If you were looking to stretch your budget just a little bit further, you might find some even better cooling solutions from other brands. But honestly, at this price point, the most important thing is just making sure it has those dual fans. To be fair, I'm not entirely sure which specific brands would offer superior cooling—maybe Club3D or PowerColor?—so your best bet would be to dig through some reviews.

That being said, I really can't tell if you actually need a card that powerful. It feels like it might be overkill for what you're doing, and I'm also not quite certain if your current setup can even fully take advantage of it.

Hmm, do I really need it? Well, I live for gaming 😁. Right now, I'm running a Radeon HD 5850, and while I thought it was plenty, I've realized it just can't handle Call of Duty: Black Ops II on max settings. Plus, with Tomb Raider coming out in just ten days, I was thinking about picking up something beefier so I don't have to worry about upgrades for at least the next couple of years. Of course, if there's a great deal out there for less money, I'm all for it! Hardware isn't exactly my specialty, so my initial instinct was "go big or go home," but I'm definitely open to smarter options. Here is what I'm working with:
Intel Core i5-750, EKL Alpenföhn Brocken
Asus P7P55D, 8GB RAM
Cooler Master Silent Pro m 700
I'm totally open to any suggestions 😁

For instance, check this one out: http://www.alternate.at/html/product...0_OC/1025924/? It's priced at $355 at another shop over in Vienna (and I wouldn't have to pay for shipping!), and it even comes with a Gamma Coupon for Crysis 3 & BioShock Infinite

Hey there, it's me again! So, Fosna suggested I check out this specific card https://www.ditech.at/item.do?kurzbe...G18&#m=details but I was wondering if anyone else has some solid recommendations for a graphics card in the $350 range? Honestly, I don't have a strict preference between Nvidia or AMD; I just want to grab whatever offers the absolute best bang for my buck so I can get it sorted this week. Thanks!!
I'm planning on picking it up from Alternate if anyone has a spare moment to look over some options for me. Thanks again!

It actually sports a much beefier GPU clock than those pricier custom-brand cards you see floating around.

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly! Just one more thing—this specific model comes with 2048 MB of memory, but I noticed some of the others have 3072 MB. Does that difference actually matter that much in the grand scheme of things?

So, would you say the GTX 670 actually outperforms the GTX 660 Ti?

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a new graphics card in the $350 range? I'm currently running an AMD Radeon HD 5850 and it's definitely time for an upgrade. Thanks!

If you're looking for the absolute best tool for this kind of thing, I’d definitely suggest Adobe Premiere Pro because it can handle the job without needing any annoying re-encoding!

Thanks so much to everyone for all the great advice! Honestly, looking at everything, I think the smartest move is to tackle the graphics card first, and then I can figure out the rest of the build from there. 😉

It's just like I mentioned before—with BlackOps2 resolution 1920 x1080, this thing handles everything on max settings at a smooth 60 fps, so honestly, it’s still got plenty of life left in it!!

So, I’m looking at maybe getting around $700 or $800 max, but if I want a decent laptop, I’d probably need to shell out another $700 or $800 on top of that... hmm... honestly, I'm torn on whether I should try to squeeze more life out of this thing or just let it go 😁... because at this point, it feels way more practical to just keep this old clunker as is and put that money toward a proper laptop for everyday tasks... you can always refurbish an old desktop much easier than you can fix up a laptop anyway

...Just swap in a better graphics card and you'll have an absolute beast—assuming gaming is what you're worried about—it really just comes down to your budget, maybe look at a 7850, a GTX 660, a 7870, or even a GTX 660Ti...

Larry Ortiz5 said:...if you just upgrade the GPU, you'd be set for years when it comes to gaming...

It seems like everyone is coming for my current graphics card... which, mind you, back in March 2010, I actually paid more for it than any of the ones mentioned above! But looking at things now, that GTX 660Ti seems like the smartest move... by the way, does anyone know what I could actually get for my current card?

Just as a little heads-up—you’re going to have to shell out quite a bit more if you want a notebook that can actually hold its own against a desktop like that one when it comes to gaming performance. Of course, laptops definitely have their own set of perks too, depending on what you're looking for...

I'm aware of that, which is exactly why I'm trying to figure out what this PC is worth right now. Once I have a baseline, I can see how much extra cash I'll need to set aside to pick up a solid notebook.

I wouldn't dare try to give you a quick estimate like that without knowing more...
Unless you're in a massive rush for cash, honestly, it doesn't feel worth selling it off. If games are what's worrying you, just slap a better graphics card in there and you've basically got a powerhouse—depending on what kind of budget you're working with, maybe look at a 7850, a GTX 660, a 7870, or even a GTX 660Ti...

I'm not actually looking for a new PC, I was just thinking about switching over to a notebook instead. Right now, I'm running Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Assassin's Creed 3 at 1920x1080 on max settings without any issues at all. Also, could the admins please move this over to the proper PDF section? Thanks!!

Hey everyone, I'm looking to part ways with my PC setup and was wondering if anyone could help me figure out a realistic asking price. I'll be honest, I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to the current market value for used hardware, so if someone could give me a quick ballpark estimate, I'd really appreciate it! Here is what the build looks like:
Case: CoolerMaster HAF-RC 932
Processor: Intel I5 750 graphics card
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5850
Motherboard: Asus P7P55D
Power Supply: Cooler master silent pro 700W
RAM: 8 GB DDR3
CPU Cooler: ELK Alpenföhn "Brocken"
Storage: 1x SSD 128 GB, 1x 500GB, 2x 1TB
Monitor: Asus 242 h (approx. 24", FullHD)
Optical Drives: 1x Sony BD RW, Philips DVD RW

It doesn't actually run in the background for me; I only let it run when I specifically give it the green light, and even if it were running, it wouldn't be a big deal on my 8 GB of RAM!!!

But honestly, what's with the attitude? It feels like you're one of those people who just loves dictating exactly what everyone else should have installed on their own hardware. It reminds me of this buddy of mine who constantly gets lectured—like, "Why aren't you using Firefox instead of Opera?" or "Opera is terrible because of X, Y, and Z." Like, why do you even care? You've got your own computer, right?

Look, whatever I decide to run on my machine is my business, and I see people pulling this kind of unsolicited advice all the time, trying to tell others how to live their digital lives.

Man, just take a breather. You’ve got your own setup, and you definitely aren't the admin on mine, so let's just leave it at that, okay? 👍

Ethan, regarding this Taylor Morales31 guy... 😁 Personally, I still use Norton even though I know deep down it doesn't do much more than keep things tidy; I just like to clean up the registry once in a while and make sure nothing sneaky hitched a ride on my startup list. Once a month, I'll run a quick scan with Malwarebytes and CCleaner + Norton, call it a day, and that's it. My Windows machines have been running for over a year and a week straight without needing a single format or hitting a Blue Screen of Death, and they're still humming along perfectly! 🙂

It's one of those situations where everything seems like it should be working perfectly fine, yet the installation just hits a wall every single time I try. So, I was just sitting here wondering—do you think we need to pull in any more pieces for this, or are we pretty much good to go?

Benjamin King2 said:Honestly, I don't think we need anything else at all.

😂🤣😂🤣 Man, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time... that one hit me right where it hurts! Honestly, let's just get it all out on the table now so nobody can claim we missed anything or start making things awkward by dancing around the subject. 😂🤣
