He played it exactly how he wanted to—ruthless. Honestly, seeing that kind of nerve is pretty damn satisfying to read about.
Pros and Cons of Sebastian Vettel in Formula 1 ·
If they ditch that pink color scheme and actually go with this look, we’re looking at a top-tier car 🙏
Of course, I won't even get started on Seb's haircut 🤦
The quality of the argument always depends on the quality of the people having it.
We’ve drifted into this circular, pointless debate—honestly, the whole thing is nonsense. Situations like Rosberg-Hamilton have popped up plenty of times throughout history. So, yeah, this is my last word on the matter...
If you’re going to log off, please just stay offline—it’s better for everyone involved.
@Nicholas Newman2 👍 This link explains everything perfectly.

But hey, go ahead and keep living in your own little bubble. That one line—“Mainly because of all those places worse than first”—pretty much proves you don't get how this sport works.

Coming in second is just being the first loser.

And then there's this new brand of mathematical gymnastics: claiming someone won more points outside of their victories 🤣 damn math, right? 🙏🙏🙏 Trying to compare total points when the number of races isn't even the same—that's some pretty weak early-morning mental gymnastics.
Hamilton averaged 14.44 points in races where he finished but didn't win, while Rosberg sat at 14.54. It's basically the same thing—one point difference over ten races. And most importantly, what kind of logic is it to discount wins? Wins are the whole point of motorsports.
silverviper44 said:Sure, if he wasn't driving a Mercedes, no influencer would be getting any clicks or headlines, let alone a single win.

Since we're already playing the "what if" game...

Just accept the reality that Rosberg was actually BETTER ON TRACK in 2016, which is why he took the title in that same car, regardless of whatever nonsense reasons you're clinging to.

Seriously, can we please stop the constant fighting over whether some influencer is a saint or a villain?

HE ISN'T.

Faster on the track how, exactly?

More wins? Nope.
More pole positions? Nope.

More DNFs due to mechanical failures? Yeah, sure.

Honestly, it shouldn't be that hard to see why he let that championship slip away...
Look, there's no denying Rosberg had an incredible season, and credit where credit is due—he earned that title. But as usually happens, it all came down to the tiniest details.
Good grief, what a mathematical circus 🙏🙏🙏

You started off with this thesis that if Lewis Hamilton had just squeezed out every bit of potential, he would have snatched the 2016 title. Well, let me set the record straight—he lost that championship by five points because his engine gave up during a race where he was leading, which allowed Rosberg to finish fourth (though Rosberg ended up third since Lewis had already dropped out). The gap between first and fourth place alone is more than five points.

Talk about mental gymnastics 🙏🙏

If you really need me to spell it out, nobody ever consistently extracts absolute maximum performance—that should be a given.
Hold up, you actually just tried to compare his battle with Valtteri Bottas to his fight against Fernando Alonso. Look, I’m sorry, but just stop—unplug the router and walk away. 🙏🙏

He gained that advantage on the undercut purely because of the tires, just like everyone else who pitted.

As for 2016, Lewis was basically squeezing every ounce of performance out of that car, which is why he walked away with more points per finished race. Honestly, his engine blew up in Malaysia, while Rosberg didn't have that issue once, and that's how you lose a title. If that hadn't happened, he'd be an 8-time champ by now...

Fine, here it is again

Alain Prost 1986
Senna 1991
Michael Schumacher 1995

Titles won in cars that weren't the absolute best.

Prost in '86—sure. I'd probably toss in 1982 or maybe 2008 too, but I can't get behind '91 or '95.

Regarding 1991—yeah, the Williams was a beast ahead of its time and all that, but the thing just kept breaking down. Between all those retirements, especially early in the season, they dropped so many points that Senna's class eventually allowed him to snatch it. After that, Mansell went on a tear, but the old pro managed to pull it off anyway.

As for 1995, that’s debatable; it feels like a classic 1a/1b scenario.

