It’s not always an issue with your ISP. More often than not, it's just the router itself... kind of like any other computer, it needs a quick reboot every now and then to actually load the new settings.

Maybe, but Windows XP doesn't get any more updates... they just stopped making them.

Grab the latest driver from the manufacturer's site for your Windows XP 32/64... wipe out the old one, reboot, then just run the new installer.

What OS are you running? Driver version? Any other software acting up?

Loose cable or maybe the GPU/monitor is starting to die...

Let the developers deal with it. It’s on them to track down where the bug is hiding...☕

Grab the WhoCrashed program and just dump whatever it spits out right here.

It's probably not bad sectors since a full format didn't fix anything. Either the whole drive is dying or something else is up... If you can, try running this little tool. It's basically the industry standard for testing HDDs http://crystalmark.info/software/Cry...o/index-e.html

Probably easiest to just run a repair and see if it actually holds up http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/32523...ader-problems/

but I figured out how to get my keyboard working again whenever that CMOS resets
just kill the power fast and then bridge ground and power with a screwdriver.
(not using a case)

Something probably fried or there’s a short somewhere. A repair tech should be able to track it down.
Maybe some kind of short circuit or something 🤷 gotta look at it to actually know what's going on.
Jack James65 said:can't even format anything... drive won't recognize any discs. tried two already, still got more to test...

also forgot to mention my CMOS time keeps resetting. swapped the battery yesterday because it was doing the same thing then too...

pull the CMOS battery—power must be totally off, obviously—hold the power button for 30 seconds, pop the battery back in, hit BIOS, restore defaults, fix the boot order, and install Windows on a formatted drive. problem solved. though, honestly, who knows what's actually broken here... could be the motherboard or the PSU causing that CMOS reset...
Why not just wipe that drive and load up some newer Windows...
I think those old BIOS versions could handle up to a terabyte or something like that, so an 80GB drive shouldn't be giving you any trouble at all...
Just grab AdwCleaner and let it scrub everything...

Yeah, I was getting the same thing just a bit ago. Refreshed like a thousand times and nothing... sometimes it stays down for a few hours... 🙂

Probably just some bratty kid running a DDoS attack because these guys clearly don't know how to secure their servers.

Obviously. You're pushing the clock speeds harder, things get hotter, dust blocks the airflow, and then the components just bake...

Could be a screen overflow. Maybe mess with the resolution, or just reboot the rig, or both. 🤷
