didn't catch the race, but honestly, anything is better than listening to his usual nonsense 🙂

but man, I've got respect for Mark Webber...

I'm rooting for him; he just goes after everyone in that classic McLaren way...

we all try to be decent people, but he just screws them over whenever he gets the chance....

if I actually have to pick a side in the championship, I'm going with him....

because the guy’s got guts and he actually drives....
I've always had a soft spot for those underdog drivers who take down the pampered golden boys and the little princesses....

it was pretty satisfying watching Massa pull ahead of Alonso today when they passed that lagging car....

but hey, fate usually wins out in the end 🙄

spot on 🙏

cosmicridge5 said:Give me a break. If Button had about 60 points right now and we were looking at this exact scenario over at McLaren, you really think they wouldn't do whatever it takes to ensure Lewis finishes first? Anyone who thinks otherwise is being incredibly naive. Whether it’s done through direct orders or some subtle coded messages, the end result is just as unfair. Though, I suppose you could argue whether it even counts as "unfair" when you consider the massive stakes, the money, and the underlying politics, much like what Blaze and Novak were mentioning earlier.

That whole fuel situation at McLaren is basically just a team order 🤷 wrapped in a slightly more sophisticated disguise, but it's still transparent to everyone watching. We all know team orders exist; it’s nothing new or surprising. The only difference is the method—at McLaren, they use fuel levels, whereas here they just tell Mass that Nando is faster, which he actually 😁
was.
So, what is the actual difference in the grand scheme of things? Let's not be hypocrites 😁

It's an easy fix, really. Just look at the telemetry and strip them of every single point they earned today...

And maybe toss in another 20 or 30 points just so everyone else sees how it's done...

Then they can go ahead and keep playing their little tactical games...

Seriously, if there aren't any penalties after this, I don't see why they won't just be blunt on the team radio: "Move out of the way, Alonso, get out of the line, bye."🤷

It's not even a debate anymore; it's just a complete mess...

Way to go, Felipe 🙂

Honestly, I'm getting pretty damn sick of F1...

Man, when Kimi won the title everyone was shouting "bravo Massa"...

And then when that jerk Glock lost his car in the final corner, everybody was feeling sorry for Massa...

Now today they’re all mourning Massa again....

God, I hate Formula 1....

I still don't get why the hell they banned mid-race refueling.... everything should be decided out on the track....

I'd honestly rather have seen the mechanics screw something up on his car so he lost the spot, instead of all this bullshit 🙄

Seriously, it's a 1-2 finish but they look like someone just died 👎
GP Germany - 07/25/2010 in Formula 1 ·
man, what happened today was just heartbreaking....

honestly, there’s really no comparison to anything else I've seen, and I truly hope they get slapped with some heavy penalties for this absolute mess....

the only thing I can't wrap my head around is why that idiot Blaze was acting so clueless, like he thought Mass could somehow hold on for ten laps left in the race....

I don't think there's a single driver out there who underestimates the sport quite as much as he does...
I mean, if Vettel had been driving those hundred laps, there'd be zero chance anyone passes him unless they did it through the pits...

I haven't even sat down to watch a full race in like 5 or 6 weeks—just catching bits and pieces because honestly, I barely follow F1 anymore... and then today I'm thinking, "screw it, let me watch the whole thing" and I even tossed a few bucks on a parlay thinking Mass would take first place😁

and then you see Alonso putting up these insane speeds, not even five seconds off, yet he spent the entire damn race losing ground behind Mass🙄

if I were in Mass's shoes, I'm not even sure I'd have the heart to get back in the car after all that overtaking...👎

back when Schumacher was running the show, they'd make these stupid mistakes too, but at least everyone knew Schumacher was two classes above someone like Gumbek, plain and simple....

man, we really need some kind of emblem or symbol for those General Motors fans out there...🙏😁

I just got an LAFC jersey in the mail....
At first, I was like, what's the deal? Like, what does Massa have to do with the US or Los Angeles anyway? 🤣

But hey, they'll have merch stands right outside the stadium anyway. Plus, you can hear everything pretty clearly from out there, if that makes you feel any better.

