Okay, just one more question and then I'm done😁
So, how intense does a workout actually need to be to justify taking Whey and glucose afterward? Especially if someone is still struggling to put on weight...?
My routine is basically three times a week in the afternoon, maybe an hour each session—just body sculpting stuff (dumbbells, lunges, squats, core work)—you know, typical female fitness stuff, nothing at a gym.
(Not counting my morning cardio, either)
Sorry guys, I know I'm being a pain, I just can't seem to make up my mind
So wait... you're saying it doesn't even matter if I skip it? Like, if I drink it without any Glucose, there's basically no point? I guess I'm just wasting my money on this stuff then. 🙂It’s honestly kind of wild how the human body works... it just decides to turn protein into sugar whenever it feels like it...
Nah, I'd rather stay on good terms with my body, I guess. I'm gonna head over to CVS to grab some Glucose so I can mix it up... 😁
The muscles gotta eat. Thanks guys.
Nicholas Kern90 said:Basically, if you just chug whey without any Glucose after a workout, your body’s gonna end up burning that protein just to refill glycogen stores... which, I guess, is a pretty expensive way to get energy. Hmmm. 🙂
Can someone please explain this to me? I'm lost. 🙂 I mean, I’m actually curious here... I don't really get this whole glycogen thing, or how exactly it acts as an energy source.😕
I guess I read something about that once.
Some guy at GNC told me when I was picking up my protein shakes🙂
Honestly, I’m just feeling pretty bummed because I haven't been using glucose yet, even though I'm currently cutting. I am doing some toning work too—I'm hitting the gym and doing cardio every single day—so I'm kind of paranoid that I'll mess everything up and start gaining weight from it. I'm a total newbie at this stuff, so I figured I should probably ask.🙂
Anyway, thanks slytrucker47
An hour of sculpting—squats, lunges, pushups, abs, legs, glutes, and arms with those little bumps. I mean, I am a woman, though.🙂
So, if I just drink my whey without any Glucose after jumping around, is it basically useless??
Hmm, nobody mentioned that when I bought it. I honestly thought it was fine for me and my workouts, just something to grab after training before I get home for dinner.

So you mean there's no point in drinking whey without glucose at all, or just specifically after a workout?
I guess I sometimes just grab it when I'm running low on time or don't have anything else for a snack...
And what if my workout isn't even intense enough and I end up just getting fat off the glucose anyway?😁
But I gotta drink it, damn it.🙂
Taylor King7- I mean, it tastes like cappuccino, which I actually love. I usually stick to Optimum Nutrition.
Quick question:
I used to be a dancer for years, doing intense training maybe 3 or 4 times a week—toning, strength stuff, you know the drill.
I never touched a shake mixed with Glucose, and my muscles looked pretty toned.
So, is that post-workout combo actually necessary, or is it mostly just for those gym rats hitting the weights? (Not trying to start anything here🙂 )
I’m getting back into it now, training 3 times a week—sort of aerobics mixed with toning. I'm still trying to lose weight, too, got a few more pounds to drop, so I'm wondering... do I really need to chug Whey plus Glucose after my sessions?
I haven't done that before, and I'm a bit worried about how it'll hit me if I suddenly add it to my diet (might end up gaining weight from all that afternoon Glucose...).
Anyway, please don't roast me🙂 I'm genuinely curious if you can skip it. I'm not an expert, and I want to know if drinking Whey without Glucose is fine (since I already do that on and off)
Thanks!

Protein calories hit at 4 kcal per gram, which is—get this—exactly the same as carbs. Pretty wild, right?
But I guess hitting high carb numbers is way easier than smashing enough protein.
Maybe I’m not explaining this right since I'm just a total amateur here, but even if the calorie count is technically the same, I'm assuming they aren't really the 'same kind' of calories...
I mean, proteins get absorbed differently by the body, so those calories probably get 'stored' totally differently than carbs do...
Am I onto something here?🤷
but that would require a massive amount of protein, and probably some specific protein supplements too, I guess?
I eat more than 50 grams of oats in the morning😢 just plain oats with a little yogurt. But honestly, 3.4 ounces isn't even enough for me. I usually just pour them in myself😁
The titles below cover everything in this thread🙂 how to lose weight through healthy eating and exercise
It’s all right there if you actually care to look. Good luck! You'll make it, I guess

So, what you're saying is we shouldn't even touch protein unless we're doing some intense workout?😕
I guess proteins are okay for things like dieting—maybe as an afternoon or evening snack to keep things light so you don't gain weight (though, I suppose, it depends on the type of protein).
As for supplements like Whey Protein or those pre-made shakes... honestly, I don't know. Not really my area.
Douglas Reyes4 said:Could just be PMS, honestly.🙂
Are you serious? Even that can be affected by PMS? God, give me a break...😁
So true. Like, they push all these impossible body standards on us—especially on young girls and kids—but then their "healthy" food ads? Total garbage.
It’s hilarious how they promote a healthy lifestyle by pushing fitness cereals that are basically just sugar bombs, while actual oats don't even get a mention. But hey, at least we have this forum.🙂
Anyway, props to those of us actually doing the work to eat real food and figure things out ourselves.😁
Look, girl. Just brew yourself a decent cup of coffee, light a cigarette, and tell yourself once and for all—nobody in this world is going to come along and save you or fix your head!! If someone calls you fat, who cares? If you think you look bad, then yeah, you probably do. I mean, damn, you got lucky enough to be born and given a shot at life, and here you are just throwing it all away!
Just sit down and write out what actually makes you happy, even if it’s just a Godiva chocolate bar or something.
Start thinking about yourself for once and just love who you are! Seriously, if someone doesn't dig you for being you, they don't belong in your life.
I mean, everyone is out there fighting a million different battles every single day; that's just how life works. But there are so many damn good things around you if you'd just bother to notice.
Just start living differently today. Cut out the stuff that stresses you out and focus on the good stuff. Go hit the gym, paint your nails, buy yourself something little, and just crash in front of the TV with some popcorn and a movie. Who cares what people think? You're enjoying yourself, and honestly, the people who actually matter will want to join in. Just look up from your own head for a second and stop obsessing over these flaws you basically made up yourself!!
Wishing you nothing but the absolute best 🙂 Trust me, I've been there... damn, you just gotta keep grinding every day, and even when it feels like none of it matters, you win because you have to. 😁

Sure, you can try to be more outgoing, sign up for a spin class, take some hip-hop dance lessons, or go hiking on the weekends—you can even give yourself a literal slap on the wrist every time you catch yourself staring at a wall for hours while blasting the same playlist on loop—but none of that actually touches the core issue. You could devour every single self-help book in the local library, too, but honestly? You need something much more heavy-duty to actually kick this thing to the curb. We're talking about something closer to a total brain reprogramming—something that forces you to stop following those broken, destructive patterns once and for all...🤷
So, how do I actually reprogram my brain?
Because I've realized that no matter how many rock-solid decisions I make—which usually last a day before that "old," shitty version of me wins again—it's just a constant loop. How do I break out? What actually works? Because, let's be real, willpower isn't cutting it anymore. Not even close.🤷

So, quick question. Those classic dark wash skinny jeans that literally EVERYONE is wearing right now—you know, the ones that look great on both slim and curvy builds? I can’t find them anywhere. Everything I see looks just... weird.
I'm a size 6, about 5'8", and my calves aren't super thin, but they're okay, I guess.
Please help. I almost had a total meltdown downtown today because I ended up buying another pair that I already hate...😢
And yeah, maybe around $133 bucks, give or take.
