Classic case of someone who thinks the whole world is out to get them. God forbid they actually take a tiny shred of responsibility for their own mess... because why bother when you can just point fingers at everyone else? It’s pathetic, really. The worst part? They don't even realize they're doing it. They're dead certain they're right, even though they've screwed up at every single turn.
My best friend grew up with a dad exactly like this. Now he's just a total wreck—self-destructive, paranoid, high-strung, and stuck in this constant loop of depression. He blames himself for everything, including things that have absolutely zero connection to him. It kills me to watch him go through it, and I can't imagine how heavy it feels for him.
Anyway, getting off track here... I’ll just say that if the author doesn't get their head checked (assuming there's actually something in there to check), their kids are going to end up in the exact same spot. Not to mention everyone else around them who doesn't deserve any of this crap.
Honestly, it’s nothing out of the ordinary. I’ve heard this plenty of times, and we actually dealt with something similar in my own family... Anyway, the best move is just not to make a huge deal out of it. Don't go running to the pediatrician over this—you'll just end up traumatizing him. Don't force him into anything or lose your cool, at least not right in front of him. Just sit him down and explain that it's totally normal and everyone does it. You could even offer to go to the bathroom with him, though that feels like going a bit overboard if you ask me. Then, maybe start some "therapy" using stuff like prune juice or other NATURAL laxatives. If he needs to wear diapers for a bit, let him.
He’s probably just terrified it’s going to hurt, or it's some other irrational fear. It might sound trivial to us, but for a two-year-old, it’s a massive deal.
It’s a long, exhausting process to get past this, if that's how you want to put it, but things will work out. In the case I know, they finally got it sorted by the time they were in fourth grade. But my memory isn't perfect, and they started dealing with it much later than your kid, plus nobody was there to help them—actually, it was the opposite, everything was made way harder than it needed to be.
Take my advice. I'm telling you this from experience, so I really hope it helps. 🙂
Dana Morales64 said:I honestly feel like just giving up—I can't face life knowing the truth about who my parents actually are. Either I’m going to disappear somewhere far away where nobody knows my name or anything about my past, or maybe I'll just reinvent myself entirely. Because living like this? It’s just not sustainable anymore.
You really wanna talk about shame? Like, you're judging someone because their old man didn't make it big? Maybe take a look at your own life before you start throwing stones at everyone else. Why are you even pressed about it if your family can't even afford a decent car right now?div>
Honestly, I don't want them. At all. Never wanted them, never will. I don't even love people enough to have kids, and let's be real, I'd be a terrible mother anyway—so why bother jumping into that mess? Luckily, my partner is totally on the same page. We've both decided it's just gonna be us and our cats—and we love those cats, bordering on obsession at this point. 😍 It’s actually a relief to see other people feel the same way. There were times I genuinely thought something was wrong with me, like I was some kind of freak... Mostly because people have literally attacked and insulted me more than once just for making this choice. People are so weird.
Ah, hell... my bad... this kind of thing has been happening way too often lately. 😢 Honestly, my head’s been stuck in the clouds, *black as coal*, and I’ve been buried under so much work that it didn't even cross my mind... 😍

The women's Muay Thai classes are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I suspect Mondays might be reserved for more advanced students. I am not entirely sure about the specific times, but I believe they follow the old schedule. Regardless, if I were you, I would stick to Muay Thai rather than Taekwondo. (If you ever find yourself needing that, God forbid...)
Shorts, a T-shirt, and sneakers should be enough to get started. The instructor will let you know when you actually need hand wraps, gloves, or shin guards... And don't just come to watch. That seems a bit pointless. It is better to just try it once; then everything becomes clear. 👍
They will reply to your email... eventually. Everything is shifting right now since the season only kicked off this week.
hey, I'm no troll... 😢 😁
yeah, I guess I'll check out both... just see which one hits better. they both look alright, honestly. idk, can't make up my mind.😁
anyway, does anyone know if there's a Krav Maga gym anywhere in NYC??
I gotta say, you really caught me off guard with the comments and all the help. Usually, those other PDFs can be pretty awkward and honestly just plain rude.. huge thanks for that 😁
@crimsonbison10: so I checked out some clips of those kendo matches and I honestly don't see how you’re supposed to lose weight doing that. It feels weird, like you're barely even moving, yet somehow... yeah, super weird 🙂 though yeah, I'm not really feeling the vibe. I'm aiming for something more intense, you know, where I actually get to move around a ton 😁 and I actually went on YouTube to look up some martial arts stuff (total brain fart, didn't think of that earlier 🙄), and Taekwondo definitely looks the coolest. Even if it is a bit too high-energy for someone as clumsy as me 😁, I'm still gonna give it a shot.
