Punishing "grammar police in Feedback & Suggestions ·
hollowtrucker77 said:The moderators are struggling here; they’re drowning in a mountain of entries to review, and when you're buried that deep, it's inevitable that things start slipping through the cracks.
Look, don't go thinking you're going to turn into some degenerate or anything along those lines that kids nowadays get obsessed with just by stepping up.
On the contrary, you'll actually be helping out so that our environment—both yours and theirs—becomes a much better and more pleasant place to be.

That’s fair, though I suppose some mods tend to show a certain level of deference toward specific forum users for all sorts of reasons.
In other words, they just never seem to face any consequences...
I should be free again in a couple of days, so I'll send you a link via PM then, just so you can see how the whole thing actually works.
Slang from the old country in Miscellaneous ·
James Hernandez61 said:Just a bunch of spoiled brats and hooligans.

That isn't some regional slang from the old days.
People use that phrase all the time in NYC; they used it back then, and I suspect they always will.

"Sharaytoflin" or "the old bean counter"...
The absolute dumbest slang terms I've ever heard... and they both just mean a wallet.
Issues with online banking - JPMorgan Chase in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
darkmaker94 said:How long does it usually take for an online banking transfer from someone else to actually show up in my balance?

I’d say give it about two or three hours, regardless of which banks are involved... though if it's just moving money between two different accounts at JPMorgan Chase, it'll probably show up in 22 seconds....
I guess business transactions typically clear within two hours if they're submitted before noon; otherwise, you might be looking at the next business day.......
Question about highway workers in Miscellaneous ·
ruggedjackal46 said:There are plenty of mysteries out there, but I’ve been stuck on this one lately:

How do those workers at the highway gas stations actually get home if they live in the opposite direction of traffic? Do they have to drive all the way to the next exit and loop back around, or is there some other way? I guess I'm just wondering.

It depends...
If they’re positioned near an entrance or an exit, they just head out that way.
But if they’re stuck far from an exit, most of those major interstate stops have service roads behind the station.
I can't think of a specific location right now.
It’s kind of like how the garbage trucks handle their routes.
I was actually curious about this myself once, so I asked around, but the specific examples have slipped my mind.

I would venture to suggest that you have completely misdirected your inquiry; you have wandered into the wrong thread entirely, if you ask me.
As I observe the discussion unfolding in the second thread, it appears that the username is being displayed quite clearly and correctly.😍

🤣🤣

👍 Regardless of the circumstances, I shall administer the penalty. 🤣

Just keep doing what you've been doing, and I'll stay perfectly content....

Aaron Harris2 said:Hmm... I could certainly bet that I saw my own name listed as a hero in your previous post, yet somehow, it has completely vanished now... 🙂

I am going to have to issue you a penalty, sorry... 🤣

I think you might have muddied the waters a bit here...
from what I can see on the other thread, the name is clearly listed right where it belongs.😍

Good grief, this whole thread feels like it was specifically designed for suck-ups!😂

Every single moderator over at STFC 😁

I mean, if you actually follow the news on ESPN, you'll understand exactly why I'm even posting this:
Mr. Ex 🤣

There is absolutely no brown-nosing going on here, I assure you.😉

The best part is, I don't even watch football, and my vote definitely wasn't driven by any interest in the sport...

Mr. Ex, President Dick, and the whole crew over at the local factory—definitely them!

PS: I just "always" say exactly what's on my mind, regardless of what anyone else might think about it. Back when those new rules were being rolled out—with all the messy interpretations regarding signatures and such—I held my own views (not particularly great ones, admittedly) and I spoke them plainly.

PPS: @ Tyndal ABB: You really think there isn't?

wow, look at you... a regular intellectual...😂

I'm not playing favorites and I'm not out to get anyone.

Look, I'm not hiding my beef with Anderlon, but none of this—none of what I've said or done—has anything to do with that specific argument. Everything I've put out there is pure fact, and if anyone needs proof, I can lay it all out one by one whenever I feel like it. But why bother? Most people already know the truth anyway...

If I actually wanted to drag certain people into this, this post would look way more brutal and ugly than it does... But I won't. It wouldn't change a thing, and I'm not a coward who's going to air dirty laundry from the (😈) private corner in public. That's exactly why I'm being so damn careful with my words.🙂

One day when I'm older, I'll finally be able to read the Modelatolski corner...
Yep, I can hardly wait....
Double major? in Law ·
Laura Williams4 said:So, let me get this straight. How is it possible for someone to waste five years coasting through a degree, producing absolutely nothing, just to jump to a different program without paying a dime? Meanwhile, I grind through my studies, finish everything right on schedule, and if I want to start a second degree, suddenly the bill comes due.

You see what I mean?

Ah, but you might have missed the fact that there's a massive debate happening about this right now, and I suspect those loopholes might be closing soon. It might all be for nothing...
Double major? in Law ·
Taylor Jones9 said:So why isn't it possible to double major or hit two different universities at once?? Is it because of the way the Bologna system works??

Technically, under the current system, you can pursue two degrees simultaneously, but there's a catch—you usually have to pay tuition for the second one, which isn't really an issue with the way the credits are structured...
I suppose the credit transfer system does make it a bit easier to manage two different paths...
Double major? in Law ·
Laura Williams4 said:Sure, but I’m not talking about doing them at the same time. My question is: once you actually finish one, can you just jump into the next one for free? Do they even bother checking?

That isn't really an option... because when you apply, they send your data over to the Department for verification...
though under the current academic system, there are some advantages....
Naturally, if you pick a related major, you get credit for certain courses, meaning you'd only have to sit for the specific exams you didn't take during your first degree... so it's not like they won't recognize your math credits from somewhere like Aspen🙂, math is still math... and having to pass just a handful of exams per year is basically as close to free as it gets....
Fast shutdown tips? in Software ·
Andrew Davis2 said:👍 They just don't seem to get it...

The whole concept seems to fly right over their heads.
Like, they're acting surprised that a computer can be set to shut down at a specific time.
They don't realize that Windows has had that exact feature since version 3.11.
Instead of actually taking a moment to look at what they already have, they’d rather just bloat their PC with endless junk and then start panicking—screaming "help," "emergency," "urgent," and all that nonsense.
