The Golden Compass in Movies ·
bluebison8 said:The movie didn't really sell me on why separating kids from their Daemon is such a horrific thing.

It’s because a Daemon is essentially a person's soul. As you grow and mature, your Daemon evolves—it has this capacity for transformation. Once you reach adulthood and your personality is fully set, the Daemon stops changing and settles into an animal form that reflects your true character. Pretty straightforward, really.

BTW, haven't seen the movie yet—still need to get through the second book. Apparently, the BBC put this one at number three on their "100 books you must read before you die" list... I don't know. It's fine, but it isn't exactly life-changing.

I can't help but wonder... what if, while all this chaos is unfolding, a stone-cold Charles Bronson type just watches from the sidelines with total fury—and then finally decides to step in?

Jack is stronger than gravity—literally. He doesn't even need to breathe if he decides not to, just because he feels like it. He might even let Jackson eat him, only to start violently shifting his internal organs from the Alpha to the Delta quadrant and back again. Jackson doesn't stand a chance.

I usually just give them a polite little laugh.. 😁😁🙂

you're being an idiot.

Uh, this stuff is probably just making you shake from pure intimidation. Personally, I thought Dial 595-Escape hit the spot much better...

I don't get it. That’s exactly what people were complaining about regarding The Black Parade—I just don't see the issue.

The Black Album

What do you guys think? Personally, I’m digging it—feels a bit heavier than the last one. They're killing it, and honestly, The Black Parade is pure genius.👍 👍

What a load of lies...😬

Pardon my French, but where on earth are you getting those conclusions? I watched the interview Joseph gave right after the fight, and he specifically mentioned getting hit in the eye *during* the bout—not after. I didn't catch the exact moment it happened, so I have to wonder where you're pulling this from. Did I somehow miss something in that interview? I need proof; I’m skeptical of your claims.

Barnett mentioned he took that finger injury during ground fighting—noted it happens in training too, though he admitted it was his own fault. He definitely didn't tap out because of it, either; he soaked up at least ten more strikes to that same spot. I honestly don't see the logic in your argument, Daniel Chavez14.😬

I was there—stayed until about the sixth flight before heading out. Honestly, I couldn't stand listening to those two hosts and their endless, mindless banter. To be fair, the technical crew really dropped the ball too; the sound system was absolute garbage. In my opinion, the whole thing was pretty dull. You’d sit there waiting ten minutes just to watch some team belly flop into the water barely two feet from the ramp, all while the host drags on with her nonsensical jokes. If they had picked up the pace, it would have been much better. Anyway, what did you guys think of the crafts?

It's been a while since I've heard anything this decent... the guys are actually delivering.👍 🙏

I'm with you. A total bore—it’s basically an animation that screams, "Look at how pretty this looks, just don't pay any attention to the actual story..."👎
First night was great, but yesterday I honestly felt like packing up and heading home early... what a total pain in the ass these critics are. Seriously—I’m skipping out on Brazil just to sit through mediocre shorts?!?!

Naive... found a few little things that were alright, but the hunt was definitely the highlight (specifically that one about the deer running from hunters)—short, bright, and punchy!

The first night was much better... absolutely loved Leviathan Coastal Wind Dad, Moon and Son, and that Sea journey !!! oh my mother, they were brilliant!!🙏 🙏

And Wolf Daddy, absolutely, especially the parts with the deer.🤣 🤣 🤣

Best of luck to Mirko!

Off topic... I think I finally figured out why Mirko went down the drain. I managed to get my hands on Special Forces—honestly, it’s probably the worst movie ever made. It’s so bad it likely won't even see a theatrical release. And look, if Mirko is wasting his time and energy on garbage like this, then it’s pretty clear why he's stuck where he is...😢

🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 I’m completely with you there... just didn't want to drop too many spoilers.👍
Ice Age: The Meltdown in Movies ·
Watched it yesterday—honestly, I was blown away.🙏 🙏 🙏 ..After Shrek 2 and this, I’m actually starting to believe in sequels again. And when one of those opossums does that little two-finger "I'm watching you" thing? Pure gold. I lost it.

My only gripe is the translation; it was pretty rough, so the opossums ended up being called raccoons. That wouldn't be a dealbreaker if they didn't mention it throughout the entire movie. There were a few other hiccups too.
However, the film is absolutely fantastic, especially those scenes with the squirrel 🙏 🙏 🙏 🤣
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Movies ·
This is easily my favorite installment, though the movie doesn't come anywhere close to the book... I really miss those little details that make Hogwarts so special—the feasts, the classrooms, all that atmosphere. It just lacks that specific warmth.

The color palette feels off in the film, too—almost like they used some strange filters? I don't know, it just didn't sit right with me.
