Yeah, exactly like that—honestly, just like what was mentioned. I don't really know much about this—just my own small take—but I’ve always felt that Sergio Leone had this way of making everything feel so much bigger than life. It's just his style, I guess! A woman just isn't part of the equation—not this time.🙂

Great one—we actually picked up a bundle at a local Target recently that included this along with another absolute gem, the Fall of the Roman Empire, which I honestly think is way more substantial than Gladiator. The only thing I’d give Gladiator the edge on is the action sequences, but everything else is just handled much better in Fall!

Don't tell me the original is actually the weaker one!?
I've got both versions at home—though I only checked out the remake since my wife won't touch black-and-white films—and honestly, after seeing the new one, I've lost all interest in revisiting the original. I just don't see how you could make a great movie out of a story like this. And after your comment... well, any desire I had left is pretty much gone.

I don't know—personally, I thought it was a total disaster, especially compared to Silent Hill! It felt so shallow and boring—honestly, it's been a long time since I've sat through something that tedious.

Who knows what kind of sequel they could pull out of a terrible movie like that! But honestly—you can pretty much get away with anything when you're targeting kids...

Subtitle everything in American just like you would for Small Town, USA or a tiny rural town, like someone already mentioned... I'm definitely against it.

In principle, it’s better—I actually understand movies from the South much better than those from Small Town, USA... well, I guess it's because I'm a Southern Belle at heart.

It isn't about whether people understand it or not—it's about being consistent with how we treat all languages. If foreign language films get subtitles, then why should there be any debate? That's a totally different conversation—whether we grasp the nuances or not (and let's be honest, we get most things, though not everything, just like with any other foreign language)—that's about quality and stuff! Personally, I don't need subtitles for any language from the regions where I lived for 14 years, except maybe somewhere like Tennessee. I can read various scripts too—I pick up my local papers almost every single day—but this isn't about my personal needs; it's about our stance on our native tongue versus foreign ones. These wannabe kids don't even need an answer—they're still way too green to get what's actually going on here.😁

Look, American is a foreign language—period—so all foreign films need subtitles. I don't really get what you're trying to make a point about here; most kids nowadays know English too, yet we still subtitle movies for them!

That evil king—Gandalf, as it turns out—well, he definitely is... I mean, okay, fine, but others have pointed that out too.
Oh man, seriously... just ugh.

Since I see Eragon was written quite a while ago—so, yeah—it really makes you wonder who’s actually copying whom.🤣

So, basically, all those fantasy books are just ripping off older myths. You could totally link someone like Aragorn to William Wallace from Braveheart—or maybe El Cid, if you're familiar with that history—and just keep going like that! It really just depends on what you happen to know.🙂
