Morgan Murphy7 said:look, chill out, Massa had a solid race yesterday before that damn breakdown, but he wasn't exactly playing God about it. 🤷

The guy was just driving hard and carving through the field.

Who said I was putting him on a pedestal?
I'm not. I'm just a fan, plain and simple. And honestly, given how good that Ferrari is, he’s doing great. That's all there is to it.

There's no deep philosophy here. Maybe it just looks like I'm overhyping him because of how people were posting about him at the last few tracks...

If thinking a guy drives well means I'm worshipping him, then fine, whatever, I guess I am.

I don't know what Ferrari is waiting for. If you ask me, their whole strategy is just totally wrong and, frankly, pretty stupid.

They're obsessing over finding some "perfect" driver when they don't even need one.

Both of these guys have proven they can win, regardless of their personalities. Honestly, the only person worth bringing into Ferrari—even if I'm not his biggest fan—is Alonso. Just because the guy actually understands the mechanics and knows what a car needs, whereas everyone else is just a total clown.

In my book, they really need to get their act together regarding race tactics and general leadership. Last season, they didn't make a single decent tactical call, and looking at this season, they seem even worse than they were last year. 🙄

slynomad32 said:Man, and here I was thinking I was totally alone in this... seriously, how do people keep sleeping on Felipe Massa? It's wild. Like, honestly, the disrespect is unreal.☕

Don't sweat it, man. It's just the same old story, over and over again...
Look, one mistake from a guy and he basically nukes his own race—that’s the baseline, right? But now Lewis Hamilton pulls this twice as often and nobody even blinks. I mean, sure, people are whispering about it for a second, but honestly? Give it two more races and the whole thing will be old news. It just goes without saying. 🙏

it's basically the heartland. just deep, wide-open soul territory. kaže:
Honestly, I’m just gonna say it: Felipe Massa was better than Lewis Hamilton. There, I said it. Don't come for me in the comments. It’s just how I see it when I look back at the racing.😕😵

Sometimes you just gotta be real about things and look at the facts, you know? Like, being objective matters... regardless of whose side you're actually rooting for.😉

I mean, what is actually going on with Felipe Massa? Like, seriously... I can't quite put my finger on it. It’s like watching a guy try to fix a classic Mustang with a screwdriver when he clearly needs a whole damn shop. He just seems... off? I don't know. It's hard to explain without sounding like I'm overthinking it, but there's definitely something missing in his rhythm lately.
I mean, look, I get it. I really do. There’s definitely a joke to be made at his expense, and honestly, I respect the hell out of people just having a laugh. It’s all in good fun, right? But man... we are talking about a guy who missed out on being the Formula 1 World Champion by literally one single point. Just one. That's wild.
And that’s the thing about that Glock... you know, the one involved in those shady circumstances... it just doesn't sit right with me. It's like when you're driving through downtown Chicago and you see someone pull a stunt that feels totally off—just a gut feeling that something isn't adding up. You look at the facts, then you look at how things actually went down, and there's this weird gap between the two. It’s all just super sketchy, honestly.
Whatever people say, honestly... I don't really care what anyone thinks. Just whatever.

Look, I’ll be the first to admit it—Felipe Massa had his fair share of brain fart moments, no doubt. But honestly? He had way more good runs than bad ones. I keep saying this, but the guy is still the one with the most wins in this context. And you guys totally ignored the fact that he rolled up yesterday and snagged a P13. You didn't even mention it in your posts! Plus, let's be real, he was fighting with one of the absolute worst cars on the grid. It felt like the car was basically an anchor; if you subtract the weight of the pit equipment, the car itself probably felt like it was carrying an extra 15 pounds of dead weight just to stay on the track.

Look, honestly? You can just leave all that talk about objectivity and being unbiased to someone else. I'm really not feeling it. 😉

Anthony Taylor10 said:The Best F1 driver says:
Being objective here:

I mean, honestly, Felipe Massa was way better today. Just count how many times Hamilton spun off or lost control, then compare that to what Felipe went through.

Whether it was a blown engine or a gearbox issue for Felipe, it’s got nothing to do with knowing how to handle it in the rain.