@mistypanther: I totally lost track of time thinking there were still 9 months left, then I realized things have already kicked off, so what's the deal with him 😕 🤣 man, I should probably swing by and practice a bit. Taekwondo and Muay Thai seem awesome... everything else, not so much. Especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—that close contact thing isn't really my scene. I'm more of a long-range type 😁 I sent an email but haven't heard back. Hey, if you happen to know, would they take me if I'm not a student? Ugh, I work and just don't have the energy or the patience for college, but this seems cool and cheap—which is great since my paycheck is basically nonexistent :S
thx for the link, I already spent some time poking around there. It's decent, lots of useful info, especially regarding diet.
anyways, thanks a million again, you guys are legends 😁
EDIT: uh, there's a schedule, but it's from 2006... hopefully it's still valid...
Piercings are easy, I can just take those out whenever. The real headache is the ones I’m not supposed to touch—even the old ones. It sucks if you accidentally bump one against a bruise, then you have to deal with putting the piercing back in... and yeah, that hurts like hell.. I looked into that Kendo stuff and honestly, doesn't seem my vibe. I don't see much footwork involved (which is a huge deal for me), it's mostly just swinging sticks around aimlessly. Seems kind of passive too, and frankly, I don't see how I'd actually drop any weight doing that. o.O Like I said, my main goal is losing weight and getting some muscle definition, but I have zero interest in rotting away in a gym, an aerobics class, or some stupid fitness machine. That whole scene just puts me in a bad mood.. Since I have so much weight to lose anyway, I want it to be something actually interesting, where I get to move my legs a bit 😁 and feel like I'm facing a real challenge instead of this...
Whatever, I'll swing by on Saturday when it opens, just to check things out—tourist style (if that's even allowed). If I find something that actually works for me, great. 🙂 Oh, and where is it exactly? Over by the shopping mall?
Hey, So, here’s the deal. I want to get into some kind of martial arts, just for fun, you know? Nothing crazy. But it can't be insanely expensive—honestly, my bank account is looking pretty pathetic right now. Mostly just looking to drop a few pounds (like 25 lbs, haha), maybe tackle some cellulite if that's even possible, get somewhat fit, and maybe pick up some self-defense skills along the way. Not that it's a huge priority, but hey, if it happens, cool. If not, whatever. I'm skipping the gym because it's mind-numbingly boring, and trying to work out at home is a lost cause since I'm lazy as hell. I tried it once, lasted about two days, then gave up.😳 Full contact isn't really my vibe either. I've got a ton of piercings, especially on my face, and the thought of getting punched in the teeth or having someone rip my rings out sounds like a nightmare.😢 I'm naturally tall and skinny, so things like wrestling or judo are definitely off the table. I don't want to get tackled or pinned down. I'm looking for something more agile—something that builds lean muscle without making me look bulky. Oh, yeah, I’ve never actually trained for anything in my life, aside from those random couple of months I spent riding a bike. Basically, I'm a total beginner... not sure if that matters. From what I've read so far, Taekwondo seems okay. I checked out the thread on it, but people were just arguing over nothing, so that was a complete waste of time. If anyone has a better suggestion, please let me know.🙂 Thanks in advance🙂 and sorry for being such a pain. Typical me...
Zachary Patel6 said:@anteros—reading this feels like reading my own autobiography. I feel exactly the same way. You’re one of those people who doesn't waste words—it makes you a good read. But regardless, that sensation of sinking into hell, the emotional numbness, the total inability to find joy in the little things—I recognize it all. How to escape? I have no clue. I'm just living, waiting to see what time decides to throw at me; if I end up in hell, then I guess it was meant to be. I don't know any other way to live—maybe one day something new will come along. If not, then let it all go to hell. Because, frankly, there's nothing I can do with my own strength. Every once in a while, I catch a tiny glimmer of hope that things might improve. That's the only thing keeping me upright.
But I honestly can't wrap my head around it—if God even exists, how could such a fate be allowed? I don't understand a God like that, and I have no desire to believe in Him. Then again, I realize who am I to judge destiny or play God—which, of course, is the ultimate sin. I just can't do this anymore...
Peter Phillips32 said:Look, I think you're phrasing that a little off, so let me set the record straight here. The real weaklings aren't the ones struggling to cope; they're the ones who refuse to even step up to the plate and face life head-on. You give people the roadmap, you show them what needs to be done, and if they still end up whining and taking the path of least resistance, well, that's on them. It's their own damn fault at that point. Nobody ever promised anyone that life would be a walk in the park; if you want something, you've gotta grind for it. Nothing worth having is just handed to you on a silver platter.
Trust me, I've had my own moments where I felt completely leveled by reality—days where I looked at my own mindset and realized I was totally off base—but honestly, those hits just left me with an even more stubborn drive to go out there and fight for the things that actually matter to me.
