I was watching some old footage of local clubs last night, and it got me thinking about the whole concept of leadership in sports. It feels like nowadays, everything is so much more about individual brand building and personal stats that the "captain" title feels a bit like a formality.
Back when I played amateur ball in college, being named captain wasn't just a title on a roster; it was a massive weight on your shoulders. It meant you were the one who had to pull the guys together when we were down two goals in the rain, or deal with the ref when things got heated. It was about character and being the heartbeat of the squad.
Do you think the traditional idea of a "club captain" still carries the same weight in the modern era, or has it just become a marketing tool for the team?
Hey, Michael Bishop26!
Is there any way I can change my handle from arwen. to neoncyclist74?
Or if that's too much of a leap, maybe just neoncyclist74 (without those annoying little dots at the end)😁
Pretty please with sugar on top! 🙂
Sure thing. Just reach out to hollowtrucker77.
4 words:music is my life😁
I honestly can’t picture myself doing anything without some kind of music playing in the background.
No matter what time of day it is—whenever the situation allows for a second of peace😁—the music is always there.
Especially over the last couple of years, it’s become this essential, non-negotiable part of my daily routine.😁
If it wasn't for the tunes, I think I would have completely lost my way a long time ago.😁
It's happening... ticket is officially in the bag 🎉
can't wait 😁
Rachel Rodriguez21 said:I heard they don't let anyone under 16 into Lollapalooza, does that apply to concerts too or...?🤷
Technically, that rule applies to pretty much all the clubs out here,
but honestly, I don't think it’ll have anything to do with the concert itself.
I honestly thought the tickets were going to be way more expensive than this
I’m really crossing my fingers that I can actually make it👋
Scarlett Johansson hits at 83%
Jessica Simpson and Kate Hudson land around 78%
Rachel Bilson and Angelina Jolie coming in at 76%🙏
I absolutely live for springtime. Honestly, after dragging myself through a long, brutal winter, everything just feels better the second spring finally hits.😁 😁
I used to live for junk food—it was my absolute happy place. Honestly, weight was never even an issue for me back then. But after dealing with some serious liver issues, I’ve basically broken my addiction to all that processed stuff. And let me tell you, I genuinely don't miss those greasy deli meats or whatever else you'd call "unhealthy" food. If someone had told me a few years ago that I'd end up preferring veggies over a steak, I would have called them insane. But here I am, and I can barely believe it myself: I went from being a total foodie to practically a vegetarian. And honestly? I feel great.😁