And as for Hamilton’s drive today and grabbing those points? It could easily be considered one of the biggest lucky breaks in Formula 1 history.

:
Thank God someone finally sounds sane and objective.

You guys just forgot to look at the actual laps completed by Felipe versus Hamilton.
Maybe that's where the real difference lies—in the number of times they both went wide.

It’s pretty easy to crunch the numbers—how many laps Hamilton did before Felipe’s breakdown compared to how many Felipe actually managed...

I think we gotta stay grounded and admit that Hamilton was a total disaster yesterday...

Plus, I’d personally penalize him for that sloppy move cutting back onto the track. There wasn't enough time for a move like that, and there's zero space to go full throttle right after a corner like that without hitting someone.

When I saw him clumsily cutting back on while cars were swerving to miss him, I immediately thought about that massive crash where Zanardi got wrecked.👎
China Trip - Shanghai (April 19, 2009) in Formula 1 ·
man, there is so much stuff to catch up on here😁

I’m gonna try to be constructive now, GO Felipe GO🙏

Is there anyone even close to him in terms of pure talent? Probably not. It’s honestly such a shame because he drives so well...

He managed to jump from 13th all the way to 3rd in that absolute tank of a car, but hey, that's just typical Ferrari 🙄, at least we know Felipe Massa can drive...

I am officially declaring him the king of bad luck...

It actually makes his driving look even better when you see how hard he had to fight for every inch...

piqet 🙏

hemic 😁 is solid, but man, he was driving like a complete idiot yesterday, totally lost his head🙏

Kovalainen had the hardest time out there yesterday because he couldn't find a single opening to pass, mostly because this guy was spinning around way too fast🤣

Props to Vettel, but if you ask me, both he and Kubica are incredible drivers—but if they don't get their act together soon, they're gonna be finished...

Vettel loves to squeeze in where he clearly doesn't belong. Like yesterday, he was trying to force his way past Gummie just by sheer willpower, even though he really should've just waited a lap or two for the guy to pit and then moved on...

Everything looked pretty smart yesterday, but if Lewis Hamilton had been in that spot instead, they probably both would've ended up sliding into the gravel trap. Sometimes you just gotta stay chill and read the situation...🙏

let's go Felipe! 🙏🙏

Man, those qualifying sessions were wild. I only caught the first part and a bit of the second before I had to head into work 🙏

Huge respect to Fernando Alonso 🙏

It looks like the Ferrari crew is really making moves lately; honestly, they actually looked like they could hold their own out there 😁
I wonder just how tough this race is gonna be...

So, I see Felipe Massa landed at 13th, but Kimi Raikkonen isn't actually that far behind him—only about a tenth or a tenth and a half in the Second Qualifying Round 🙏

Tomorrow is going to be intense, mostly because the gaps between the cars seem tiny, though I guess a lucky fuel load could totally flip things on their heads 🙏

Yeah, and if I can just jump off that for a second... the whole thing really boils down to what we actually expect from a champion...

I mean, looking at how things are actually playing out in Formula 1 right now—just staring at those standings—it’s totally different from what anyone predicted. It doesn't line up with our expectations or who you'd think "the guy" should be...

Because honestly? If you're crowning a champion based strictly on current reality, it's basically just Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa at the top. But if we’re talking about who *should* have it based on raw talent, pure class, or whatever, then you've got a whole different list of maybe six drivers, ranging from Vettel all the way down to Fernando Alonso.🤷

Arthur Doyle70 said:Look, man, I think you’re hitting the nail on the head with a lot of this, seriously. But sometimes... man, sometimes you just take it way too far. You really cross the line there.

