ranging from the cheap $15 ones up to the 4K version for about $23

Can you drop a link, please?

I'm searching but I keep getting stuck with this stuff https://www.amazon.com/s?k=fire+stick...s_ts-doa-p_2_8

Well, damn... sold it today, just a few hours before I even picked up the phone to call...

What do you think about the one posted above? I'm mostly curious about the GPU since I want to hook it up to a 4K TV...🕺

I didn't get a chance to ask, but it looks like there's no SSD included?? Am I seeing that right?
Or maybe this changes things for a laptop, which might actually suit me better... maybe..

Adam Moore3 said:The guy barely listed any actual specs—motherboard, CPU, PSU, SSD, or what this "500GB fast drive" actually is. 😵

All we know is there's an RX 580 in there. Whether that 8-core FX8300 CPU is a decade old (which, let's be honest, is highly likely) or some Core i7 (highly unlikely at that price point), we have zero clue.
And since we're flying blind on the processor, we're also guessing on everything else—the RAM, the motherboard, the whole works.

Get the full breakdown before trying to judge it, but right off the bat? This listing feels like a total bait-and-switch... If it actually had an Intel chip in there, he probably would've shouted it from the rooftops.

Thanks man, I had a gut feeling something was off so I figured I'd check.

What's your take on this one? https://www.craigslist.org/fsl/computer/pc-gaming-desktop...listing-38752470
Hey, I need some quick advice—is this actually worth picking up?

Hey everyone!

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I’m trying to put together a build with a budget of around 5k... $0.00

I’m not really a gamer or anything—just looking for a setup with decent integrated graphics that can handle dual monitors at a high resolution without breaking a sweat. Oh, and I definitely want 16GB of RAM.

No OS needed. I was thinking about going with an AMD processor—I've heard they're usually cheaper than Intel and don't really lag behind much, right?

Thanks in advance!

I'll trade you my old one for $100, but I'd have to drive down to Cleveland to pick it up.

wiredotter14 said:Sure, it can handle higher resolutions. You're looking at at least 2560x1440 at 60Hz—that should work fine over HDMI 1.4. Just let us know which specific laptop you're rocking so we can be certain.

So, I've got these two laptops

I ended up grabbing the newer, cheaper version of that monitor from my previous link, which is this one: https://www.newegg.com/monitor-lg-29wn6...ign=nabava.net

What's the verdict??

Ronald Bishop58 said:Jane, could you drop the link for that?

One thing though... I’d be using this as a second screen for my laptop—it's just running integrated graphics with a standard 1080p resolution.

So, I'm wondering, can the laptop actually handle driving a monitor with a higher resolution than its own screen?

For instance, this one caught my eye... https://www.bestbuy.com/site/monitor.../p/EK000252413

wiredotter14 said:Honestly, if I had that kind of cash, I’d just grab a 27" 1440p monitor instead.

Jane, could you drop the link for that?

One quick thing though... I'm planning to use this as a second screen for my laptop—it's just running integrated graphics and the native resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels.

So now I'm wondering, can a laptop actually handle pushing a higher resolution to an external monitor??

It’s got a 75 Hz refresh rate (yours is just 60 Hz), a slightly better response time at 4ms compared to 8ms—though honestly, those specs are always a bit sketchy—plus G-Sync support, which helps if you're running an AMD card (though I'm pretty sure you can make Nvidia play nice with it too). The downside is it lacks a built-in USB hub, unlike the one you've got now.
Depends on what you need it for, but if you were gaming, I'd definitely go for the higher refresh rate.

Thanks! Quick question though—what's the point of having a USB hub on a monitor??

PS: It’s not for gaming. I don't game, I just need it as a second screen for my laptop... 🙂

Did I get a good deal? Honestly, I have no clue how old it actually is, but the monitor itself looks flawless!

Back again since I’m totally out of the loop here.
I need a new PC monitor—what would you guys suggest if I'm looking for a solid best buy under about $1,000? $367

I've been eyeing this one, what's the verdict??

Clearly you haven't experienced a massage chair yet. The actual massage—man, it's freaking AMAZING!! It’s just the chair itself that's cheap, low-quality Chinese junk!

Thanks

Speaking from experience here—save your cash! Mine died on me after just five days, and now I'm stuck dealing with a massive headache regarding the return. Since I have to pay for the shipping myself, getting this giant thing back to them is going to cost me over $200... 👎.

One more thing—what’s the deal with the Windows version for this laptop? Is it 64-bit?

So, uh, I think I saw someone over at The New York Times mention that you can actually grab free versions of Windows for home use from somewhere online? Anyone got a link they could toss my way?

Thanks

Hey everyone—I'm looking to pick up a laptop for my old lady to use for streaming stuff online. Not for me, obviously, just for her. Ideally, I want something budget-friendly where the price-to-performance ratio actually makes sense. Looking to stay around the $200-$210 mark. $733

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or links you can throw my way! 🙂
