OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Wedding said:That permanent friend of yours is lying through her teeth👎 — Dr. Marton has been my OB-GYN for over two years now, and I’ve never paid more than $200 for a visit. My last checkup was the exact same amount, and that actually included the ultrasound, Pap smear, exam, and swabs😍. Plus, she’s genuinely kind—she actually takes the time to explain things instead of acting like she can't wait to kick you out of the office.
Honestly, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Tadic over on Main Street... she kept insisting I couldn't have kids because of PCOS, which was just awful😲 — not to mention pushing all these hormone pills that were supposed to "fix" my ovaries, so I eventually just stopped taking them. Dr. Tadic is fine until you actually get sick; then she panics like a total amateur and ends up charging you double for everything.
Just wanted to add that I’m happily pregnant today, and my ovaries have never felt healthier😁

Anyway, I'm curious if anyone else has seen Dr. Zaki Khouri? I haven't had the best luck with him—not sure if he was just having an off day or what—but I've been seeing him through my insurance since I have the referrals.

Could you tell me where that doctor's office is located? And is there anything online about her practice?

Hell yeah!🙏 👍
Acupuncture and weight loss in Health ·
Look, at least with Federer you can actually eat—he’s way more reasonable than Car, who tries to keep you on a 500-calorie daily limit. Honestly, I could probably lose weight without him just by surviving on two lettuce leaves and a piece of steak per day...
As for those acupuncture needles, they don't really do much for me either🙄.

A friend asked me to check if anyone has had any experience with Dr. Silvia Babic over at Ginoderme... If you’ve seen her before, would you mind sharing how it went?

Thought I’d chime in with some advice of my own!
I’ve been struggling big time with my weight, but ever since I started following the Montignac method, I don't feel hungry at all—and the pounds are just steadily dropping. I'm down about 4 pounds in a month so far...
Basically, you keep your meat separate from your dough or whole-grain rice, and try not to touch carbs more than three times a week. I cut out potatoes entirely. Lots of veggies, stews, and fruit.
My daily routine usually involves one yogurt, some fresh low-fat cottage cheese, tuna in water, or chicken and fish—either grilled or boiled. The portions aren't massive, but they aren't tiny either... I'm never hungry.😳 For lunch, it's roughly a 7-ounce steak or chicken breast, about 7 ounces of steamed broccoli, and a big pile of green salad with lemon—no oil. Dinner is just 7 ounces of low-fat cottage cheese and a yogurt.
And make sure to finish dinner by 7:00 PM at the latest.
If you get hungry, just stick to apples, tangerines, and things like that. And occasionally—though rarely—go ahead and have something sweet. We're only human, after all...😍.
Try to walk for at least 60 minutes every day to start. Once you've dropped about 40 or 50 pounds, you can ease into swimming, running, or whatever else.
Good luck, and keep us posted!
Maybe give Pfizer a shot... they used to carry stuff just like that!!!
let me know if you track it down...

I'm planning to see Dr. Grujić privately—I haven't been back in about a year, but I'm heading there next month.
My primary care doctor is Dr. Kovačević, though she’s just not a good fit for me...
Since I’ll need to run a whole battery of tests, I really need referrals.
The thing is, Dr. Kovačević barely gave me one referral last year after I mentioned I was seeing someone privately—she ended up being pretty condescending about it because using a referral meant paying $67 less.
I get why she might be annoyed—honestly, I probably would be too—but isn't she legally required to provide those referrals upon request? I'm on a tight budget, but we're struggling with fertility issues right now, and I have a lot of faith in Dr. Grujić... so I'm stuck.
I want to switch to a different doctor, but not necessarily for regular checkups—just strictly for the referrals.
Is there a doctor out there who won't judge? Someone I can be upfront with about seeing a specialist privately and just coming in occasionally for paperwork or prescriptions...
I heard there's a Dr. Wahid over at the Trnje Community Clinic? Is that true?
Please help!

