Major changes coming to the Federal Reserve subreddit in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Lisa Martinez82 said:Even the subforum title itself feels pretty negative; it almost seems designed to invite the exact kind of drama we’re trying to steer clear of down the road.

Why, and which ones specifically?
Honestly, you're making a mistake here. This is just going to trigger a massive backlash...
Where is a person supposed to go if they want to file a complaint about an unfair ban?
Or what if the moderation is biased, or worse, when a moderator hands out penalties simply because they don't know the rules themselves?
And where does someone go to contest Section 5 of the guidelines regarding religion? It's incredibly subjective, unfair, and open to way too much interpretation.
From where I'm sitting, it looks like you want this forum to be a daycare center rather than a place for actual, serious discussion...
The worst moderator selection! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Given my past experiences, I think it’s probably best if I just keep my candidacy quiet, even though everyone knows who I’m backing—that one sub-mod who treats every single discussion like it's a PhD seminar 😍......
And honestly, we all know exactly who I'm talking about...
But staring into my coffee cup, and judging by how my breakfast went, I have a feeling the usual suspects will end up winning this election again...
Don't get me wrong, they aren't my pick, but I suppose I can find some comfort in that old saying about horses and dust.....

Aaron Harris2 said:What are you getting at—are they supposed to have a seat at the table? 😉

Look, I didn't say we should force them out of the conversation...
I just think the topic you brought up here is more of an outlier than the norm...
And honestly, it’s about fostering actual dialogue, but also acknowledging the sheer guts it takes for someone with a disability to speak up or even ask questions in a space like Reddit....
There are dedicated TV and radio programs specifically for people with disabilities for that exact reason; it isn't about creating ghettos, it’s just addressing a specific need.
It's just easier for them that way.......
Though, if we go down that road, we might as well start giving moderator powers to everyone from Native Americans to people without social security numbers...

Aaron Harris2 said:They would have made himaaaaa... like this, for example?

Please, I’m asking you, just try to get yourselves to read these six pages or so...

This thread stays with me... deep in my memory, in my heart... however you want to put it. 😍

Sure, but that's more about psychology than mechanics, if you catch my drift...
By the way, if I'm remembering correctly, you were a moderator back then—how many trolls did you end up banning on that thread?

Aaron Harris2 said:Could you explain why there needs to be a dedicated sub-forum for this?
I suppose it’s true that when it comes to disability, the best advice or insight often comes from someone living with that reality. But my thought is that for those specific moments, it’s probably better to just start a dedicated thread focused on that community. In the other 95% of discussions here, someone with a disability and someone without one are essentially starting from the same baseline.😉

Maybe it's because people with disabilities have unique requirements...
And regarding your point about how any question or topic can be posted anywhere...
Let's look at it this way—you used to moderate over on Reddit...
Imagine if someone with a disability posted a question about their sex life; what do you think the mods over there would do to them?
Punished for ignorance, or something else? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Hamas is a terrorist organization.
Period.
Anyone using the word "Hamas" in their custom user title deserves a warning to remove it, or they can face a ban.
End of story...
By the way, that guy is just here to stir the pot; he acts out, and then when you give him a taste of his own medicine, he starts crying for sanctions.
Pressuring the political moderators doesn't help, and we all know why that is.
Personally, I find it hard to wrap my head around how the mods over there lack any basic sense of decorum—and I’m not saying that to be rude, it’s just an observation.
My proof? Not a single one of them seems to have bothered asking who or what Hamas actually is...
If I had "SS Assault Squad Chicago" in my custom user title, I’d probably be banned for eternity!
And it just reminds me of how everyone lost their minds over a single letter of the alphabet, while Bono is just a singer 🤣

Justin Allen17 said:No, no, no, kid... That's not how you build a plane—it's never going to take off like that... 😂

Out of everything you listed, none of it matters to me... But I hear you start making threats on here the moment someone touches your precious little ego, so don't push your luck with me... 😉

The fact that your username is all caps, combined with that custom user title and your avatar, pretty much tells me everything I need to know about you.
Look, either you actually have something intelligent to contribute so we can have a real debate, or you should probably just move along......

Michael Adams2 said:Careful now, you might just get a strike if you call them a Hamas supporter—that's just how things work on this forum, I guess.