🤷 Honestly, I haven't a clue, that's just what he told me, so I'm just double-checking...
It’s common sense that nothing in F1 is ever actually free—not even at a local carnival—but since tomorrow is Thursday, I wouldn't be shocked if things were weird.🤷

guys seriously, I need some help here....

my girlfriend is out in Los Angeles right now and she just told me she heard a rumor that tomorrow's free practice might actually be free to watch...

so I’ve been bugging her to pick up some stuff for me while she's out there, you know, making the most of the trip by being productive and all that...

can anyone do me a huge favor and check if there's any truth to this? I know you guys are the experts and probably know exactly where to look for this kind of info 🙏
🙏 I know some of you have been to the races before, so you've probably already figured out where all the inside scoop is hidden

I mean, what, did his wife cheat on him with an ex or something???
Did he take a hit to the seat or something and now he can't drive straight? Or maybe...🙄

And look, I'm no crazy fanatic, trust me, I've seen much weirder stuff than this...
The thing is, I just love rooting for the underdogs... just pure spite, honestly, screw it all...

This Petrov guy seems alright to me, though. He drives decent enough, but it feels like he only jumped into Formula 1 because the paycheck was too good to pass up🙏

you've been acting like this since Schumi left, and now you're just worried 😂

nah, I'm a fan too...
but I think I'm just being a realist here...

I don't go around making wild guesses like some kind of psychic... I mean, if a grandma had a dick, I'd predict she'd be a grandpa...

But I'm talking about actual, concrete stuff—what's actually happening on the track, regardless of what I want or wish would happen...😉
and the reality is totally different from what you're saying...

Because from how you talk, it sounds like you think Kimi was some kind of god to Massa, and whenever Massa actually beat him, we all just made excuses saying Kimi's car was broken...

But honestly? It looks like Kimi was at his absolute best right when his engines were constantly blowing up and he wasn't even able to get to the finish line (back in the Mercedes days)....🙏
China's economy: What's the move? in Formula 1 ·
Jason Campbell70 said:Well, time will tell.

People were totally predicting Kimi would just eat Felipe Massa alive, but man, look how that turned out. Not even close.

And I don't want it to sound like I'm just hyping up Massa here...

That’s really the core of what I'm trying to get at....

Predictions are one thing, but then you see how much everything shifts on the ground...

Back when Massa was consistently beating Kimi, everyone was acting like Kimi just didn't have the killer instinct to drive...

But right now? Things definitely aren't looking good between Massa and Fernando Alonso...

Personally, if it were me, I'd be all over Alonso. Even if I was the one in the wrong, I'd just snap out of it and stop messing around... but hey, that's just my take...

I can't help but feel like Massa is too soft. He needs that edge, that grit. The guys at the top—take Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, or Summertime—they always have that bite.

I mean, damn, sometimes Alonso acts like an idiot, but he knows how to push his way through, and you gotta respect that. Love him or hate him, at least he's giving it everything...

All this is just talk, though. Massa can whine all he wants about losing three spots, but the reality is he's sitting right behind Fernando in the standings....

If I were him, I would've just held my line. Imagine if they had collided right at the pit lane entrance—god, the chaos! Who knows if the race would have even continued with the entrance blocked up...

Now that would be a mess... and Massa would look like a total amateur.🙏
He's such a coward, did you see him pull away?🙏

hollowgull5 said:you can clearly see how Robert Kubica drives
even if you're too busy looking at Massa
so go tell those fairy tales about Massa and Kimi being demoted to kids😉

Kubica would’ve actually changed things at Ferrari and maybe helped them move forward more
assuming he was even allowed to, because from what I can see, Massa is gonna be getting crushed by Fernando Alonso at Ferrari pretty soon anyway

Wait, hold up—what am I supposed to do to prove that Massa totally outplayed Kimi???
Like, seriously, what else is there besides consistently staying ahead of Kimi?

Because right now, no matter what I say, it's never enough for people like you...

I mean, if you look at anything, Massa was better than Kimi during those two or three seasons—whether you're looking at total stats, win counts... or points...🤷

And as for Massa getting eaten alive by Alonso? Yeah, keep dreaming...

The guy is smart, so he doesn't want to air their dirty laundry in public. Honestly, it’s obvious from a mile away that he’d need some massive scandal or some huge drama about him and Alonso not being able to stand each other just to make it headline news...

The way it's going, they'll settle this behind the scenes and keep the peace... though I wouldn't be surprised if Massa gets his revenge later, even if it's just through a collision on track...

But at the start of the season, nobody wants to be playing catch-up...

