My scalp is killing me in Health ·
Thanks so much to everyone for all the advice!
My scalp is killing me in Health ·
Uh, let me see if I can get this to work... honestly, does anyone know if this stuff will actually come out in the wash?? I guess it might not matter what kind of honey it is, right? Or should I be picky? I have some sitting in my pantry, but I have absolutely no clue what variety it is. This whole situation is just driving me crazy...

Justin Rivera17 said:If you hit up some of the high-end pharmacies or wellness clinics around here, you can actually get a free scalp analysis
to see what's really going on with your hair roots. Honestly, it’ll take you like five minutes tops, and you might actually walk away with some real answers—especially if you're worried about thinning out.

Have you even tried massaging your scalp yet?

And look, obviously seeing a doctor is the move I'm gonna recommend every single time, because you just never know what's actually happening under the surface...

Thanks so much for the advice! I think I'll check in with some local pharmacies to see if they offer those scalp exams. Honestly, my hair has never felt this bad—there was a night where it hurt so much I actually had to hold my hair up just to stop the tension. I'm just so worried about losing it. 😲

If there’s already a thread about this, I’d appreciate it if the mods could move this one.
So, here’s the deal: I used to have really long hair that I almost always kept tied back in a ponytail. I started noticing this constant soreness on my scalp—just right at the top. It gets pretty tender to the touch, too. Honestly, washing my hair seems to provide some temporary relief, but for quite a while now, my hair has been thinning out. My stylist actually suggested I just chop it off, thinking the tension from tying it up was the main culprit. So, I cut it short, about ear-length, but the hair loss didn't stop. Now that it's grown back down to my shoulders, the pain is coming back. I can't help but tie it up, though, because when I'm holding my baby, she's constantly tugging on it from every direction! For the last three days, I’ve tried leaving it down and keeping it washed, but the pain is just intense—worse than anything I've felt before. Even when it's loose, it won't stop aching. It’s honestly scary. I try massaging my scalp all the time, but that just seems to make it hurt even more. My hair has gotten noticeably thinner over the last two years.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Any idea what might be going on? I keep telling my husband that I'm terrified of going bald, but he just tells me I'm being dramatic. I would really appreciate any advice or help you guys can give.
Weakness or fatigue in my legs in Health ·
If you’ve got a serious disc herniation or some major displacement, you might be looking at surgery to fix it. But, if the damage isn't quite that severe, I guess daily spinal exercises and working on leg strength could be enough to help.
Honestly, don't let it catch you off guard; I see plenty of young people dealing with similar issues these days.

It doesn't necessarily mean you're going to have back pain; I think it really varies from person to person. I’m telling you, I go to the local spa regularly, and I see people of all ages dealing with similar issues. Most of the time, it's just a matter of how it manifests—some folks deal with back pain while others don't feel much at all.

I’d definitely ask your doctor for a more thorough breakdown. A standard X-ray can only tell you so much, but if you move up to a CT scan or an MRI, they can see basically everything down to the smallest detail. It’s your health, so you have every right to ask for those deeper insights.

Otherwise, I honestly don't know what else it could be! But as for rheumatism, 🙄, I’m a little skeptical about that being the culprit.

I’m not really sure what the exact cause might be, but I go to the spa quite often, and I’ve run into plenty of people there—both older folks and younger ones—who have had issues with a slipped disc. It sounds like they were dealing with the exact same thing you're going through right now. 🤷

Did you happen to get an MRI or a CT scan, or was it just a standard X-ray?

Paul Miller said:I’ve been feeling uneasy about this for quite a while now. It isn’t a sharp pain in my legs or anything obvious like that, but there’s just this pervasive sense that something isn't right physically. Specifically, when I encounter a high step, most people just breeze right up them without a second thought, but I find myself needing to grab onto a railing just to make it. I simply don't have the strength to pull myself up. For instance, the other day when we were boarding a commuter train with those steep steps, I tried to head up, but once I took that first big step, the girl in front of me actually had to reach back and help pull me up. I just couldn't manage it on my own. This has been going on for a few months. I stay active, I walk a lot, and my job requires me to be on my feet most of the day... So, what could this be? I'd really appreciate any insight you all might have.