I know, and honestly, it makes perfect sense....
He parades around acting like a total Hamas supporter, protesting for Palestine, losing his mind after the USA-Turkey game, and he's proud of all of it. But the second someone else applies that same label to him, he gets flagged...
It’s the same story as that one provocateur who acts like everyone else is beneath him, but when you actually call him out, he runs crying to the mods for help.....
I don't blame the moderators, really; they're just struggling to stay on top of the chaos.
I blame these sensitive "heroes." They were the same way during the war—always poking the bear, but once they get slapped back, they flee across the country crying about how Americans are fascists...
The forum isn't the problem here. People are just built this way, and that's that.....

Drew Brooks8 said:It doesn't bother me. But at least I actually post in the old America subforum, whereas you haven't shown up there once, yet here you are, commenting...

Well...
it's the same old story, isn't it?
I haven't really hung out in the politics section for maybe four years now, if I show up at all, it's pretty rare...
And I think those who run the show over there are well aware of that; the reasons behind it are more or less common knowledge...
But honestly, why would I feel the need to justify myself to you?
Punished for ignorance, or something else? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Drew Brooks8 said:You really feel the need to weigh in on absolutely everything, don't you?🙄

Does that specifically worry you, or am I just overthinking things?
Well, since you’re really going to hold me to my word on that one...
Someone out there promoting Hamas really has no business being on a forum like this, let alone trying to lecture anyone else on what's right or wrong.

Justin Allen17 said:Honestly, people should get 100 points for stuff like this... If you want to be an idiot, go right ahead. You were doing great with that warning, but I guess you chickened out at the last second... ☕

Honestly, it might be smarter if you just kept quiet...
And I have no idea why the Admins and mods allow a custom user title like that....
Hamas is a terrorist organization.
Amen!

Since they insist on using the term Mexican Catholics, I don't really see anything wrong with referring to them as jihadists or Turks...
Personally, I used to be against using labels like that, at least until that USA-Turkey game.
But seeing how Muslim Canada celebrated Turkey's victory over America, it seems the conclusion is pretty clear: they feel like they belong to the Turks...
It's actually quite simple......
Larry Cruz51 said:I’m hoping for the same thing myself, since I actually had some contact with His Nobility🙂

If you’re loud enough, stay persistent, and back up everything you say with solid arguments, he’ll eventually back off...
I guess I’m just speaking from my own experience here...
I dealt with him personally a few months ago, and things have been quiet ever since...
Is Todoric thinking about selling Walmart? in Economy ·
The plan seems to be that they’re only offloading a portion of Walmart, while keeping enough equity to maintain control over the whole operation.
The real issue isn't just the ownership structure, though; it's the massive amount of debt Walmart is carrying. I suspect they’ll never actually see the valuation they're asking for...
Right now, suppliers are sitting on unpaid invoices for upwards of 250 days. That’s a pretty massive red flag, if you ask me....
Sheet metal bending software recommendations? in Software ·
AutoCAD.....
A decent graphics card is pretty much non-negotiable here; without one, you’re going to find yourself hitting a wall with half the features missing...
If you check the official AutoCAD documentation, they actually provide a specific list of recommended cards—the ones that work smoothly—versus those that might technically run the software but won't support all the functionality...
I’d suggest staying away from any cards that aren't on that approved list, because if you try to force it, the program just isn't going to perform properly...
I should probably mention, though, that AutoCAD is incredibly expensive, and finding a graphics card that actually supports all the necessary features isn't exactly cheap either...
Jose Barrett said:I've been on this site since yesterday, though I've spent plenty of time on others—even serving as an admin myself. I disagree with the proposal because it would just lead to total anarchy. No moderator is perfect, but there are users out there a hundred times worse than any mod, and that's just something you have to deal with.