Look, we’re talking about Felipe Massa here. I get it, you love the guy—he’s your driver and all that—but there's this one massive thing we have to address. Unlike guys like Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, or even Robert Kubica, Massa just drives with this super rigid, textbook approach. It’s almost too clinical, you know? Like he's following a manual to the letter. When things get messy and he needs to pull off something extra—that little bit of magic or grit to push past a limit—he just doesn't. And it isn't even a matter of him being unwilling or lazy; he's shown it plenty of times before. It’s more like he just doesn't have that specific gear in his toolkit. He simply doesn't know how to find it when the pressure is on.
If he manages to grab pole and actually gets the fastest car on the grid, yeah, maybe we’ll see him take the win—though honestly, after that last race, I’ve got some serious doubts about that. But if he’s stuck starting further back? There’s just nothing Felipe Massa can do. His team keeps handing him these incredibly slow cars, and there's no way around it. No clever tricks, no high-stakes gambles... just endless, soul-crushing laps spent stuck behind a bunch of much slower cars. And people really think that's how you build a champion? It’s honestly sad where Formula 1 has ended up. You've got all these insanely talented drivers out there, but they never even get a fair shot at proving themselves.
Man, he’s such a boring driver to watch. Honestly, and I really think this because of how Formula 1 is heading lately—it feels like her bosses keep coming up with these absolutely brain-dead ideas—we're out here talking about Felipe Massa in terms of winning championships. It just doesn't track.

Look, I get it, you're totally blowing things out of proportion here, but honestly? You probably aren't far off. The truth is likely somewhere right in the middle of both sides.

Look, if you had told me that back at the start of the season, I probably would’ve gone along with it. But let's be real about the situation right now—the guy is driving incredibly well. Whether you think he's being a total grindset obsessive or not, the bottom line is he's winning. And at the end of the day, isn't that the whole point of the fight? 🤷

Man, people are seriously delusional. Like, get this—Massa is out there dropping fastest laps left and right and nobody even bats an eye. It’s nothing to them. But then Kimi does the exact same thing? Suddenly it’s the shock of the century and everyone’s losing their minds. People are so weird about it.

Look, I get it. I know Felipe Massa has his flaws and I’m not trying to defend every single mistake he made, but man, people forget there’s a good side to him too. Honestly? I think fans today are just way too spoiled. It’s like, one minute you’re driving right behind Lewis Hamilton and your engine blows up, and suddenly you’re the hero of the world. But then, the next race, you don't pass a single soul even though you crossed the line in first, and everyone acts like it’s some massive tragedy. People are just fickle, you know?

I think we're all on the same page here... I always thought Kimi was pure class, you know? Like, the guy just had that vibe. But man, it doesn't matter how good the car is or how much tech they pack into it—if he’s not delivering, he’s just sitting there. It's frustrating as hell.

Look, I don't know about everyone else, but I’m not out here saying the guy is a criminal or anything. It just feels like Felipe Massa is constantly riding his back, whether he's being a total try-hard or not—I honestly can't tell. But man, looking at the big picture, he’s easily been the fastest one out there on the track this season. 🤷

Look, if I’m being totally objective here—and I really am trying to take the fanboy goggles off—there are maybe three or four guys who actually have a legitimate shot at the title. First up, you've got Felipe Massa. Honestly, the guy is driving like a machine lately. He’s just clinical, super disciplined, rarely makes a mistake on track, and he’s snatching wins whenever the opportunity presents itself. But man, it’s frustrating because his team is such a mess. He’s basically fighting the drivers and the pit wall at the same time; all those botched stops and that total lack of tactical coordination are just killing his momentum. It's like watching a great chef try to cook a five-star meal in a kitchen where nobody can find the salt.
Look, Lewis Hamilton is an incredible driver, seriously. He’s got that aggressive edge, but in a good way, you know? But sometimes that aggression trips him up—he gets a little too hot-headed and starts making mistakes because he's pushing so hard. He pulls off the win, sure, but that's about it. You also have to give him credit where it's due: his engine didn't blow up on him like it usually does. And let's be real, Ferrari's tactical calls were just a few steps behind. Total mess.

Man, everything you just said about Ferrari is spot on... honestly, just straight-up disaster driving. And the worst part? I have zero clue why. Like, I'm sitting here staring at the screen trying to make sense of it, but there's just no logic to it. It’s just total chaos.