Yeah, truth. Most people, as soon as something goes sideways or they hit a tough choice, would rather just lock themselves in their room and sob for days about how they can't cope and how the whole world is out to get them... I've said it before, crying is the path of least resistance. But what kind of life is that? You end up living under a glass dome instead of just stepping up and grabbing control. There isn't some God coming to do your dirty work for you. You're born alone, you die alone, so you might as well figure things out on your own while you're here. There's no other way. Anyway, we're totally drifting off-topic now...
granitefalcon26 said:To me, they’ve always just been weaklings who can't handle the realities of life. And honestly, thinking about Hell just because some girl or woman stopped loving you? That's peak stupidity. Total nonsense. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 It reminds me of how people talk about young patients dealing with schizophrenia. They actually get out there, work hard, and fight through life. They don't just mope around the house like a bunch of wet cats. 😁
I'm definitely with you on this... I probably wouldn't be so aggressive about it, but you're right... Anyway, I get the feeling the OP is still pretty young (didn't specify age), so I get that things feel heavy, but I really don't think this is some massive crisis that warrants jumping off a building, right, Eros? 😉 Maybe it feels like absolute Hell right now, like your life is over, but it's not. Not even close. And I'll stand by that—you just need someone to snap you out of it because you're actually fine, you're just stuck in a bit of a depression/apathy funk. You gotta realize there are people out there going through way, way worse, fighting actual debilitating illnesses, and keeping that in mind might help... maybe not right away, but eventually... Just stop and think for a second... imagine being someone who's seriously sick and has nobody to look out for them. Trust me, I'm not the type to pour my heart out for others and, frankly, I don't give a damn about most people's suffering, but whenever I feel helpless—like when I feel like ending it all because this damn sickness is eating me alive—I remind myself how much worse it could be. People are usually so ungrateful for what they have; they take their own lives for granted, which is terrifying... Think about it... you've got parents who love you, maybe a few friends, and your health. That should be enough. 🙂
Yeah, I feel that too. It’s exactly like you said—you can’t even put a finger on what it actually is. For me, it’s mostly just uncomfortable. It used to happen all the time back when I was a kid, and whenever I’m sick now. Everything just goes black and white, like the world is breaking into pieces or blurring together. I don't know how to explain it, but it feels semi-physical? Like I can feel this weird sensation in my hands, almost like I'm clutching onto chunks of... whatever this is. Does anyone actually know what this is?? At least I know I'm not the only one dealing with this.🙏
Look, I’m not trying to drag you through the mud here—that’s not the point at all. The point is, when you're stuck in a mess, you need someone to give you a reality check and tell you to get your act together, not someone to sit there and nod along to your nonsense... Maybe it sounds harsh or rude to you, but whatever... that's just life. It isn't easy for me either; I've been battling schizophrenia for over 20 years along with all the other crap that comes with it, but I'm not crazy enough to let it spiral me into a depression... now THAT is a shitty situation. If you actually want help, go see a therapist and talk it out so you can get some objective perspective on what's going on with you. You'll feel better once you've talked to a pro... or if you don't want to do that, just talk to a friend, an acquaintance, or your parents. Trust me, it helps.🙂 Honestly, it’s easy to just whine and do nothing about it. Anyone can do that. It takes actual backbone to just say "screw this" and realize things could have been way worse.
@Zachary Patel6 Yeah, age definitely plays a role in all this, and you really ought to know that. -And if you haven't figured it out by now, this is an online forum. I have the freedom to read and write whatever the hell I want, whether you like it or not.
What’s with all the drama? I’m not even bleeding here... you're being so emo 😬
If you feel well enough to crawl out of bed, fire up your PC, and spend your time scrolling through garbage or typing out stupid posts... then fine. Whatever. You're doing just fine ☕
EDIT: How old are you anyway?? (My guess—you aren't even past 18)
Look, if you want to move out, just move out. Find some roommates, split the rent, and boom—done. It’s really not as impossible as people claim when they're just making excuses 🙄 You’re a fresh grad; you can grab a part-time gig to cover the basics... I get it, leaving home sucks even if you want to, because damn, it’s home. You always have food ready and clean laundry waiting, and you don't have to grind just to pay rent... I know people in their 30s who are still living with their parents. It drives them absolutely insane, but they won't leave... even though they totally could because they actually have the cash... they just lack the motivation 🙄 but honestly, they'd kill to live on their own 🙄 Me? I moved to a different city when I was my age, with no degree and nothing to my name, and honestly, I'm doing fine. I hustle, save up for the apartment, bills, groceries, and just scrape by month to month... but nobody tells me what to do, nags me, or complains about anything. I’ve got my freaking freedom 😁 It’s hard for me to be all worked up about it, but at least I wasn't the type to just sit around crying about how awful it is living with my folks without actually doing anything about it... Look, man, I feel for you, but I don't know how else to help besides telling you this... My partner also wants to desperately escape their parents, but they can't because they're only a freshman and balancing work and school is brutal, especially with this whole credit system mess... And they REALLY want to leave, but they just can't figure it out... but the worst part is... their parents have basically forbidden them 😕 from moving out, saying stuff like, "You aren't moving until you finish college, find a career, get a spouse, blah blah blah... then maybe we'll consider if you're actually ready," 😲 It’s super sad and totally messed up, but what can you do? It's not like you can just pack a bag and vanish overnight....