Regarding that quoted post, on my old forum (not trying to run an ad here), that user would have been reported for flame wars. On my previous site, they would've slapped them with a preemptive three-day ban just for inciting conflict; even a smile wouldn't have saved them from that. 🙂

It’s probably for the best I wasn't on your forum, and frankly, I couldn't care less about your old site.
We're talking about this specific forum and these moderators, whom you've somehow managed to get to know in just one single day, of course...🤣
Do you report posts and signatures? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Andrew Sanchez572 kaže:

Jeremy Diaz9, I'm sending a kiss your way. 😘
Honestly, whoever gave this guy permission to post on this forum should be held accountable. I mean, really, he shouldn't have the right to say a single word to anyone. 🤮
It feels like you’ve started making things up and lying now. 😳

:

And you’re still shamelessly cherry-picking whatever bits suit your own narrative.🙂

boldhound8 said:So you're gonna report someone's thread, but then you have the nerve to go public with it, acting all high and mighty about "justice and chivalry"? You're just flooding the thread with nonsense and basically begging to get banned. Real classy move.😁

Man, you’re just gonna keep going in circles with him, repeating the same old blah blah blah over and over again... P.S. Keep acting like this and I’m reporting you.☕"So, you're waiting until you push him to the absolute breaking point? Like, you won't stop until he's so triggered he sends you straight to HR at 3 PM, giving you a legitimate, rock-solid reason to file that report?😁

Look, when you crunch the numbers and look at the big picture, there’s only one logical way to handle this. You just use the report feature for exactly what it was designed for. One click, no drama, no long-winded debates, and no formal announcements needed. If you’re really that obsessed with being some kind of "knight in shining armor," then just shoot someone a private message and be done with it. It's not rocket science.🙂

I think you've hit the nail on the head here..
That's exactly what she does.
>She delivers these long monologues, and the second you disagree, she makes sure to add, "Oh, and I'm reporting you."
Then you reply, and she follows through with the report, always adding that little extra sting: "I reported you because you're off-topic."
She acts like some sort of shadow moderator, seemingly unaware that this behavior just ends up making her look bad.
Calling herself "Innocent" is a total oxymoron.
rowdyhawk10 said:I believe I addressed how to handle those specific issues in my previous post.
There would be supervisors in place to prevent inappropriate topics from surfacing. 🙂

Jeremy Diaz9, regarding this... it is actually quite useful to see people's true colors.
Not all threads would turn out that way... I think you're mistaken. Not everyone is prone to being a sycophant. 🙂

You seem to think you'd just fix everything, but I guess that mindset itself is actually the fundamental flaw within your moderation team.
I won't even get into who is actually thinking and who is just talking!
To be completely honest, two of the mods—specifically the head mods—used to be at the very top of my most hated list.
One ended up leaving, while the other is actually a decent guy and a veteran here.
But ever since you and Nicole James have been running things on this Reddit, there hasn't been anyone quite like you.
The two of you really ought to be permabanned rather than being allowed to serve as moderators.
You both serve as prime examples of how ego can surface and cloud one's judgment.
Honestly, you're an embarrassment to the rest of the moderator team.
Satisfied?
And that serves as a response to that one moderator who claims that user complaints are thoroughly reviewed and that the admins evaluate mods based on that feedback....
If that were actually the case, these two wouldn't be in their current positions.
And yeah, that cigar looks good on you—if we're talking about licking boots. 😍
feraltrucker5 said:Well, yeah. Groundbreaking stuff. Truly revolutionary thinking right there. 🙂

hollowtrucker77 already keeps an eye on all the user complaints here. Plus, the admins are watching too. The admins have the ultimate authority to kick a moderator loose, and honestly, we've actually seen moderators get replaced because of certain complaints before. Personally, I think the system works just fine. 🙂

Really?
Maybe try browsing through the complaints and grievances or the ban corner for a bit...
If you filter out the people who are just here to troll and actually look at the serious complaints, then sure, you can say the system works perfectly.
Should I also point out that the issue regarding the PDF policy hasn't been resolved for years now?

Oh right, I guess I'm not basking in pure sunlight, so I clearly can't see the big picture; I'm just stuck in my limited perspective seeing only what suits me.🤣
Anyway, enjoy your self-satisfaction...
You all ask to be told what isn't working, but once someone actually tells you, it's just followed by this orchestrated attempt to convince everyone that my view—or our collective view—is somehow wrong.
And don't even get me started on the top ten dumbest explanations for moderation decisions...
It shouldn't be this hard to just state a single sentence like, "You were penalized for this, period."
Instead, there’s always this push for quasi-academic justifications, as if the whole Reddit community needs a lecture.
Take care!