Kubica’s got the raw talent, man, seriously. When he’s in a car that actually works, he looks like a beast. It's his time to shine, I really believe that, but he just can't seem to handle the heat when things get heavy. Like, at the start of the season, he was pulling off these killer starts and holding positions way higher than they should have been, but then the pressure hits and—poof—he’s sliding back. He keeps getting eaten alive by guys from McLaren and Ferrari. It's like watching a guy nail a perfect jump on a skateboard only to wipe out the second the crowd starts cheering too loud. Just can't find that composure yet.

Man, you're asking me to pick a champion when you're basically asking which flavor of chaos I prefer? It’s impossible. Honestly, none of these drivers are actually "complete" right now. Like, they all have these massive gaps in their game. You got guys who are fast but lose their cool, and others who are steady but just lack that extra gear when the pressure hits. It's like trying to pick a winner between three different types of unfinished projects. Just pick one? Nah, I can't do it. No one's truly got it all figured out yet.
I mean, look, I definitely need Alonso back in a top seat, but man, he’s stuck driving that Renault car which just isn't cutting it right now. Honestly? It’s kind of on him. He’s the one who picked this ride, so he’s basically stuck with the consequences of his own choices.

I think the last time Ferrari actually got hammered by penalties was back in 2006 during that whole Schumacher era, and maybe a few other times since then, but my memory is honestly pretty shot on specific calls 🤷

I mean, look, Massa got hit with a black flag in Canada last year, so I’m really not buying into all these wild conspiracy theories...

Look, sure, the FIA is a total mess, and yeah, they definitely seem to have a soft spot for Ferrari. And let's be real, you know damn well Hamilton deserved those penalties himself—you just seem to love diving down the rabbit hole of conspiracies way too much...

Because what happened at Spa? That was a textbook penalty. The more I watch the replays, the more it just looks like common sense to me...
Since Kimi basically beat him at his own game. Hamilton has this habit of squeezing people out and leaving them zero room to breathe. He did the exact same thing to Massa and Pic much like how he handled Glock at Monza earlier this year, and he's done it a bunch of other times too. There's really nothing to whine about...

Nobody is saying you can't cut a chicane, but man, cutting it the way he did? That’s where you cross the line into trouble...
If you want me to dig up the footage to prove my point, just say the word and I'll get on it...
Round 15: Singapore Grand Prix in Formula 1 ·
The Greatest Driver Ever? Man, people love to argue about this one. It’s like trying to decide if a cheeseburger from Five Guys is better than a Shake Shack burger—everyone has their thing, right? You get these guys going back and forth, throwing stats around like they actually mean everything, but it's never that simple. It’s not just about who has the most wins or who’s got the flashiest lifestyle in Malibu. It’s about that feeling when a driver is just... in the zone. Like, you know how some musicians just lock into a rhythm and the whole room changes? That's what I'm talking about. One minute you're watching someone struggle, and the next, they're carving through the corners like they were born behind the wheel. I don't know, I feel like we get too caught up in the numbers. If you look at the history books, sure, there are legends. But greatness isn't a spreadsheet. It's more like that one guy you know who can fix any car engine just by listening to the sound it makes. It's intuitive. It's raw. Everyone thinks they know the answer, but honestly? We're all just guessing based on who had the best car that week. It's a mess, but hey, that's why we watch, I guess. kaže:
First off, please just listen to your own advice for once.😉Look, I’m telling you straight up—I don't give a damn about Ferrari or McLaren, alright? It’s not even about who wins or loses for me. The whole point here is that they're actually handing out penalties. That's what matters. everyone Besides Ferrari, it feels like it's just McLaren and Lewis Hamilton getting hit with those questionable, brainless penalties all the time. Seriously, give me just one example of a penalty Ferrari actually picked up.🤷 Forget all that talk about $10,000 fines or whatever. That’s not even the point. Honestly, Lewis Hamilton and McLaren would gladly trade those six points they grabbed in Belgium for a $100,000 fine in a heartbeat if it meant getting things right. And look, even if we weren't talking about this situation but were looking back at Japan 2007, my point stays the same. I'm not saying Felipe Massa is the only one to blame here—both him and Robert Kubica played a part—but if you follow your logic, you're basically saying that since they both cut the chicane, nobody actually gained an advantage. By that same logic, Lewis Hamilton didn't gain any advantage either, because Kimi Räikkönen didn't finish the race after hitting the wall. So, by your reasoning, there was zero advantage taken.🤣
Look, when you start bringing up Lewis Hamilton and Monza like that, I gotta say... you’re actually onto something there. You've got a point.Honestly, Lewis Hamilton deserved that stop and go penalty at Monza. It’s just one of those things where you look at the replay and it’s pretty clear. I don't know, maybe I'm being too harsh, but if you're pushing the limits like that, you gotta expect the FIA to step in. It’s kind of like when you're driving down Broadway and someone cuts you off—you might be mad, but they definitely broke the rules of the road. It’s just how the game works now. Everyone's looking for any tiny mistake to throw a flag on. Just my two cents, though. If there was ever a moment where he actually earned a penalty during his entire career, it was at Monza—but of course, they didn't give him one.👎 Fuck the referee, fuck the FIA, and honestly? Fuck those compensations too. 🙂

