I was wondering if you guys could share how long your cycles usually last and how heavy the flow tends to be?
Do yours always come at pretty regular intervals?
...I've heard there are quite a few cases where women don't get their period for a couple of months at a time... which I guess is a bit confusing to me! 🤷
...I'm really curious to hear about your experiences...

On average, we're looking at about five days every 27 days

Yeah, it's true. I'm one of those people. I have no clue if this is normal or not, though I'm leaning towards no. I honestly can't predict when it's coming because I don't have a set schedule like some other women do. It doesn't happen every month; it's more like every two or three months... depending on how things go.
I'm 19, by the way. Started my first period back in middle school, around age 13. For a while, my cycle was actually regular. I had a period every month—not on the exact same day every time, but pretty much monthly. But lately, the gaps are getting longer and longer.
I've never actually seen a gynecologist about this. In fact, I've never been to one at all. My last period was at the start of August, and nothing since then. I am definitely not pregnant... unless by some miracle of God 😁

I was really thinking about this today... over the last year, my cycle has been anywhere from 25 to 36 days😕. I'm 23, and even though I started my period at 11, things still haven't quite settled into a predictable pattern😲(my periods usually last about 4, maybe 5 days). To be honest, I don't even really know what PMS 🤣 feels like... I actually asked my doctor if I could get an ovarian ultrasound (I've never had one before), but he told me there's no reason to worry about PCOS because, if he may say so, I "look very healthy"🙄... he said that during the exam. He insisted an ultrasound wasn't necessary, so okay, I guess he knows best, right? But then I end up spending every single month terrified of being pregnant because I genuinely have no idea if or when my period is going to show up. Today is day 30, and still nothing

ruggedjackal4, you should really go see a doctor at the clinic. You might be dealing with PCOS; I’m going through the exact same thing with my cycle, where it swings anywhere from 28 to 60 days.😢

And when it actually shows up, it lasts about 6 or 7 days:- (

Hehe... well, at least you don't have to worry about that part! 😁
...though I did hear that it’s often just because of a hormone imbalance. If a doctor puts you on some hormone therapy, your cycle usually settles into a perfect 28-day rhythm!
...as for me... my cycle is only about 21 days long (which worries me a little), and my period lasts maybe 3 or 4 days.

😲 😲
Just go see someone else and get the damn ultrasound.

Does anyone else struggle with PMS? Does it hit you guys hard, or are you lucky enough to skip it entirely?
As for me... some months I don't feel a thing, but other times, I guess you could say it hits me pretty intensely. It’s almost like being in a total fog!
I get so irritable, I can't stop snacking, and I often just feel really down and end up crying over nothing...!! 😁 😁 🙂

Maybe try seeing a different doctor for an ultrasound.

Yeah, I probably should... but honestly, the guy 🙏 ...told me I’d be getting hairier if that were the case😂... is it even possible that isn't it? Like, maybe my body is just doing its own thing... because besides having a weird cycle, I don't really have any other symptoms, actually...

My cycle is about 30 days, and my period usually lasts 5.
I deal with such brutal PMS, too... I'm honestly a nightmare to be around during that time.

Hannah Lopez40 said:Ladies... what about PMS? Does it hit you guys hard, or do you barely feel anything at all?

I mean, I honestly don't know what it feels like😁 ...in my twelve years, I had cramps once that were so bad I couldn't even get out of bed... and that was it. I don't really get moody or anything—people around me would tell you that too.
I get super irritable, I can't stop snacking, and I just feel really down and end up crying all the time...!! 😁 😁 🙂

...Yeah, me too... though for me, it’s usually not even PMS, it’s just people driving me absolutely crazy.

For several years now, my cycle has been clocking in at exactly 25 days. My period actually lightened up from five days down to just three, which seems nice on paper, but the cramps? They’re absolutely brutal. 😠

As for me... sometimes nothing happens, and other times—I wouldn't even call it that—it's just a total coma!!
I get cranky, I'm constantly snacking, and I just feel miserable and end up crying over everything...!! 😁 😁 🙂

PMS? About 4 or 5 days before my period. I know exactly when it starts! 😂
My lower back hurts, sometimes my stomach too, tiny little things can make me snap or cry, I crave sweets—specifically chocolate—my libido is through the roof 🙄, my breasts get swollen, and my bones ache more than usual... especially my knees and elbows... 😢

I don't think that necessarily has to be the reason... 🤷 maybe they'll just prescribe you those hormone pills... at least, that's what happened with one of my friends... she has symptoms pretty similar to yours! ...it's nothing too scary... it would probably just mean that a whole lot of girls deal with PCOS... 😕

🤷 So, my friend was officially diagnosed with PCOS, but she’s getting her period twice a month now...

I just can't do it... I was on them for three and a half years... Diane35, Yasmin, and Cilest all ended up dealing with high cholesterol😲 ...honestly, ladies: please keep an eye on your cholesterol levels if you're using birth control pills... I actually found out by accident during some other tests... my gynecologists don't really emphasize it, and then we end up facing serious issues in our 40s from a "sudden" stroke.

I’ve had my period since I was 12. Now I’m 20, and it’s been regular from day one until now. 😁
I think I’ve only ever had the weird occurrence of two periods in a single month once.
It used to last up to seven days, but over the last year, it’s dropped down to about five.
And the PMS? It hits me like clockwork every single month. The crying spells, the mood swings, the irritability—it’s constant.

So, the cycle is about... 28 days (maybe 30, twice a year) and lasts for 6.
And the PMS... I’m basically turning into a cranky old lady.
Usually, the first day hurts a little, but nothing a single Advil can't handle.😍

...Oh man, I honestly don't envy you... sometimes the pain is so intense I genuinely feel like I might die.
So, yeah... during "those days," I definitely have to keep a heavy stash of painkillers on hand.
Though, I guess there are exceptions where it barely hurts at all... 🤷
I'm really not sure what makes it vary so much from month to month. 😕