Does such a doctor actually exist??? Girls, I am seriously desperate here!

HEEEEEELLLLLLPPPP!!!

I'm planning to see Dr. Miller privately—I haven't been back in about a year, but I'm heading there next month.
My primary care doctor has been Dr. Smith for years, though she’s just never really felt like the right fit...
Since I’m going to have to run a whole mountain of tests, I’m going to need referrals.
The thing is, Dr. Smith barely gave me one referral last year—she was pretty condescending about it because I mentioned I was seeing someone privately (which would have saved me $67 on the total cost).
I get why she'd be annoyed—honestly, I probably would be too—but isn't she legally required to provide those referrals upon request? I'm not exactly swimming in cash, but we're having some trouble conceiving... I trust Dr. Miller's clinic, so I'm stuck. What should I do?
I'd love to switch to a different doctor, but specifically just to get the paperwork handled without needing full check-ups.
Does anyone know a physician where I can just be upfront? Like, tell them I'm seeing a specialist privately and I'll only be coming in occasionally for referrals or prescriptions...
I heard there might be a Dr. Wahid over at the Trn City Clinic who's okay with that?
Please help!

velvetwolf9 said:hmm, how much are we talking about (roughly)?
Is this specialist more on the prenatal side or infertility (un)productivity?
If you happen to know—how far in advance do they book? Is it a month out from the call, or maybe sooner?
thanks

Well, they’re a top-tier specialist—supposedly amazing for prenatal care. I’m not entirely sure about the infertility aspect, though she did tell me not to worry and that we’d get it sorted... plus, she has connections over at Mayo Clinic and places like that. As for prices, they’re a bit higher than most clinics, but nothing crazy.
The ultrasound was $183 (last year). Personally, I usually book my appointments about 7 days ahead of time...

A lot of women call Dr. Grujicka arrogant or whatever, but I actually have a pretty good opinion of her—she’s pricey and definitely serious, but she had this way of calming me down during my last visit... which helps, since I've been dealing with weight and hormone issues while trying to conceive. She seems like a real expert, and besides, my friend recommended her after she basically saved her pregnancy.
I really need to get myself on the schedule for some checkups and tests.
I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Latin too, though the wait times there seem a bit much.

Has anyone actually dealt with Dr. Latin Višnja before??? I met a woman who wouldn't stop raving about her—it actually got me thinking🙄 . Apparently, her schedule is always packed, so now...... I'm wondering if anyone here has some firsthand experience with her!!

As far as I know, Grujićka is entirely private—everything there comes with a price tag. Not sure about anyone else...

I was just browsing through Ulle Popken's site—they've got some pretty interesting stuff going on.
Has anyone here actually placed an order before? I'm curious about how the whole process works—shipping costs, actual quality, and all that...

Come on, please tell me which designers we're talking about?
I barely managed to find a slightly more modern "boutique" where they custom-made a top and a long tunic for my wedding. And I paid $533 three years ago—it was one designer who happens to be pretty pricey...
High cholesterol levels - any advice? in Health ·
Does stress actually drive up your cholesterol levels?
Watch what you eat—load up on fruits and veggies—and maybe pick up some Omega supplements to try for a few months. I took the ones from Enzo for three months and when I went back for my follow-up labs😛they were much better!
Thanks, ladies😘

I feel like this has probably come up before, but I’d love to hear if anyone else has had experience with Dr. Grujić-Koračin over at
Star Hospital. 😠I’m actually seeing her for my nine-month checkup—I've been dealing with some weight issues, hormonal imbalances, ovulation struggles, and PCOS lately—and we're really hoping to start a family soon. 🙂
Everything seems to be leaning against me right now, so we're planning to dive into all the tests and follow-ups once autumn rolls around...
I honestly can't seem to find the pregnancy thread 😕 😕

Does anyone know of any clothing stores that cater to "fuller-figured" women?😕
I'm looking for pretty much anything except Maxi Poker, Gjuro XL, or those random mail-order catalogs...
