Why is random kindness so rare these days? in Random / Off-topic ·
I saw a video today of someone doing something genuinely selfless for a stranger, and it honestly made me realize how much we've lost that sense of community. It feels like everyone is so wrapped up in their own grind that we forget how much a small gesture can mean. Does anyone else feel like we're becoming more disconnected as a society?

They’re making the claim here that those with lower cognitive abilities are somehow incapable of achieving non-dual enlightenment. I suppose I should ask if anyone has any thoughts or perhaps a different perspective on this?

Is it actually permitted on this forum to glorify and incite criminal activity? I find it quite baffling that certain individuals who openly praise and encourage such behavior haven't faced any sanctions or warnings whatsoever.

Honestly, I suspect all this plant-based nonsense doesn't actually achieve anything of substance at all.

To be perfectly honest, I am completely dissatisfied with my current progress. Though, I suppose I should admit I’m a bit out of shape myself after indulging in some rather unhealthy habits over the last few weeks. My approach to fitness has been somewhat inconsistent over the past two years—mostly low-intensity sessions, a bit of time at the local Gold's Gym, but mostly just working with some weights I have at home. I didn't exactly start early, either; I didn't get serious until I was 25. Before that, I was quite frankly a heavy guy, weighing in at well over 220 pounds. However, I am planning to finally commit to a much more rigorous training regimen this coming fall and winter.

Looking for a trivia team! in Miscellaneous ·
There are quite a few pub trivia nights held throughout Washington, D.C., and I suppose the one hosted over in Europe tends to draw a rather large crowd, since anyone is welcome to attend and there isn't any sort of entry fee required.
Head, skull, and brain injuries in Health ·
I have managed to schedule an appointment with a neurologist, and it looks like I will likely be heading in for an MRI this coming Monday. To be honest, I am feeling somewhat conflicted about the whole thing; I had a CT scan performed about six years ago, and I cannot help but wonder if it is truly wise to subject myself to more radiation exposure at this stage.

Alright, I suppose I am heading in for that MRI next week.

I suspect these searches are going to drag on for months. I have my own exams coming up, and frankly, I struggle to retain even three whole sentences at a time.

How long might these aftereffects actually persist?

About three weeks ago, I had a nasty wipeout on my snowboard and ended up sustaining a head injury. I took a direct hit to the forehead. While I didn't lose consciousness, I found myself unable to speak for about thirty seconds following the impact. I spent the rest of that day in a significant fog; my friends at the resort wouldn't even let me leave my hotel room, despite my insistence that I was fine, even though I was clearly disoriented. This was followed by intense, pounding headaches, which led me to consume an excessive amount of pain medication. Against my better judgment, I actually went back out on the board the very next day just because I didn't want to ruin the trip for everyone else, even though I certainly wasn't feeling my best. Once I made it back home to Washington, D.C., I tried to get back into my lecture schedule, but the malaise persisted; I felt incredibly irritable and on edge. I suppose I just assumed things would stabilize shortly. However, the real issues surfaced about a week ago when I sat down to study for a rather complex exam. Although I've always possessed a fairly reliable memory, I am now struggling to retain almost anything, and I find myself fatiguing quite rapidly. It honestly feels as if there is a hot iron being pressed against my forehead. I am somewhat uncertain about how to proceed. Should I perhaps wait a bit longer to see if it passes, or should I begin seeking medical testing? If I decide to go the diagnostic route, I suspect the process could drag on for months.
So, I was wondering, is there any way at all for me to get my hands on that Herbalife Thermojetic tea without having to sign up for some kind of multi-level marketing scheme or entering into an official arrangement with Herbalife itself?
