The Hills Have Eyes in Movies ·
Honestly, this was just bad. Like, really bad. There were way too many mindless, unrealistic scenes that just didn't fly for me. If you want a real horror fix, just go watch Wrong Turn 1 instead—it’s honestly so much better!
The Eye (2008) in Movies ·
Honestly, such a snooze fest! The only part that actually kept me awake was the ending because it tries to make a point, but looking at the big picture, it’s just not worth your time.
The Last House on the Left in Movies ·
Man, this movie is absolutely killer! It’s easily one of the best in its genre, though honestly? It’s nowhere near as brutal or intense as I Spit on Your Grave.
I Spit on Your Grave (2010) in Movies ·
Man, that movie was absolutely brutal! But honestly? That revenge plot was top-tier.
Hey everyone! Quick question for you all—do I actually need to grab a referral from my primary doctor if I'm planning to head over to a private clinic that doesn't take Medicare?
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
ironangler15 said:So, I figured I’d just share my whole story... maybe someone here can give me an idea of what I'm actually dealing with or what the deal is...

About 7 or 8 years ago, I polished off a huge bag of peanuts—like half a kilo!—and the next day, when I went to use the bathroom, there was blood... and that was the first time I noticed this little lump right by the opening.
Now, I know it wasn't specifically the peanuts that caused it, because honestly, I've always been carrying some extra weight and my diet hasn't exactly been top-tier... so it was probably just bound to show up eventually, right?
That little bump gets itchy and stings sometimes... especially if I eat spicy food or anything with nuts; then it really starts stinging and swelling up. But when I stick to eating healthy stuff (lots of greens and generally good food), I don't feel a thing... I almost forget it's even there! It stays pretty small... basically, it only acts up whenever I go hard on the spicy seasonings.
During those first few years, I'd see blood at least once a month (whenever I ate something heavy or spicy)... but for the last couple of years, it's only happened every 3 or 4 months... (since I haven't touched spicy food in about two years now).
Based on what you guys know, could this be a fistula? It looks kind of pinkish-red... or maybe just more of a pinkish color.

The thing is, I have a massive phobia of doctors—specifically the part where they make you strip down. I just freak out... I get weak and start shaking, which is why I've never actually gone in to get it checked out properly. :/

