It’s honestly better to start on the pills before things actually kick in, rather than waiting until the first day of your period... I usually take one Advil about three or four days beforehand... makes everything way more manageable... you really have to stay one step ahead of the pain 👍
StripFX has their own lineup—depilatory strips, creams, that whole thing... and they also make this aloe vera gel that is seriously top-tier 👍 at least in my book, though my friend with super sensitive skin swears by it too 😉
Look, you should probably get your hormone levels checked first... once you actually have those lab results in hand, then you can figure out the right therapy. Honestly, just playing around with hormones without any data seems pretty reckless to me...
Melissa Gonzalez21 said:I’m not even sure that’s physiologically possible... unless we're talking about someone starving themselves or running marathons every single day. If he doesn't have underlying health issues... I mean, is there any history of diabetes in the family?
👍 just my two cents
is he actually eating during the allowed hours? like, is he staying up for those pre-dawn meals...😕
Sure, that’s what he said, but honestly, Smiley explained it much better... I don't actually know anyone who puts on weight during Ramadan, though I'm sure they exist. It's an individual thing, really... just metabolism at work... and besides, I’d love to see someone actually overeat when they're up at 4 or 5 in the morning...
blueheron46 said:yeah, great topic here... 😢 honestly, the only reason I’d ever bring up fasting to my husband is because of this. what’s the point of talking about discipline and all that if you just completely wreck your body and health in a single week? it seems like he goes through it every single time... losing weight and then just being physically drained for months afterward while trying to recover..
which is weird because 😕 from fasting 😕 I don't know anyone who actually loses weight only to end up physically and mentally broken. usually, it's the exact opposite... people come out of it feeling way more mentally resilient, stronger...
Megan Peterson87 said:It’s the worst at night... during the day I can kind of distract myself while I’m working or moving around. I think the pain is hitting harder because I caught a cold down low...
Just a cold, nothing more 👍 🙂
I usually take two Advil, then once they start wearing off, I'll grab another one... my doctor suggested just taking two right away to "knock it out" properly.
And try warming up that area of your stomach... I don't know, wrap something warm around it... you'll see, it actually helps. 😘
Megan Peterson87 said:thanks, it was honestly brutal. I just stepped out to run some errands and I was practically on the verge of tears from the pain 😁
😢 I feel for you... saying I know how it feels probably doesn't help much, but... yeah 😘
Eric Murphy2 said:Just pour enough alcohol in there to take the edge off... you know, just enough to stop you from feeling like a zombie in the morning.
Chris Reyes41 said:How smart is it to just run the juicer right before bed, toss the juice in the fridge, and then knock it back in the morning before heading into work?
I get it though... I can't be bothered dealing with all those juicer parts first thing in the morning either. But honestly, nothing beats fresh juice... still, the overnight thing isn't terrible since it hasn't been sitting out for 24 hours or anything...😁
Rachel Fox53 said:It’s most likely just a retroflexed uterus... basically just a different anatomical tilt. Most women—maybe like 80%—have an anteflexed uterus where it tilts forward at a slight angle. In other cases, it's retroflexed, meaning it tilts backward more or less. It shouldn't cause any issues with conception or carrying a baby unless there are other complications involved. During a checkup, the doctor usually feels for the position during a manual exam just to get the full picture. Anyway, whenever a doctor makes a diagnosis, you can always just ask them what that actually means and have them explain it... Someone from a different field isn't expected to be an expert on medical jargon; that's literally what the doctor is there for.
👍 exactly
my OBGYN told me it's more like a fifty-fifty split between ante and retro 😕 though it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things
Anonymous said:My doctor told me I have a retroverted uterus, but she didn't really explain anything. What does that even mean... and what kind of issues does it cause? Will I still be able to have kids?
I'm in the same boat. My doctor—Dr. Miller—just told me to put my legs up against the wall after sex and hold it for a bit 😁 and that shouldn't be an issue otherwise... (but then again, that was my ex-doctor, so who knows how much he actually knew... I wasn't exactly thrilled with his care anyway)
Kate Barnes3 said:Okay, so I honestly thought the media was just being dramatic, but then last night, this thing landed right on my leg—specifically the inner thigh (yeah, yeah, I know where it was going, damn it)—and I immediately noticed it was covered in those crazy spots. I managed to swat it with a newspaper and finally killed it. The problem is, the bite it left behind is swelling up like crazy. It’s turned into this massive 12 cm circle with a purplish-brown center, and it hurts like hell. The whole area is super inflamed. To make matters worse, I just got bitten on my forearm too (probably by a buddy) and now that one is starting to swell as well. I’m feeling pretty miserable right now. Both bites are throbbing, and I’m wondering what I should actually do and what kind of treatment they might give me if I head to the ER. Also, does any of this affect breastfeeding?
Thanks!
Since you're nursing, it's probably best to check with a doctor or a pharmacist about what's safe to take... in the meantime, cold compresses shouldn't hurt...
Larry Vaughn said:thanks so much... I might give one of those a shot. actually, I’ve been taking some pills every night leading up to this since apparently it helps to start two days early. maybe something will actually work. fingers crossed everything goes smoothly... too bad we won't be able to grab a drink together on the trip 😁
just hoping you aren't in pain, at least while you're traveling... keeping my fingers crossed for you