Bottom line: looking back over the last 60 years—say, since the 1960s—we have maybe two or three seasons where someone took the title without having the absolute best or even an equal car to the runner-up. But sure, go ahead and attack Lewis 🙏🙏, who has that 2008 run where the Ferrari was clearly the class of the field.

People talk, but Lewis had a more dominant car than, say, Senna or Niki Lauda... Fine, great, but whether he was dominant by one point or 100 points doesn't change the number of titles on his resume. If someone starts arguing Lewis is better than driver X just because he won by a larger margin, they're missing the point—he was driving a monster of a car.

Still, at the end of the day, the guy squeezes everything out of a dominant car, and this is the result we see....

Getting back to the race, there's one thing I don't think anyone has mentioned. Look, Russell is incredible, no question, but you could see a distinct difference—which is totally normal given the circumstances—where Russell would build a lead over Bottas and then lose it every few laps due to some tiny error or something similar. Hamilton's whole thing is that relentless lap-after-lap pace while managing tires; that's his superpower. If Lewis had been driving yesterday, I think the gap between the two Mercedes would have been significantly wider, which gives the pit crew much more breathing room for tire changes and almost certainly prevents mistakes. It's not Russell's fault, obviously, but that's the value of building a consistent advantage—you never know when you'll need that cushion for a double pit stop or whatever.
The mental gymnastics being pulled by two moderators is unreal—just constantly shifting the narrative just to find ways to discredit Lewis Hamilton. Seriously. 🙏🙏🙏

Are we going to start listing all the championships won by Senna, Schumacher, or Prost where they didn't actually have the best race car?
George Russell proved exactly what kind of driver he is

bravo Sergio, get him into Red Bull Racing
Russell, go get 'em
Jason Campbell70 said:Charles Leclerc isn't particularly fast, nor is he particularly sharp.
Is he destined to just be Max Verstappen's wingman?

Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are pretty much cut from the same cloth. Honestly, they're both probably just heading toward a future as George Russell's wingmen. ☕
George handled that beautifully🎉🎉
For those folks like Tibi and the rest who love to hear themselves talk—Max basically summed up his thoughts on Lewis and all that nonsense about anyone being able to do it...

Honestly, screw it all—Brawn Rosberg and Schumacher built everything 🤦
Let’s just look at the facts for a second...

Back when those three were running the Mercedes, there wasn't any real progress—they were sitting 4th, 4th, 5th in the standings, basically sliding backward every single year. The first year they brought in Wolff and Lewis, they jumped straight to second place, and then eventually became champions—though, let's be real, they didn't turn it all around in just one season.
Obviously, they probably hit their peak dominance this year because I'm guessing Brawn developed the foundation seven years ago and they finally cracked the code now. 🤣🤣🤣
Tibi, seriously, go get some help.
Kenneth Cruz67 said:If my previous post came across that way, then I suppose I didn't express myself very clearly, because I definitely wasn't including those salaries in the cap calculations.

Since it looks like The Bear has organized things so efficiently, they might actually have to spend a whole lot more money next year than they have in recent seasons just to hit that limit.😁

Hoce, for the 2022 car, where they'll enter a new era just like they did for this one.☕
The real question is which of these young drivers—with George Russell as the heavy favorite—will actually get the privilege of driving the better car...
graniteharbor502 said:And it isn't just his reputation either; he'll likely see that final zero wiped right off his paycheck.

Hamilton has more followers and fans than all the other drivers combined. A zero is only fitting for the GOAT.
Jose Myers87 said:Bottas is out there today driving for his own career and Hamilton's too. The stakes couldn't be higher. This might just be the most critical race of the century.

I'd actually make a whole new troll account just to reply to this one comment. 🙏🙏
Lewis is clearly living in a complete fantasy land.
darkmarlin16 said:Bottas basically pulled the exact same stunt on Ham that he always does

Lewis Hamilton is still beating him—just by a slightly wider margin.

I mean, pulling off a gap of just two tenths in a car that isn't even built for his driving style? Young George is definitely making an impression. But tomorrow comes the points split...
That’s all there is to say about Williams. Without George Russell, there’s no party.