Look, at the end of the day, a driver drives for the team. Period. The team hands them the car—whether it’s a rocket ship or a total lemon—and they also handle the pit stops. If the crew nails a six-second stop, the driver gets that boost. But if the pit crew fumbles and takes fifteen minutes to get things sorted? Well, the driver just has to eat that consequence too. It's all on them. Honestly, it makes me wonder why we even bother with refueling and tire changes at all; we should just scrap the whole thing and call it quits. And hey, if Felipe Massa thinks his crew at Ferrari isn't cutting it, he can always just jump ship over to Force India and win a championship there. Those guys never mess up a pit stop.

If there’s one thing that really gets under my skin, it’s when someone gets slapped with a penalty for some rule they didn't even realize they broke. It just feels wrong, you know? Like, if you're out there playing the game and you miss a tiny detail, getting punished for it feels totally unnecessary. It’s like being pulled over on a highway in Chicago for having a slightly cracked taillight—it’s technically a violation, sure, but it doesn't feel like justice. It just feels like they're looking for any excuse to throw a flag. It just isn't there. It’s gone. Nothing. Man, someone’s definitely gonna post about this once the dust settles from that messy incident and the driver gets hit with that penalty.🙄 It’s not just about Lewis Hamilton, though. You can't forget Nick Heidfeld was right there in the mix too.🤔 And I’ve gotta say, someone else needs to weigh in on that absolute snail-paced driving we saw at the end of qualifying. Seriously, what was that?

It’s kind of like when you're cruising down Broadway and suddenly there's just a sign staring you in the face right there on the side of the road. 50 milesMan, those restrictions... you basically just cruise through with them. 50 milesMan, you gotta grab a shot of that camera. Seriously. Two days later and they’ve already got roadwork going on and a sign posted up out of nowhere. 19 milesMan, it’s honestly wild how you can be driving exactly eighty on the highway, totally following the speed limit, and the cops still roll up to your house with a photo of you clearly hitting that eighty mark just to slap you with a ticket anyway. It makes zero sense. $1000 And they’re gonna yank his license for six months, too... honestly, since that seat is basically a dead end right now, he might as well take the break. 19 milesI can't believe I actually typed that. My bad. Just a little slip of the fingers there. Anyway, back to reality.🙄

Look, here's the thing... my main issue is that I just can't stand conspiracy theories. I mean, I said this last season too when we were going back and forth, and honestly, back then I was being totally unbiased because, frankly, I didn't give a damn about who ended up taking the championship.

It’s not even about me being bummed that Massa !!!!!!! didn't take the win. Honestly, I don't care about that part. What actually matters—the big thing for me—is just wanting to see someone win it fairly, you know? Like, do it the right way.

Look, let's be real—the FIA definitely plays favorites with Ferrari. That’s just how it is, and honestly, it probably always will be. But even with all that bias, I don't think they're going to tilt the scales so hard that the championship stops feeling legit. It stays competitive enough. 🤷

Look, if you ask me, Lewis Hamilton deserved that penalty at Spa. It’s just how it is. He wasn't exactly playing it clean—he was cutting that chicane way too aggressively, like he had half a tire on the track or something. It reminded me of when Fernando Alonso pulled that move in Montreal back in 2007 to get past Nick Heidfeld, but honestly? This felt way more reckless and dirty than that. Just a messy bit of driving, if you ask me.

