And honestly, selling the whole rig at once is a long shot. Not many people are walking around with Coltat-level cash sitting in their pockets.

If you don't mind the hassle, you might have better luck stripping it down and selling it part by part.

You think that's enough to keep an Intel Core 3000 series cool? If I undervolt it slightly and lock all cores at 3.5GHz, it should be fine. I don't need to push it to the limit anyway.

The only other thing is grabbing another 8GB of RAM next month, then saving up for a GPU... honestly, I'm thinking about picking up a GTX 1060 6GB from Newegg for maybe $200—you can even find some with a warranty.

Basically, keep this old case, grab a new power supply with at least 600W and the right GPU connectors (6-pin or 8-pin), and find these parts:

CPU: i7-6700

GPU: RTX 3060

An SSD won't vibrate because there are zero moving parts. Stick it wherever you want.

Running a B450 Tomahawk with an 8GB HyperX Fury 2666 stick—plan on grabbing another identical one next month. Now I'm stuck wondering which cooler will actually fit inside a Zalman Z3 case.

As for the CPU, the absolute best value we've seen lately is the Ryzen 7 1700 priced at $396

I picked mine up at Micro Center two weeks ago for a few bucks more.😬

I'd just swap the platform. Sell the board and processor... everything else stays. Maybe jump to an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 + a matching board + another 8GB of RAM, assuming your GPU still cuts it.
Even a Ryzen 7 2700 wouldn't be bad.
Intel is a bad deal right now.
