Anyone used Zorac gel? in Health ·
You actually have a thread dedicated to psoriasis.
I was prescribed Zorac gel, but I gave up on it once I realized it’s built on the same junk as Belosalic. It feels like it could really mess with my skin, not to mention all those side effects.👎

I haven't heard of anyone actually using it effectively, let alone having a great experience. In my opinion, Psorcutan is the only thing worth mentioning, but the insurance companies wouldn't bother putting it on their preferred list over stuff like Belosalic or Zorac, which are honestly disasters...
I can't help but wonder where all the good old acid went 😬

instead, everyone seems to be obsessed with Ketamine these days...

I’ve been struggling with mental illness. I was hospitalized twice; it wasn't until the second time that they finally
figured out what was actually going on. I ended up staying in the hospital for three months.

I can’t say I’m particularly satisfied with my psychiatrist. He just hands me prescriptions without ever really wanting to listen to me. Since money is tight, I stick with him because he's the most affordable option available.

The worst of the illness hit me hardest between the ages of 18 and 23.
I went through some really dark, unstable times...

I feel okay now, though I still find myself daydreaming quite often and trying to "escape" from reality.

I just feel so misunderstood. That has been the hardest part of all...😢 😢 😢 😢 😢

Hey, I hear you.😘
I know a few people dealing with this, and I've seen what the medication does—it can turn someone into a vegetable, leaving them with nothing.

I think it might help if you could get your hands on some books about the condition, perhaps some works by authors specializing in psychology or this specific field.

Since you aren't at the stage where you've completely lost control, you might be able to work on strengthening your mind to resist those "episodes."

Good luck.🙂

Everything you mentioned can be obtained without a prescription.

The ointment is quite effective...
Please, just take a moment to read through the last few pages of this thread...

I sent you all the details via MAC Cosmetics DM.
There’s no need to combine it with anything else, though I have heard people get better results by alternating between Betamethasone and Psorcutan 5 alongside phototherapy.
Personally, I'm done with Betamethasone, so...

swiftwolf18 said:I stopped by my local pharmacy to ask about Psorcutan 5 ointment. They told me it might take about two weeks to order. However, someone mentioned that the pharmacy over in downtown Manhattan can get it in just two or three days. Is that actually realistic?

I could probably have it delivered within 2-3 days...
It costs about $43

rolexx said:Sorry to barge in, but I'm dealing with this too. I've been getting my hands on Psorcutan 5 through some private channels from Germany. Just a quick question—how long is it safe to use, and what should I watch out for?

You can find plenty of info online about that.
Psorcutan 5 can be used over a longer period—usually about three months—provided you don't exceed one tube per week.
It’s best applied to skin that has been pre-treated with oils; it spreads more easily and seems to work better that way.
Apply it in a thin layer without using any occlusive dressings. As for side effects, there's skin thinning, and if you overdo it, I believe it could impact the kidneys or liver...
shadowgardener12 said:"Drug abuse alters the brain, hijacking its motivational systems," claims Dr. Alan Leshner, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, following extensive studies on the brains of various addicts. MRI scans and other modern techniques are finally proving what was assumed for decades and attempted via animal testing—that an addict's brain is physically and chemically distinct from a healthy one. It has been established that a series of neurobiological shifts marks the transition from initial voluntary use to what is termed compulsive addiction. Most significantly, the consumption of cocaine, heroin, nicotine, amphetamines, and other addictive substances disrupts the chemical processes responsible for the pleasure we all experience.

Thank God they’ve finally confirmed what has been common knowledge for ages... and even then, this only covers the physical aspect. On a deeper psychological level, there is much more happening within that motivational system itself...

Nonsense.

Stick to that plan for two weeks and you'll lose those 10 pounds without any fainting spells or anything like that...

swiftwolf18 said:Yeah, phototherapy is my main plan for a couple of weeks from now, but I’m also going to try using Psorcutan 5. Right now, psoriasis covers about five percent of my body, so once I finish a 45 to 60-day course of light therapy, I should be clear for at least six months. I'm just looking to hear from anyone who has experience using Psorcutan 5 cream...

I’ve already mentioned that it works wonders—though personally, I prefer the ointment over the cream; it seems more effective for those of us dealing with this. When paired with phototherapy, the results are fantastic, and it's safe for long-term use...

It’s a world of difference compared to something like Benzagel or Selsun Blue... there's really no comparison

Persistence is everything. You won't see a miracle overnight, but I can promise you that after a week of staying on top of it, your skin will feel noticeably softer and the scaling will start to subside.