Man, you guys are seriously tripping over every little thing whenever a rule isn't applied perfectly. Look, I'm not even that kind of guy, regardless of how much I root for Ferrari...

I'm telling you again, I can't stand these theories. Every single one of these examples is just pure speculation about some "robbery," acting like the officials decided the entire championship over a measly four points. 🤷

And regarding Massa—he’s actually beaten everyone on the track in their head-to-head matchups, but obviously, nobody cares about that...

Yeah, Massa is trailing right now, but if things stay predictable in these next three races, I see him taking the win....
Because he's been absolutely dominating lately, but apparently, that's also a problem for you guys since his car is actually fast.

So, what exactly do you people think needs to happen for someone to actually earn a championship title??
Because it's never enough—it's wrong if Lewis Hamilton wins, and it's also wrong if they don't penalize him for some random reason...
Round 15: Singapore Grand Prix in Formula 1 ·
Man, I just watched it... honestly, I have no clue what anyone would’ve even done in that spot. Robert Kubica shoved him out twice and Felipe Massa did it twice too, but you gotta hand it to them—they kept it pretty clean despite the chaos...

stormybadger8 said:It’s only fair that Lewis Hamilton lost his win for cutting the chicane🙄 just like how when Massa was muscle-ing Robert Kubica around for a whole lap and cut through every single chicane on the track, it was also totally fair that there was no penalty☕

It’s fair that Kimi didn't get penalized when he slammed into Adrian Sutil—who was having the race of his life and sitting in 4th, which would've brought Kimi tons of cash and maybe even a better deal in Formula 1, while his team is starving for money—yeah, it’s just as "fair" that there was no penalty🙄 but it’s also just as "fair" that Lewis Hamilton got punished because did he slam Kimi in the pits? If we're being fair to the extreme, let's go ahead and penalize Rosberg too☕

It’s fair that Massa didn't get any kind of penalty when he spun out in front of Sutil in the pits (the first time), and it's also fair that Massa got a pit stop + 10 sec for spinning in front of Sutil (the second time) for wasting fuel all over the pit lane and endangering a whole bunch of drivers and mechanics, so that's fair🙄 likewise, it's fair that Nick Heidfeld got a 3-place grid penalty, since he was just doing a normal pit entry, but at that exact moment Rubens Barrichello ended up right behind him and Nick is to blame for that, so he definitely needs to be punished because of that messy pit entry🙄
Of course, the general dangerous move by Kubica and Rosberg entering the pits under the SC is way worse than Massin and Ferrari's tragicomic little drama, and that definitely deserved a pit stop + 10 sec penalty 🙄

But hey, as long as everything is fair

I’m rooting for the Street circuit☕ and I’m looking at all this objectively from the sidelines, and yeah, it hurts my soul thinking about who’s gonna be champion, but like I said once before, the FIA should just hand the Constructors' title to Ferrari at the start of the season and the Driving also, and then let Ferrari take a week to think about it and announce which of their drivers is going to grab it this year, and then stop screwing around so the rest of the season can actually be driven normally and people can fight for second place in the standings

look man, I’ll tell you straight up and I’m asking you to please look at the situation realistically, not just as a fan...

it’s fair that Hamilton lost his win because he didn't have the guts to wait and go through properly....
just saying, I like the kid and he's even more of a favorite than Kimi, but that doesn't change the fact that he made a mistake and he has to face the consequences....

and you know yourself that in that split second, if he had exited the corner normally, he would've been behind the car like any normal exit, but instead he was already alongside him coming out, so that's an unfair way to gain an advantage....

this has nothing to do with Ferrari or McLaren anymore, it’s just about his own screw-ups...

I should mention the FIA let him slide on that mess in Monza because they felt he deserved a break since he's a master driver, but honestly, I'm starting to worry he's gonna become a total jerk, and that's just unnecessary....