Man, I have the exact same symptoms! My diagnosis was an anal ulcer, basically a rectal ulcer. Spicy or heavy foods irritate it and cause bleeding, but when I eat light, everything is fine.
Do you have to strain when you're going?
Since you've been dealing with this for such a long time, I really, truly recommend you go get a colonoscopy just to clear the air and stop worrying.
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
Honestly, if you ask me, out of all those different ointments and gels on the market, Hemoclin is the absolute GOAT. It’s easily the most convenient thing I’ve used, too.
That Hemeroprotect stuff they keep pushing in commercials? Total junk. For me, it did absolutely nothing. But with Hemoclin, I swear, after just two applications, the bleeding completely stopped.
The only catch is that I'm still dealing with some issues because I have this recurring fistula near my rectum that keeps triggering new hemorrhoids.
Panic attack in Health ·
People are actually having a huge debate about this over in the Psychology section, so if you really want the deep dive, I’d highly recommend checking it out there!
Flat feet help? in Health ·
Man, I’ve definitely dealt with flat feet too! But honestly? I managed to get things pretty much under control by making a habit out of walking on gravel paths and doing specific foot exercises.
The one thing I try to stay far away from is those orthotic inserts. I used to wear them, but here’s the kicker: they only give you this fake sense of relief while you actually have them in. As soon as you take them out, everything just snaps back to how it was—or sometimes, it actually feels even worse! Your arches are constantly collapsing, and let's be real, the muscles just aren't strong enough on their own.
I think using those inserts is only really justifiable if someone has a job where they’re stuck standing in one spot all day, since that’s when the pressure on your arches is at its absolute peak. But even then, shouldn't you still be working on strengthening things whenever possible? You gotta stretch those feet out, walk on uneven terrain to build up that muscle, and stuff like that. Plus, if you aren't in a situation where you *have* to wear them, you should try to mix it up with regular shoes without inserts so your feet don't get lazy and totally dependent on them.
Western Union in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
So, what's the deal with MoneyGram lately? Back home in the States, I usually handle my transfers through Wells Fargo, but honestly, the fees they charge me with Western Union are just killing me—especially since I'm only sending $50. Does anyone know what the damage would be with MoneyGram for an amount like that? Also, does anyone have the scoop on the exchange rate when converting my USD into the target currency?
Small bump on my hand—what could it be? in Health ·
Man, I’m dealing with the exact same thing! I’ve got this little bump popping up on the outside of my left wrist, right where the forearm meets the hand, and it really acts up whenever I bend my wrist inward.
I hit pull-ups every single day, so who knows? Maybe all that repetitive motion just caused something to pop out or shift around.
The weird part is that it doesn't actually hurt most of the time; I only feel this slight, nagging ache when I push my wrist into those extreme positions at the end of my range of motion.
Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
Ugh, I honestly just can't seem to kick this thing for good! It keeps coming right back at me. I tried using that propolis ointment, but since I'm dealing with internal hemorrhoids, it's such a rollercoaster—it'll settle down for a tiny bit and then boom, it's right back again! 🙄
How does the brain actually work? in Philosophy ·
Look, I’m definitely no expert here, but I’ve got a theory...
It all comes down to whether that info is sitting in your short-term or long-term memory. My take? If it's tucked away in your long-term storage, your brain just spits it out instantly. But if it’s still floating around in short-term memory, you haven't quite "locked it in" yet, so you have to pause and actually think about it a bit.
As for that feeling of "not knowing" something—it actually ties right back to what I just said. If you're missing something that lives in your long-term memory, you’ll realize it immediately because you *know* you don't know it. But when it's stuck in that short-term loop, you're left scratching your head, thinking, "I know it's in there somewhere, but I can't grab it!"
Of course, I'm totally oversimplifying things here; the only time I ever really dug into this kind of stuff was back during my psych classes in college.😁
Personally, I find creative thinking way more fascinating! Like, how does that even work? What kind of wild combo of impulses is firing off inside your skull? Man, the human brain is just incredible.😍
I find myself listening to Dvorák most of the time—he just really hits the spot for me! On the flip side, I find Chopin pretty incredibly boring, to be honest ☕
Hopefully I’m not some kind of psychopath 😁
If I can actually find someone to go with me, man, I am so there! I still can't believe they're actually coming 🙏

A single white hair? in Health ·
stormyheron4 said:Look, sure, stress can make hair start showing some white hairs here and there because you lose pigmentation, but the idea that someone's entire strand—like, several centimeters of hair—just turns white overnight because they had a bad day? Come on, that's just a fairy tale for little kids.

I mean, if we're talking about it happening over a few days, maybe I'd buy it, but changing color in a split second like they said above? ☕Yeah, right!

Melissa Kern55 said:So, I'm just telling you a story I heard once...

Let me guess, you heard it from someone who heard it from... 😁
So, over this past year, I’ve been dealing with this super weird thing where my circulation just completely cuts out in my arm during the night. It usually happens when I fall asleep in one of those awkward half-side positions—you know, one arm tucked underneath me and the other draped over the pillow? Honestly, it is the most disgusting sensation ever! It’s like I can’t feel my hand at all. When I wake up, I’m pulling my arm out from under me like it isn't even mine, almost like it's dead! It feels ice-cold to the touch, too. I have to pull it on top of my chest and rub it vigorously until it finally "wakes up" and the blood starts flowing again. You can actually feel this wave of warmth traveling from your shoulder all the way down. This can happen as many as two times in a single night! I mean, is it really just because I'm putting pressure on it and cutting off the flow, or could there be something deeper going on? Because this never used to happen to me before.
Looking for psychiatrist recommendations in Health ·
So, I’m trying to wrap my head around how this whole "find a decent psychiatrist" thing actually works.
I’ve already got my referral from the doctor, but what’s the next move? Do I just show up at a local hospital and take whoever happens to be on duty? Does that person just slap a diagnosis on me, hand over some meds, and call it a day? And if I feel like the vibe is off or the treatment isn't hitting the mark, can I just hunt for someone else, or is there a smoother way to handle this?
By the way, I’m currently living in Phoenix, so if anyone has some solid, boots-on-the-ground advice for the area, I would seriously appreciate it!
Also, does anyone know how long these referrals actually stay valid? Mine was stamped back on March 10th...
