Make your choice: you can either have a reasonably functional forum that actually works, or you can insist on having that little image in your signature while the entire site stays broken. Honestly, you lose either way if you can't even load the page.😉
Read this thread. I haven't waded through every single post, but you'll likely turn up something useful. In the end, you could always just shoot someone from the discussion a private message 😉
I remember one time when I was about 14 or 15, taking a bus across the state line, and they just took my passport for a second. They did some quick check in those little booths—probably just making sure I wasn't trying to hop a fence or something—and then handed it right back. But, well, let's be real, traveling between states isn't quite the same thing as crossing into Switzerland.😬

Right, well, I’m talking about an average PC here... and honestly, that's precisely why I feel like no third-party software can ever truly replicate the real thing. That's why I figured it'd be smarter to just install Windows🙂 directly. And by the way, regarding that third point you quoted... that wasn't even me writing. 😁
briskbison41 said:But there’s really no point in installing 7 on your PC right now (at least not until they actually fix things up)
It's not worth it, period. But if you just want to see what the aesthetic looks like, I think installing Windows 7 is a smarter move than messing around with some random transformation pack.
And then you right-click... *screech* 🤣, it starts getting a little annoying 😁

Well, I wouldn't say that about Vista. If someone is running a lower-end machine, half of it is just going to lag... but for Windows 7? Definitely. If you're feeling lazy, a transformation pack is the way to go.😁
Well, I’ve been lucky so far; Chrome hasn't been crashing on me at all, at least for the moment.😁 As for Windows 7, I get what you mean about the taskbar, but honestly? It just didn't have that overall aesthetic charm that Leopard had. Though, I suppose it would be smarter to just install actual Windows 7 and see how it goes, rather than messing around with some transformation pack.
Honestly, I’ve cycled through just about every browser out there. For now, I’m sticking with Google Chrome because it’s lightweight and keeps things simple. As for reliability? Hard to say for sure, but so far, everything has been running smooth as silk without a single glitch 😁. To be fair, I haven't actually given Safari a real shot yet. Maybe one day, once Chrome finally shows its cracks 😁 . Regarding Leopard... it’s just a different beast entirely. Windows Vista and Windows 7 occupy one world, while OS X is in a universe of its own. I don't know, personally, I find Leopard more aesthetically pleasing... at least for the moment. Windows 7 didn't exactly win my heart at first sight, though I might give it a whirl later if I get bored with Leopard. It feels a bit sterile, that blue-gray color scheme, but I actually love it. In fact, I'm so hooked on Leopard right now that I'm seriously considering making the jump to OS X full-time 😍
So, I finally got Leopard installed 😁. Everything feels solid, mostly, though there are a few little quirks that bug me personally. Since this is just a beta, I assume they'll iron those out eventually. One thing is that progress bar—you know, when you're moving files from one folder to another? It doesn't have finished edges. They didn't bother rounding them off, so it looks a bit... unpolished. And then there's the highlight color; it’s still stuck on blue. I'm not sure if that's how it works in the final version of Leopard, but it feels a bit off to me. Otherwise, it’s functional, and I haven't run into any major hiccups in my workflow. I should mention that during the initial setup, I went ahead and installed all those extra programs that are basically useless bloatware. I've since scrubbed them out, leaving only that icon tool, "ubericon." I gave Vista and Windows 7 a quick spin too. Honestly? After a few minutes, I think those two actually feel better than Leopard. Probably because they're Microsoft products. With Leopard, some of the icons from Windows XP-era apps look a bit weird, but I suspect that can be tweaked later. Anyway, that's enough from me. Here are a few screenshots.
EDIT: Oh, right—I forgot to mention, I wiped the filenames just so nobody thinks they're missing.😁
If things go sideways and I end up having to format my C: drive, I’m honestly going to lose it. I've got data sitting there—at least until I get everything organized—that I can't afford to lose. So, I'm procrastinating... better safe than sorry 😁. Besides, the computer isn't actually slow; at least, it doesn't feel slow for what I need to do. I haven't even run a defragmentation yet (this is a fresh Windows install, hasn't even been a month 😁). 🙂, but I'll definitely let you know how Leopard is treating me 😍.
It’s not even that. It’s just that everything on my D drive is a complete disaster right now. Music, photos, random documents... it's all just one big mess. So, I’m thinking about moving everything over to the C drive first, getting it organized there, and then migrating it all back to D once it's actually sorted. That way, if something goes sideways during the process, I haven't lost anything. But at the rate I'm going? Honestly, if I'm lucky, maybe I'll be done in two months 😁. And yeah, I know, I'm being a little paranoid about my files, but whatever 😬
It didn't really cause me much grief, honestly. For me, I just ended up with bits and pieces left over from that transformation pack. It was sort of a weird hybrid—half normal Windows XP, half Vista😬. Anyway, I probably won't even get around to trying that program for another month or two... I need to get my files organized on this computer first, and at the rate I'm going, that could take forever😁
briskbison41 said:As far as Mac OS X Leopard goes, I haven't really messed around with it myself, but you should be able to uninstall Isso pack 5 without any real headaches.
Just one question... does this Isso pack 5 leave a massive mess behind when you uninstall it? In my experience, I tried using a Trans pack once, and even after deleting it, the icons were still scattered everywhere. Half the system looked exactly the same despite me changing the theme. Is this Isso pack going to be the same headache or what?
Also, how does Windows actually run on Mac OS X Leopard? I’ve always wanted to give Mac a shot, but I just never had the guts to pull the trigger.😁