So, this whole thing about closing off the line when passing someone and just not leaving any room in the recent seasons... I'm just saying, they didn't used to do it like this. Sure, it happened before, but I was watching some old overtaking clips recently, and the real pros? They always left a gap for the car coming through....

Regarding Robert Kubica and Felipe Massa at Monza—if you're talking about that shove, Massa let him through because he cut the chicane, so I think that settles that part right there. 🤷

As for Kimi getting bumped by Adrian Sutil, in my opinion, there shouldn't have been a penalty there, just like how there shouldn't have been one for Lewis Hamilton bumping Kimi in the pits...

If you remember, I was actually the biggest advocate for not penalizing the guy in the pits because he couldn't avoid him—you could tell he was trying... Man, there's definitely some unfairness in those two cases, I'll be honest about that, but nothing more...

And that incident where he went off track ahead of Sutil? That isn't Massa's fault, it's the mechanics. From what I read on an American news site after the last race, the issue was actually dangerous driving through the pit lane, not the off-track excursion....

It just feels wrong to penalize a driver for a mistake made by the crew. Take points away from them in the Constructors' Championship, hit their wallets or whatever, but don't punish the driver for something they didn't even do. 🤷

That’s just my take, and it’s staying that way, because this isn't about it being Ferrari specifically, it's about actual logic....

I'm reading through these posts now and people are acting like Massa is to blame because of the mistakes in the pits, but looking back at the whole season, I don't see any actual mistakes on Massa's part.

And yeah, I'll say it again: I think everything comes down to the individual. If you spin five times on a wet track, that's on you. But the pit wall provides zero help with strategy, because honestly, what Ferrari is doing with their strategy is just a joke.

McLaren is absolutely destroying them out there.

Edward Howard2 said:I don't really get why you used an engine failure as an example when that wasn't even what happened here. For Felipe Massa, it was a bad pit stop, but look, pit stops are just part of the game. It's how drivers gain or lose ground when they can't make moves directly on the track. That exact same pit crew might be the reason Massa grabs a win at the next race. Everything happens so fast, so mistakes are bound to happen—I'm pretty sure if those mechanics had like thirty seconds to refuel, nothing would have gone wrong. Maybe the lollipop man takes an extra second to lift the sign, but hey, it’s a safer bet, and honestly, it’s just a team call. So, I wouldn't call it some "accident" that should take away from the fact that Fernando Alonso and the Renault fans should celebrate this win just as much as if there hadn't been any "bad luck" for Massin.

I just can't wrap my head around you downplaying this victory. Alonso was the man in Singapore, just like Vettel was the man in Monza. Even if they aren't top-tier on the season standings or driving the absolute best cars, they nailed those two races. They drove flawlessly, played their cards right, and used their skill and the track conditions to earn that win. To me, those wins might actually carry more weight than anything from Massin or Lewis Hamilton because they pulled it off in significantly worse machinery. And even if they don't count for "more," they definitely taste sweeter.

As far as who Massin is actually competing against in the final standings, I'm mostly with you, though I wouldn't say Kovalainen belongs in that conversation since he'll never be better than Kimi, so he's not really a threat to Massin. But that doesn't mean those are the only guys who can step up. You can find greatness by reading the situation perfectly, having the smartest team calls, or just having the best pit crew in the business. Is the "best" really just whoever sits in a car that's 20% faster than everyone else and cruises past the guy in second by 20 seconds without hitting a single bump?

I think you totally misread what I was getting at...

My post wasn't about the specifics of last race; it was more about the general vibe of following Formula 1—you know, that mindset where you root for Massin and just hope Lewis Hamilton's engine blows up...

Generally speaking, I'm on the same page as you, but I can't agree with that last bit about who's the best...

Personally, I feel like Ferrari and McLaren are running basically the same cars right now; it's all just tiny little details at this point...

Ferrari's tactics are a total mess, and they brought in a driver who doesn't seem to care about anything. His teammate is basically outshining him, and honestly, I'm kind of loving it...

Of course, a huge chunk of the fanbase hasn't caught on yet and still spends their time talking nonsense about Kimi, Robert Kubica, and the rest of the crew who aren't even in the title fight...