🙏 🙏 Thank God you actually listened to me... honestly, I feel way better now 😁 So how’d it go? Did it look clean, sharp, or professional enough for you? What's the verdict? And what kind of design did they go with? Just curious 🙂
honestly, you clearly have no clue... you didn't even bother to look into it, just rushed in thinking "oh man, I want a tattoo" and now you're scrambling to find someone. if you're gonna be this irresponsible, fine, just go DIY it then. what your dad and his buddy did was old school, basically homemade stuff using needles, thread, and ink. they probably didn't catch anything from each other back then, but things are different now. alright, so you're saying there isn't a single tattoo shop in your town. well, there's definitely one in a nearby city, and if you actually have the cash to get inked, you surely have enough left over for a bus ticket to get there and do it right. plus, btw, no matter where you go, they aren't letting anyone under 18 get tattooed, and honestly? I wouldn't recommend it anyway. you're too young. I'm not trying to lecture you or act like I'm smarter than you, I just don't want to see you screw up. you live with the consequences forever. getting a tattoo removed is insanely expensive and painful as hell... trust me, I've seen some absolute garbage work done by amateurs, and now those people are paying for it. I was stupid once too—didn't do my homework and ended up getting my nose pierced at a jewelry store when I was 13. consequence: cracked cartilage that just keeps degrading as I get older. then I got my tongue pierced at a beauty salon when I was 15 by some woman who had zero idea what she was doing. everything seemed sterile and all, but now my philtrum is totally crooked. everything else I have pierced or tattooed was done at the best studio in Los Angeles, and it never even crosses my mind to settle for some random place just because I'm broke, impatient, or whatever. this is just friendly advice. take it or leave it, whatever. if you listen, great. if not... well, damn.
ruggedpanther64 said:Look, it’s fine, I don't have any allergies or anything like that... I don't have moles all over my body, just those tiny little freckles on my shoulders from when I spend too much time out in the sun... you know how it goes when you get a bit burnt. What I was actually thinking about was going to this guy who works on the street because there isn't a proper tattoo studio in my town. He told me he could handle it for me. I watched him work, and he had everything—needles, gloves, alcohol, all that stuff. It's just that he operates right outside on the boardwalk; you just sit down on a chair, pick out an image, and he gets to work.
😲 😲 😲 nooo... tell me you're joking... please tell me you're kidding me right now. 😲 😲 😲 man, you've totally lost it. Seriously. Getting tattooed under those conditions? In the middle of the street? Who knows what kind of gear he's actually using! You clearly haven't seen how a real tattoo is done... "alcohol," my ass. What kind of alcohol are we even talking about here?? Look, if you want to live in some total backwater nowhere, fine, but you could always save up enough cash to drive to a bigger city nearby and get it done properly... instead of doing it right in the middle of the sidewalk!!! Sorry man, but that actually shocked me. Where do you even live? If you're near Los Angeles, let me know and maybe I can recommend a shop... or maybe somewhere in Chicago, I don't know one off the top of my head but I can ask around.. It's definitely better to wait than to do it like this..👎
So, those so-called "bio-tattoos" that supposedly last like three to five years... Total myth. Honestly, they aren't even a thing. It’s basically just a regular tattoo that fades way too fast, eventually leaving you with this ugly, permanent smudge on your skin that you can't get rid of. You're stuck with a stain for life unless you go back and cover it up with a real tattoo. These things are usually done at nail salons or beauty parlors where people don't actually know what they're doing—they just slap it on for the hell of it. I know a girl who went through with it... I won't even describe how bad it looks now.
As for actual tattoos, most of the stuff people tell you is straight-up garbage. I've got sensitive skin and a pale complexion, and I have two tattoos that look perfectly fine. You just have to take good care of them, and any decent shop will walk you through the whole process. The real trick is picking the right person. Since I don't know where you're located, I can't give specific advice, but whatever you do, stay away from beauty salons. Go to a legitimate studio. Do some digging in your city to find the best spot, listen to the reviews, and talk to people who already have ink. Most reputable shops are strictly about hygiene, but you never really know until you check. One more thing... summer is a terrible time to get tattooed. You can't go swimming in the ocean or a pool for maybe three weeks, and you have to avoid direct sunlight for at least a month or so. If you're impatient and do it anyway... well, you're asking for trouble. Good luck. 👍
