Handball 2010 EP: America vs. Denmark 27:23 in Other Sports ·
We’re going to absolutely crush you, Dance, with a score of 32 to 32.
Even with all this support, there's just nothing we can do for Zeljko Veli.
🙄

The man is telling the truth. 🙂He’s already counted us in. Loss. If that Dane's team loses and somehow bumps us into the semifinals, then we'll see.
Chris Lopez59 said:Go back and look at the points table again. Factor in the officiating too—that "wind at their backs" situation—then take another look at what you just typed. 'tailwind help', then re-read your own argument.

A tailwind for Iceland? 🙄
In my view, Iceland was one of the standout teams during this tournament. They absolutely earned their spot in the semifinals. I’m hoping they make it through alongside us.
Chris Lopez59 said:Let’s put it this way: if we don't beat Team USA, whether they’re hosting or not, we haven't earned a spot in the semifinals. Fair enough?

Even Iceland hasn't beaten them yet, but based on how they've played so far, they deserve a semifinal spot more than Denmark, Norway... or even us.

Valentino or Renato? Honestly, the guy just can't make up his mind.

First, we need to reach a point where we actually have the luxury of "choosing" our path by winning both upcoming matches. But let’s be honest: regardless of which matchup we end up facing—whether it's France or Poland—we are going to be in for an absolute nightmare.
The smartest move right now would be to bench the players who are clearly running on fumes. Sure, resting them might hurt our standing against Iceland or Norway in the short term, but we can't afford to burn out our best talent.

Forget those endless calculations. It's time to stop overthinking the numbers and just focus on Iceland.
We might as well wrap this group up. France and Poland are moving on, and honestly, it doesn't even matter who finishes first or second...
Raymond Palmer8 said:The Spaniards are barely recognizable right now, and honestly, even the Americans could have capitalized more on how bad things were going for Spain. In the second half, the Spaniards can only improve 😁

They just couldn't this time. 🙂

😍
Come on now, let’s not turn our backs on them just because they’ve had a few bad seasons. It’s common sense—you stick by your team through the highs and the lows.😁
The priority has to be taking down Iceland. If we pull off that win, we’ll be sitting pretty with all the momentum on our side.
That said, you have to give massive respect to the squad that absolutely demolished Denmark. They were completely dominating their opponents right up until the 57th minute, but then they just seemed to lose their focus out of nowhere.

Looking at this from a distance, it might actually have been better if the Mexicans had moved on. They would’ve finished with just one point, lost their momentum, and their chances for the semifinals would have been slim. Plus, their fans wouldn't be as hyper as ours are right now, buying up tickets in advance and creating such an overwhelming atmosphere in the arena.
The Austrians are likely riding a wave of euphoria right now. They've shifted their strategy; they have nothing left to lose. They'll play without any pressure to prove themselves, and if things don't start clicking early on...

That said, I believe we'll find it easier to handle Austria than the three opponents we've faced so far.
Let’s go, brothers. We don't surrender.
A brutal match between the Germans and the Swedes, someone should check this out
they’re going to end up putting up over 40 goals at this rate
The Germans look better so far
granitefox16 said:The Russians are pretty predictable, much like the Mexicans; they always get hammered from the perimeter. We really should have come out ahead of Norway. It’s a shame the Norwegians won by a larger margin than we did, but honestly, we just need to beat the Russians and call it a day.

That isn't even a huge deal in terms of the group standings. If we beat Russia, we carry over 4 points; if we lose, we carry over 2. The only real danger is if a three-way tie develops between Norway, Russia, and America, leaving us on the outside looking in for the semifinals—but I don't see that happening.
The French will be thrilled if they blow it tonight. If that happens, even a perfect run from here on out won't guarantee them a spot in the semifinals. They'll be completely at the mercy of the bracket... provided the Canadians actually manage to pull through.
Gregory Chavez said:Equal, nice work 👋

If we pull off a win tonight, we're looking at first place. ☕

But if we lose...

Austria is on fire right now. They’ve proven they belong, and heading into that matchup against Mexico, they’ll be playing with an incredible amount of momentum. If Mexico ends up dropping a convincing game to Denmark, even just grabbing a single point against their rivals should be enough to see them through.
Man, Iceland really blew it. They should have walked away with four points, but they let it slip through their fingers by conceding back-to-back goals in the final minutes—going from being up to being down by three and four. Instead, they only managed to scrape two points out of it, and now even qualifying is looking like a massive question mark.
It’s a real shame for Iceland. They are a true handball powerhouse—it’s practically their national sport. They’ve always been hovering right there near the top tier, though they've only managed to snag a medal once in their history.
The Austrians put up more of a fight today than anyone anticipated, though I doubt they'll manage to claw back even a single point

With today's loss, the Americans are basically out of the running in our group

Well, they choked in the World Cup semifinals last year at the very last second...
