Rachel Williams said:Nobody’s really ready for this stuff... it is what it is, and we just have to dig in and deal with it

I can't exactly opt out of this life and sign up for a different one—we're stuck right where we are, so let's just roll with it

Can't get Bluetooth working on my desktop PC in IT Support ·
... so, the Wi-Fi is working fine and everything seems okay on the surface. I just picked up this little portable speaker
Belkin and my computer recognizes it via Wi-Fi, even downloads the driver, but that
pop-up window for the PIN just won't show up—which means I can't actually connect. It's stuck.

ANYONE HAVE A CLUE? 😵

By the way, the speaker works perfectly when I use a cable—those 4w are actually surprisingly loud!

p.s.

When I try hooking the speaker up to my TV, the volume stays cranked at max and there's just no way
to turn it down.🤦

pp.ss.

I also just realized it won't pair with my new phone, a Samsung Galaxy S series.

YouTube has no sound—any fixes? in IT Support ·
... I ran a scan with Norton, but I have no clue why my system just locked up on me—it was such a struggle to get it running again 🤦
And I can't even update Adobe Flash Player because Google Chrome handles that automatically, plus CCleaner did its thing and now everything is running smooth as silk, thank goodness

I can't get my music to play because the audio is totally cut off, plus the bottom toolbar is completely frozen up
so I can't click anything or open any menus. It’s happening on a ton of my tracks—not all of them, but enough to be a massive pain.

Thanks a million for the help
Diaspora Subforum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
... you can say whatever you want, but they basically nuked the diaspora chat—completely tore it apart—and fired all the good storytellers, the MODERATORS.
We used to have some pretty wild stuff happening here, sometimes even going overboard, but we actually knew how to chill out and de-escalate things when they got heated.
It started with getting rid of the main chat, which was totally UNNECESSARY, because if that chat had any purpose at all, it was being the hub for the diaspora—especially considering
all the different time zones we deal with. Now we’ve just got these fragmented chats, and honestly, I don't even know what the point of them is. It feels like some "divide and conquer" strategy
where everything is split up by territory—like, hey, where's the chat for the EU? So congrats, dear moderators, you finally got the diaspora you wanted: a non-existent one, just so you wouldn't have to
deal with too much noise, especially since with your excessive deleting, there isn't anything meaningful left to talk about anyway.
Diaspora Moderator - Ironing Man in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I honestly feel like if we actually want the American Diaspora to move past this dead end and stop the endless
blah blah blah from those people calling themselves moderators, we—the actual users—need to step up and focus on
real topics. So, here's the plan:

- Stop answering all those stupid, boring, useless, repetitive questions. If we don't, there won't be any
pointless discussions wasting everyone's precious time—time that could be spent doing much better things,
I think it's high time
that we stop letting ourselves get provoked or worn down by total nonsense and falling for it like some kind of... well, you know...😁

- We need to be way more active in the threads divided BY COUNTRY. Start posting about what’s actually
IMPORTANT (to you) happening right now—whether it's politics, culture, sports, or the food scene in that specific country
so the conversation actually moves forward. Since we're all watching everything from the other side of the fence anyway,

- In the CHAT, besides just saying "hi," checking the weather, or asking what time it is, recipes, music, and random info...
we could talk about WHO WENT WHERE, concerts, art shows, various events people want to hit up, restaurants, or even just good wine and food you've had lately...

- We should probably find the best ways to avoid certain arguments—at least in the Diaspora, we know you can't win against people who are being stubborn, and you always end up losing.😁

- Whether we want to or not, NOBODY is stopping us from making GOOD posts and only responding to stuff that's actually worth it.😍

frozenseal55 said:And it’s irritating—honestly, it couldn't be any more annoying. Eventually, you find yourself rarely even visiting the forum; you just skim through the threads, see the same repetitive stuff over and over, maybe open one or two, and then dodge the rest in a wide arc just to get out of there.
You can't even go to the CHAT because apparently, you have to stick to specific topics there too 😕 ... and good grief, how am I supposed to know how to troll in a chat if I have to follow rules? 😕

Diaspora Moderator - Ironing Man in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, ambermason16 shows up after being gone for a whole month and—boom—instant chaos. Suddenly, posts are getting deleted left and right without any actual logic behind it. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this one—how exactly am I supposed to know when I'm trolling or going off-topic? Because honestly, how can you hand out warnings and red cards when the conversation never even stays on one track long enough to develop? It just shifts every time someone jumps in.

Just look at that intervention—or should I call it an ULTIMATUM—from ambermason16. The vocabulary she chose, that rude and insulting way she talks down to everyone here... it says everything you need to know about her personal class, not to mention how much she "cares" about the diaspora. After seeing her act like that, I've honestly lost my appetite for this forum.
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Just got a new PC running Windows 7 and it’s already acting up 😕... It just FREEZES on me—totally unresponsive,
so I have to hard reboot it... and leave it like that...

Also, does Windows 7 have any way to move icons on the desktop like we used to do in Windows XP? You know, centering them, sticking them to the left,
moving things to the right, or just arranging a bunch of icons however you want...

Thanks to all the experts out there 🙏🙏
Dealing with hip osteoarthritis? in Health ·
Kenneth Bailey64 said:The title pretty much speaks for itself. I’m 23 years old and quite an active soccer player, but I was recently hit with a diagnosis of hip osteoarthritis. I was wondering if anyone else here has dealt with such a diagnosis at this stage of their life? Beyond the standard advice my orthopedic surgeon already gave me—which basically boils down to limiting heavy impact, sticking to mobility work, and focusing on strengthening my quadriceps—is there anything else I should be doing to manage this?

...it sucks, but so many young people are dealing with this nowadays—it used to be something you only saw in older folks. I actually had to get both hips replaced before I even hit 50, and it wasn't even optional—it was an absolute emergency. Though, I know some people manage to hold off for years...🤷
...just go swimming, watch the weight, and try not to gain anything extra. That's basically it.😠

shadowtiger said:Did anyone catch the cross-examination where Vojislav Šešelj tore into those "expert" witnesses regarding hate speech? Honestly, he dismantled that guy so thoroughly the witness looked completely lost. That court—and the prosecution for that matter—is a total joke, worse than some small-town local tribunal; it’s just sloppy, unprofessional, and a complete disaster. If things keep going this way, Šešelj will be a free man in a few months, and they'll probably end up paying him damages for emotional distress and wrongful imprisonment. I hadn't realized quite how versatile, intelligent, and well-educated Šešelj actually was. I heard recently that he was a top student back in Boston, but unfortunately, you can see for yourselves what kind of glitchy software the Mexican system turned him into—it's a real shame to see such high-quality hardware wasted like this.

😱 This is awesome for those of us living abroad—it makes following the trial so much easier. Are you guys gonna keep posting daily updates from the court on this forum? I’d love to have the whole collection... I pretty much archived everything from the Maddox trials recently.
Cheers and keep it up. 🙂

We don't actually know that much, but hey—at least we’re all equal in our total lack of knowledge.

Is ignorance actually a blessing?
A blessing... from who, though? Or is being ignorant just a free pass from God to go out and do all sorts of garbage and injustice?
Honestly, humans are just animals that *think* they’re thinking.
Ignorance is negative—it can't be a "blessing," because blessings are positive.
Ignorance is the exact opposite of knowledge, and knowledge is power... the kind of power you need to realize that ignorance is basically the enemy of common sense.
Being ignorant just kills communication, and let's be real, communication is the biggest driver for people and everything else going on around us.
