Iron supplements in Health ·
So, my diagnosis from December 2007 is officially chronic anemia... :-(
I’ve been taking tablets... I started out with two a day, but my stomach just couldn't handle them, so I scaled back to just one per day. If my levels don't start looking better soon, I'm likely going to have to switch to IV iron infusions... basically, direct injections.
It’s pretty depressing, especially since I'm only 21. I can't help but wonder what's going to happen when I eventually get pregnant... how am I supposed to manage the iron requirements then? It's honestly something I don't even want to think about right now.

Maybe if he wasn't constantly getting splashed in the rear, he wouldn't be dealing with that itch...😉

Honestly, I’m stumped too...😁
It would be best if he just sent his waste in for a lab analysis.👍Maybe then we could figure out on this forum why he’s having such a mess of a time every time he hits the bathroom. Perhaps the water isn't actually the culprit... maybe it's just the consistency of his business. Ever heard of fiber?😂

I’ve dealt with this exact headache myself, especially since I’m practically living in the office lately...🤣
my main concern was always making sure everything stayed perfectly clean...

The simplest fix? Just layer some toilet paper in the bowl before you go, and the paper takes the hit instead of the porcelain...👍

It looks to me like you used to be way thinner back in the day...
And now... you're carrying maybe 20 or 30 pounds of extra weight for your height... which isn't actually a huge deal. It’s basically just two or three months of not overindulging and hitting the gym a little bit.
As for all this talk about medical clinics... honestly, I spend a lot of time scrolling through these forums and various threads, and I haven't seen women carrying three times your weight even mention specialized clinics.
...With a little bit of discipline and some self-control, you can essentially build your own clinic right at home.

It’s a bit unsettling because we all know that water isn't exactly sanitary, and it makes me wonder about potential side effects or health risks. 😕 I already deal with occasional hemorrhoids, so I'm a bit concerned.

isss...😂
Look, I get it—this isn't exactly high-brow material, but given the subject matter...
Maybe just wait by the door with a stack of toilet paper ready so you can catch the splash before it reaches you. 😂

I think you hit the nail on the head there. My iron levels have always been pretty bottomed out, but I’ve dropped a significant amount of weight lately, so it's highly likely I'm running low on essential vitamins too.🙄

Some people claim this could point to liver issues, while others swear it's an early warning sign for diabetes, or whatever else.🙏

Honestly, don't sweat it... everything is going to be fine.

Your doctor will give you the full rundown... sure, it could theoretically be a liver issue, but if that were the case, you'd be dealing with a whole host of other symptoms first.
Look, I deal with this myself—if you can even call my chronic anemia a "condition"—and the second I started taking supplements, everything started looking up.😉

Laura Ramirez10 said:Hey everyone, I've noticed something lately...
Basically, my toenails have changed. The surface looks raised—like the nail is thickening—it's turned yellow, and instead of being smooth, it has these horizontal ridges running across it.

It doesn't actually hurt, but I'm definitely worried. I've always had healthy nails, so this is really out of character for me.🤷

Could this be a sign of an underlying health issue? Or is it just some kind of fungus?😕

Help me out here...😠

I used to have perfect nails too, but everything went downhill once my iron levels bottomed out. It sounds exactly like what you're describing—my big toenails got all ridged and uneven, just like yours. They changed quite a bit.
I started taking iron supplements recently, and things are finally returning to normal. It's very possible you're dealing with a vitamin deficiency. You really ought to see a doctor for some blood work to figure out exactly what's missing from your system.😉

Laura Watson77 said:I’m dealing with a difficult situation. Someone very close to me is struggling with an F25 disorder, which points toward schizophrenia. They’ve been in treatment for five years now, but we aren't seeing any real progress. It’s been five different hospitalizations, and there was even a suicide attempt. They’ve cycled through various medications just to stay somewhat stable. The person is 24 and still trying to navigate college. Please, if you have any advice on what I should do—how can the family help pull them out of this state?🤷 Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks for understanding.

Hey...
A woman I know deals with the exact same disorder. She was a high-achieving student with a massive career ahead of her, but everything just fell apart in a single day...
It's the same pattern as your situation...

She went to treatment too, but nothing changed. She refuses to take her prescribed meds unless she feels like it, and that's when she becomes most dangerous—both to herself and everyone around her...
Her elderly parents just can't fight her anymore. They’ve essentially given up because no matter how much they talk, nothing sticks. Since this is rooted in her psyche, talking doesn't fix it...
One day things are fine, the next they aren't...
There are phases where she just locks herself in her room and studies, and studies, and studies...
She only needed two more exams before finishing her degree when this hit...
Now, for five years, she’s been trying to pass those same exams only to fail every time. She just ends up sitting there, aimless...
Her parents didn't tolerate it at first, but once she threatened suicide if they wouldn't let her take the tests, they ran out of ways to argue. Now they feel like paying for her exams is just throwing money down the drain...

The reality is... a person in that state is living entirely within their own head. They barely perceive the world around them...
They act whenever they feel like it. Most of the time—about 90% of it—they simply won't. In those moments, it's honestly better to just keep your distance...
I don't know how to help you specifically, but I wanted to share her story so you can see how someone can end up when they had so much potential... it shouldn't have been this way.😢
She's absolutely out of her mind....
