once and were pretty happy with how things turned out.
But seriously, you really can't go wrong with either Son or Lisjak, and their pricing is totally fair compared to those big-name studios that charge an absolute fortune just for the brand.
Photo Plus is located in that little strip right before you hit Photo California, near where that parking lot by the transformer station is. You can grab Lisjak’s cell number directly from his site—just Google "Ivica Lisjak" and his website should pop up immediately.
I have to back this up. With Kodak, it really all comes down to whether you hit the jackpot with the specific team assigned to you. My brother-in-law used them for his wedding, and I must admit, the photos left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. They are fine—the composition is nice, everything technically works—but there was nothing particularly special about them. At least, not compared to some of their other work I've seen. I don't know exactly which photographers were in his "crew," but yeah, 🤷
hollowpilot58 said:I’ve had a beta test done twice—once at the hospital via a referral, and the second time a nurse from my OBGYN came straight to my house to do it for $23 and give me the results.
Personally, I think maybe 🤷 if you do it that way, you might be 100% certain🤷
but even then, I suppose I would still wait a few days just to be safe...
