That’s honestly what I love about it, Rambo—that whole One man Army vibe... I just want to see Rambo mowing down hundreds of soldiers, taking out a helicopter with nothing but a bow and arrow (if I were the screenwriter, I’d have him leap from a tree and tear that chopper apart with his bare hands!), and don't even get me started on Rambo-style field medicine using gunpowder! It’s just sooo gooooood...🙏
And Commando is absolutely legendary too. That scene where he’s getting geared up on the beach is easily one of the greatest cinematic moments ever made... plus, how does he never run out of ammo? Even grenades barely touch him, they just leave a little scratch...👍

Finally, a girl who actually digs action flicks and Rambo! Plus you’re into Rocky too? Now we're talking... 😘
Just a heads up though, Stallone didn't direct all the Rocky movies except for the first one—and even then, the fifth installment was actually directed by a remake of the first guy, John G. Avildsen.
Personally, I always thought CopLand was kind of a miss for him. Aside from Rocky and Rambo, my go-tos are probably Lock Up and Cliffhanger...
The movie isn't terrible, but... I can't exactly call it good either. It’s sitting at a solid 6/10 for me. Nicolas Cage felt pretty stiff in this one, almost like he just didn't feel like acting... The rest of the cast was alright, I guess. Some scenes were just poorly handled, like when Blackheart kills Mack and just waits around for Johnny Blaze to get back to the apartment. Then Blaze walks in like, "Oh, look at that. My best friend is dead on the floor. Anyway, moving on." Like, seriously, show a little emotion here... The villains don't look half bad, but their powers are honestly pretty weak. And that final showdown is... well, it really isn't. It definitely should have been better. But overall, it's a decent enough flick to watch once or twice if you're bored.
As for Daredevil, that movie was basically ruined by the censors. What actually played in theaters and what you see constantly on TV is just the watered-down version the director was forced to make just to hit that PG-13 rating. There’s a Director's cut out there that's about thirty minutes longer, where they swapped out some theatrical scenes for stuff that got cut originally. That version is genuinely much better—it's night and day, really. Honestly, it's one of the best comic book adaptations out there, maybe even the best, if you'll excuse my reverence for Batman Begins.
Stallone is a total legend, and honestly, every single one of his movies I've sat through has been killer.
Rocky is just on another level... I feel like I could rewatch Rocky over and over again and never get bored of it. You've gotta hand it to Stallone for crafting a character like that; if you ask me, it’s easily the greatest film franchise ever made. Even those weird scenes that would probably feel totally ridiculous in any other movie—like that moment in Rocky III where he's training with Apollo while wearing that questionable black tank top—they don't even feel funny here, they just work... That's why Rocky=👍 👍
I honestly think this movie is great, easily one of the best of those teen comedies out there... I really dug Vinnie Jones playing the leader of the hooligans, too. And that song Scotty Doesn't Know is such a banger. As for the whole thing poking fun at Eastern Europe, I don't think we have much room to complain... I mean, how do we usually picture Americans? Probably just as a bunch of clueless buffoons who spend all day stuffing their faces with burgers and staring at the TV. That’s basically how they see us, right? At the end of the day, it's a parody, so obviously things get exaggerated... personally, I didn't feel insulted at all, if anything, that was actually my favorite part of the whole film...
David Price5 said:I don't know about you, but I just don't see Bruce Wayne as some kind of genius scientist or intellectual type... maybe it's just because of those Evil Dead movies he was in...
Honestly, I think Bruce could handle it, since the guy has played so many different roles over the years... I'd say the main reason he didn't end up being Batman was probably just because he wasn't big enough of a star back then. Though, maybe things would've turned out better if he hadn't...
I’m actually more of an Arnold Vosloo fan myself, honestly... I feel like the first two movies are pretty much neck and neck in terms of quality, but that third one... yeah, not so much.
Henry Campbell5 said:If you ask me, it’s basically the same bullshit as when some buddy recommends a flick just because they trust their taste, or maybe they just liked it because there was a massive shootout, the cars were flying everywhere, and the lead actress was hot...
That’s why I don't really take my friends' word for anything when it comes to movies. I mean, sure, if a buddy tells me a certain film is trash, I might go into it with a little bit of skepticism, but I’m never going to skip a movie just because of someone else's opinion...
I actually have this one friend whose taste is almost identical to mine. We sat through a movie together once where he absolutely hated it, but personally, I thought it was pretty decent, even good. If I had actually listened to him, I would've missed out on a perfectly fine movie...
I read the reviews, sure, but I NEVER, and I mean never, let them dictate my mood. How is some stranger supposed to tell me if a movie is actually good or total trash? They can't... I won't truly know until I sit down and watch it myself.
Though, in my experience, if the critics absolutely hate on a flick, there's a pretty good chance it's actually great. I've sat through a ton of movies that got trashed by the pros, yet I’ve never personally felt disappointed... Meanwhile, all those "masterpieces" they rave about usually end up being a complete waste of my time.
Anthony Rivera12 said:I'm with you—Michael Bay is a solid director, at least in my book. He's a great pick to handle Transformers. Just look back at that action sequence in Pearl Harbor—even if the movie itself didn't totally grab me—where the attack hits the US Navy. The destruction effects were stunning, and honestly, that's exactly what a movie like Transformers needs. My real worry, though, is that the plot might lean too heavily on the human characters; from what I saw in the trailer, that seems to be the direction they're heading.
It feels like people are going to play a massive role in the movie. Honestly, I'm not really feeling that direction, though I wouldn't mind if they actually managed to weave it into the plot properly. My biggest fear is them shoving some cringey teenage romance or those dumb high school drama tropes down our throats—you know, stuff like you see all over TV in shows like The O.C., Tree Hill, or Smallville. Just some predictable nonsense where the guy is obsessed with a girl who doesn't give him the time of day, he's moping around being all depressed, then suddenly some evil Decepticons show up, and he proves his love by doing something heroic, and they run away together, or whatever...
I'm just praying Bay is a bit smarter than that...
Michael Biehn or Corporal Dwayne Hicks in Alien 3. After everything he went through with his squad, we just see his hibernation pod pierced by some random metal rod, with nothing left but poor Dwayne's name on it. Killed by a freaking pipe. It's honestly pretty grim...
Then there's Michael again as Kyle Reese in the first Terminator. *1. sniff*
And finally, Michael playing Commander Anderson in The Rock. Total overkill for a poster, but hey, at least he goes out with some dignity...
Plus you've got Bruce Campbell as Ash in the Director's cut of Army of Darkness. He could also pull off Elvis Presley in Bubba Ho-Tep...
Richard Wilson4 said:I'm a huge fan of Transformers, but I've got this nagging fear that we're just gonna get a bunch of flashy CGI slapped onto a hollow story. Knowing the director, that's a pretty safe bet...
See, that’s exactly why I’m actually looking forward to this, since Michael Bay is at the helm. In my book, the guy directed the best action flick ever made with The Rock, then followed it up with The Island, and even if you aren't a die-hard fan, Bad Boys and Armageddon aren't half bad either. I haven't sat through Pearl Harbor yet...
Plus, with Steven Spielberg producing, there's no way this flopping isn't almost impossible. Though, if I had it my way, I'd throw James Cameron into the production mix too, just to make sure it's an absolute masterpiece...
Saw I, Saw II, maybe a little less than that... It’s really only at the very end of the first one, when Jigsaw finally gets up off that bathroom floor, that you actually stop and think: Wait, seriously? Like, what kind of psycho spends the entire movie just lying there on a toilet floor, and why even bother...? It never even crossed my mind... That was the last film that actually managed to catch me off guard.