There's forum chatter, and then there's reality. And the reality is either Massin or Kimi is going to take it, provided nothing crazy happens on track like it did last time...

When it comes to the cars, you know as well as I do that while the car matters, it isn't everything. If it were all about the machine, Kimi and Alonso would have been champions last season. This year, on paper, Kimi should be winning it in a tight battle with Lewis Hamilton, but we see how that's turning out...

Massin is driving incredibly well—I have to admit, even I didn't see that coming. He's driving like a champion. Their tactics are trash and their pit stops are terrible, so whatever he wins, he wins on his own merit. He's outperforming everyone, and for me, he's the standard for what a teammate should be...

Apparently, Kimi just can't get his tires up to temperature.🙄, I mean, obviously Felipe Massa can handle different cars 🙄

Edward Howard2 said:I’m not really following what you're trying to get at with these posts 🤷
are you saying Alonso didn't earn this win today? 😕
Man, he was the king of two out of the three free practices, cruised through Q2 in qualifying, and the only reason he wasn't sitting at the top after qualifying was just due to some bad luck with the fuel pump. Then today, during those opening laps (before that Pike crash), he sliced past four drivers on track, drove the whole race without making a single mistake, and if anyone deserves a win, it’s him today.
And honestly, if you think Mass's accident made things easier for him, you can just cancel that out with Alonso's bad luck from yesterday.

No, no, don't get me wrong, I think Alonso is the man and I'm stoked he won.....

It's just that it feels like half the fans here are basically rooting *against* someone rather than actually rooting *for* someone...

And honestly, I truly don't get the thrill of winning like that. Take me, for example—I'm a Massa fan, so if Hamilton is looking fast, I'm basically praying his engine blows up just so Massa can pull ahead.

To me, a win doesn't taste sweet if you weren't actually the best.🤷

Truthfully, when I look at who could actually challenge Massa, I'm thinking Hamilton, Kimi, and Kovalainen... maybe even Kubica.

Everyone else is just stuck in cars that are way too slow to be a real threat. Of course, Alonso is the big boss here, and if luck is on his side, he might end up pulling together a decent Renault next season.🙏

stormybadger8 said:Look, tell me if there’s any Ferrari driver who’s picked up a penalty this year other than today’s mess during the race. And what’s the actual difference between this spin right in front of Sutil compared to the last one? It was just the same messy spin in front of Sutil again, except for the tiny detail that Massa wasn't even in the running for points today anyway. ☕

And think about it—which top-tier driver from the last two seasons, besides Kimi and Massa, hasn't run into some kind of penalty? ☕

I mean, it's pretty obvious. It’s frustrating how it always seems like they’re getting slapped with something, whether it's qualifying or the race itself—Rosberg, Kubica, Heidfeld, Hamilton, Kovalinen. 🤷Seriously, please, try explaining that to me. 🤷

I'm not out here defending McLaren; I'd do the same for BMW, Williams, Red Bull, STR, Force India, Honda, or Toyota—for everyone. Just not for Ferrari.

And I’m certain today won't actually cost Ferrari anything. If McLaren or BMW had pulled that stunt, they would've been banned from at least one race. You just can't cause a situation more dangerous than what happened in the pit lane. ☕

Man, we're all on the same page here, but I'm looking at the actual racing on track, not just listening to hearsay and conspiracy theories...
In my opinion, everything has been fair this season, and I say that because I'm not some crazy fanatic stuck in a bubble; I actually watch the races...

Of course, I'm talking trash about Massa, but would you really want some random underdog to pull something between these overpriced elites?

And no, nothing was handed to Massa. I'm against certain penalties too—like when Hemic collided with Kimi in the pits because it wasn't intentional. 🤷

Sure, the FIA might lean toward Ferrari, that's true, but I don't buy the idea that they're actively trying to screw everyone else over just to help Ferrari. That's just stupid conspiracy stuff...

Again, Massa is doing the best job on track this season. He’s straight-up the fastest, and honestly, it would be an injustice if he didn't take the title. 🤷

Lewis Hamilton drove like an absolute beast today 🙏
