Look, just to set the record straight, that video isn't a trailer and there isn't a movie actually in production right now. It was basically just a proof-of-concept short that director Kevin Tancharoen put together to pitch his specific vision for an R-rated Mortal Kombat film to Warner Bros. As of today, the studio hasn't greenlit anything, so we don't actually know if a full-length version will ever happen. Still, if they did pull the trigger, it would be pretty cool to see.
I'm with you on that.
It’s way too early to be hunting for a real trailer, let alone a teaser. We’re looking at a three-year window before this thing even hits theaters. Filming hasn't even kicked off yet.
I'm a massive Mortal Kombat fan, so honestly, no matter how this turns out, I’ll still sit down and watch it. Even if it ends up being hit or miss, it'll be worth my time.

Yeah... that theme song is incredible. It fits the vibe of Mortal Kombat perfectly. 😁
Mortal Kombat just wouldn't feel the same without him.
If they actually pull any of this off in the movie, I’ll be more than happy.
He confirmed that fatalities are officially making the cut. His plan is to weave them into the tournament naturally, rather than just forcing them in for shock value. I actually appreciate that approach—it makes sense if you want the story to feel like it has some actual weight behind it.
I’d absolutely have to throw in "Get over here!"—you can't have anything involving Mortal Kombat without that iconic line. It's non-negotiable.
Michael Jai White plays Jax Briggs in the short and he'd definitely be a part of the feature.
Look, I’m just going to say it: Scorpion is the villain, and he’s staying that way. People love to try and spin him into some tragic hero or a misunderstood anti-hero, but let’s be real. At his core, he's driven by vengeance, and that kind of darkness doesn't just evaporate because you give him a little backstory. He’s a bad guy through and through, and trying to force a redemption arc on him feels cheap. It's better if they just lean into the aggression and leave the moral complexity out of it.