Joshua Newman2 said:Look, I know it might be a bit harsh to sell Massa short, but honestly? You just can't put him and Robert Kubica in the same conversation. Maybe you could group him with Mark Webber or Nick Heidfeld... but I’m pretty sure if you put Fernando Alonso and Kubica in the exact same car, they’d be performing at basically the same level.

And what would Kubica even bring to the table for Alonso???
I mean, it's blindingly obvious you can't have two equal drivers at Ferrari... not if anyone actually wants to go after the championship, right?

Plus, neither Webber nor Heidfeld were bad drivers—you could even say they were solid guys who just never got a real shot at it. 🙏

Webber, though... feels like he had a little bit of bad luck, having to deal with Vettel and those freak accidents that end in broken bones, but yeah...😉
China's economy: What's the move? in Formula 1 ·
hollowgull5 said:the guy is honestly on a whole different level than Massa😉

man is looking for actual proof here, not just some mindless crashing like that incident with Vettel...

Robert Kubica isn't a bad driver, but honestly, it’s all talk without any real data to back it up...

behind Massa, there’s a legacy that nobody can deny, whether people like him or not...

Massa absolutely outclassed everyone at Ferrari...
he nearly snagged the championship—missed it by just one single point, which sucks, but whatever, he proved he could go toe-to-toe with anyone on the grid...

he's hungry, man, doing everything it takes to fix those old mistakes...

at the end of the day, even Fernando Alonso is often looking at his rear wing😉

and I just don't see what Kubica would have brought to Ferrari that would make him any different from Massa... or do you really think he'd be the perfect number two driver?
China's economy: What's the move? in Formula 1 ·
nimblesurfer17 said:Massa didn't exactly shine today...
If you ask me, he just isn't on the same level as Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton (among the active drivers 😁), or even Jenson Button...
Everything just has to line up perfectly for him to even dream about fighting for the top spot..

Everyone keeps saying that, but Massa has actually shown way more potential than most of those mid-pack drivers. Personally, I think he’s better than Button or Robert Kubica... just my two cents

Sure, he doesn't have that aggressive edge like Alonso or Hamilton—which is usually what separates the legends from the rest—but overall, he isn't bad at all...

A couple of seasons ago, people were claiming he couldn't pass anyone, but honestly, I can't recall a single instance where someone actually outmaneuvered him without using some dirty tactics, like what we saw from Alonso...

Of course, he had his own moments of messiness, like that whole weirdness during the rain...

But that situation with Alonso? That was anything but fair... look, I don't love Alonso, but I respect him because sometimes that intense aggression works wonders, and other times it just makes you look like an idiot...

It's all just part of the driving style...

I don't know, now people are talking about how after two races, Alonso is sitting right behind Massa like he's just being a saint or something...

What are we even talking about? He proved again today that if he had even the slightest opening, he would've taken it... the issue is he just can't, and he isn't actually *that* much better when he's in the Ferrari...

And let's be real, the thing with Massa is that he seems to only wake up around the fifth race of the season🙄

Anyway, speaking of that logic, what was the point of bringing Robert Kubica into Ferrari in the first place??? He's basically the same caliber as Massa....
China's economy: What's the move? in Formula 1 ·
I still don't really get why Massa gets so much hate....

Look, they brought in Alonso, but even if they’d just kept Massa as their lead driver, they wouldn't have missed the mark...

I mean, alright, fine, if he isn't the number one guy, I honestly don't see a better option out there than a solid second driver anyway...

We can talk about it all day, but guys like Kubica wouldn't settle for being just a second driver any more than Massa would, so I don't see the point in these kinds of transfers... or any of those big announcements 🤷

If they're dead set on Alonso and building a whole career around him, then whatever, they better find him a top-tier teammate, because with Massa in the other seat, Alonso is never winning a championship....

He'll just end up stealing points from him, and you'll have a situation just like Alonso and Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes.

Look, it’s pretty obvious—if you don't respect the skill of a driver who's basically just waiting for his luck to run out and hit the fan later...

I'm not really a fan of Alonso. I mean, the guy's got talent, seriously, he's a beast, but I just can't stand those dirty moves he pulls. 🙏

Honestly, if Ferrari decides to dump Massa, I'm done with them. They never really had a solid second driver anyway, and if this Alonso guy is already their top tier... 🙄