I think I might know why this happens, though your situation sounds different from mine. In my case, it's because of a car accident I was in four years ago where I ended up with a spinal fracture. My right leg basically atrophied, so it's still really weak—both the muscles and the nerves are in 👎. I deal with this exact same thing because my legs just aren't strong enough.
Maybe it's something similar for you? It could be a spine issue, or maybe because you spend so much time sitting or standing that a disc shifted or something.
My doctor always told me that the spine is essentially the "trunk of the human body," so if your legs are acting up, it's probably worth getting your back checked out.
I really hope this helps a little.

As for me, I can usually manage about five steps before I absolutely have to reach for a handrail by the third one.
Yeah, honestly, I'd suggest holding off on any intimacy until you're fully cleared. Even if you're using protection, the friction can just end up irritating the yeast infection even more. It’s probably best to get completely healed up first, and then you can go for it!
You might want to pick up some Monistat cream.
Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
A few days ago, I dealt with hemorrhoids for the very first time in my life—external ones, about the size of a kidney bean. Oh my god, the pain was absolutely killing me. I tried using Hemopropin, but it didn't do a thing. Then I went to see my doctor, who prescribed some Faktu ointment, but honestly, that didn't help much either. Since I'm pregnant, my doctor says we have to be extra careful about what we use if we want to resolve this quickly.
My sister-in-law suggested that I crush up some Advil and mix it with lard. So, I’ve been diligently following that advice for three days now, sitting in warm baths every evening and applying the mixture. And thank God, the pain has finally subsided! However, that little "kidney bean" hasn't shrunk at all. I was wondering, does the swelling usually go down soon too? Because, ugh, it is just so gross.
Can anyone tell me if they’ve had any experience with this, or maybe know someone who has? I'm trying to get an idea of what my disability rating might look like. I've actually been undergoing treatment for three years now, and they're planning to wrap up my medical care at the end of the year since it looks like there isn't going to be much progress left to make.
About three years ago, I suffered a spinal fracture. I was immobile for quite a while, and it took six months of really grueling physical therapy just to be able to walk again. Even so, the lasting effects are still there—my legs go numb sometimes, and I definitely can't run anymore. I also struggle with sitting for long periods, standing up, or lifting anything heavy. My right leg is significantly thinner than my left because the nerves on that side are pretty much completely weakened.
I work as a hairstylist, so, unfortunately, that career path is pretty much out of the question for me now. Does anyone have a rough idea of what percentage of disability I might qualify for?

Justin Martinez3 said:Joshua Anderson30, is that joke happening out in the Midwest? Somewhere near the exit from Indianapolis heading toward Memphis?

Yeah, yeah, it's definitely in the Midwest. If you're coming in from the interstate toward Memphis, you just take an immediate right off the ramp. We're pretty happy with both the food and the prices, so we'll see how the service holds up when we head there this Saturday.😂

Justin Martinez3 said:Joshua Anderson30, so which hall are you planning to throw this party in?

Hey! Sorry, I totally blanked on this one for a second. We’re actually having the party at the Valentino ballroom over in Indianapolis. The groom is from New York City and I'm from the Midwest. The hall ended up costing us about $1,500 total, and it fits around 300 to 350 guests. We put down a $250 deposit, and we'll settle the rest after the wedding. That price includes the servers and the cooks, too, so it feels like a pretty good deal.
The big day is October 3rd.👍

I guess I’m finally joining the club too🙂
I’ve read through so many interesting ideas, but my main concern is that it feels like everything you could possibly need is located in New York City.

You might be mistaken there. I'm from a smaller city, my groom is from Indianapolis, and we managed to pick up absolutely everything locally. So, while you might be right if you're looking for a specific high-end hotel they have that we don't, Osage City actually has everything on your list. We picked some things up in Indy and others closer to home depending on the price, and for a few special items, we actually drove across the border—we found stuff there that was three times cheaper! Honestly, New York City isn't the center of the universe for wedding shopping.