For me, the best routine is showering in the evening and following up with oil...

Walter Thompson said:I’ve been reading through what my fellow psoriasis sufferers are posting, and I honestly can't believe it. There are some truly inconsiderate people here. I always viewed this forum as a resource for information or at least an exchange of experiences, yet apparently, you have to practically beg someone just to get the name of a product that they claim helped them.
Through this platform, I am asking you: if you have found a solution, please, I beg you, share it immediately. Don't wait until we are all driven to frustration by having to plead with you... this really isn't a joke to us.

Hey, what happened?
We already have over 20 pages of threads filled with info on medications and treatments. I know because I've written quite a few posts myself, so it would be helpful if you actually read them—I really don't have the energy to keep repeating everything.
There is plenty of info out there about psoriasis, especially if you know English.👍

But I think people still haven't grasped one fundamental thing: psoriasis is now considered a chronic, incurable condition. There simply isn't a prescription out there right now that provides a total cure for those of us dealing with it.

I honestly don't have the heart to keep typing this out. My advice is to move away from the steroid creams, stick to daily showers, use oils, and try phototherapy...

Marin 1 said:There’s a massive difference when it comes to shower gels; most aren't even pH balanced. As for lotions, none of them have done a thing for me. Standard shampoos are a nightmare, too—I’ve tried everything from the extra gentle ones to specialized formulas, but they all irritate my scalp. Only the Vichy shampoo with the red square on the bottle works for me. It’s actually mild enough not to cause irritation.
I think I'll give those oil treatments a shot.

I apply olive oil to my scalp twice a month to help clear away any flaking. Occasionally, I'll use some Betnovate lotion or try a Biologique Recherche Squaphane shampoo.
Regarding shower gels, I've already shared my thoughts, but right now I'm using those milky Dove washes and they work perfectly for me.

Let us know how those oils work out for you; hopefully, they provide some relief...

By the way, I recently started using beeswax salve from Apimela. You can find it at most major grocery stores like Walmart or Target for about five dollars, and honestly, it's been wonderful!

Mark 1 said:I can't agree that just any shower gel will do. It’s common knowledge that many of them strip the skin of moisture—I know from firsthand experience. It would be better to stick to dermo-cosmetic cleansers, as they tend to be much gentler on the skin than standard drugstore brands. After showering, you should apply a base moisturizer or a body milk; quality matters here because there's a massive difference. For instance, Rose's body milk is like trying to spread lime plaster... it's nearly impossible to rub in. Ultimately, everyone should choose what works for them. I haven't tried those specialized dermo-milks yet, as I mostly rely on a basic moisturizer.
🙂

Actually, I disagree. When dealing with chronic psoriasis, oils and salves are actually BETTER than creams. A few doctors have told me that, and since I switched to that routine, my skin has improved significantly. It makes sense to me—something richer and more oily will penetrate deeper than a thin lotion...

To be honest, that basic moisturizer you mentioned feels like watery nothingness to me; it hasn't done anything to nourish or moisturize my skin, but if it works for you, then go ahead.

Regarding those specific dermo-cosmetic lines and their products, believe me, I've tried everything from Aveeno and Eucerin to Bioderma and La Roche-Posay, and I honestly can't see the difference between an Eucerin cleanser and a bottle of Palmolive—they both dry my skin out just the same.

So, the specific gel doesn't matter as much as how you use it. The goal is to gently remove the scales, and then immediately apply an oil—like olive oil, Johnson's, or Nivea—while your skin is still damp. You'll notice the difference instantly. It helps...

Now, I'm not trying to force you to change your mind, but it seems like you're either being stubborn or you just don't have all the facts. Look, I don't claim to have all the answers, but I do know that oils in any form provide immense relief for psoriasis sufferers. If you want, try applying them the way I described and let me know how it goes...

Best,👍

Mark 1 said:What does "proper hygiene" actually mean to you? Which specific lotion or brand are we talking about? Give us some details so we can see. I tried using St. John's Wort oil before, but it didn't do anything...

Just shower with any basic body wash, then apply whatever body oil and lotion you have while your skin is still damp.

The brand doesn't really matter; the key is just hydrating the skin with oil right after you get out of the shower.
How long were you using the St. John's Wort oil? You can't expect results in a day or two. You have to be consistent for at least a few months...

When it comes to Noni juice or whatever you want to call it, German researchers conducted thorough studies and concluded it's mostly just snake oil. That juice is practically worthless.😉

Listen, Lawrence, speaking from my own experience, maintaining proper hygiene and using basic baby oil every day actually made a huge difference for me...
