Yeah, sure, but it's way more fun when you actually compare things... 😬
Susan Clark10 said:The top 3 things I ALWAYS forget when I'm packing:
1. tweezers
2. nail polish remover
3. sunglasses
And an "L"... I thought you were missing that on your trip too? 😬
Three things that never even crossed my mind to pack, and besides number 1, I don't even own them—well, I think that's true for 2, and for 3 I'm positive.
1. tweezers
2. nail polish remover
3. sunglasses

1. Jacques Brel - Brel (yeah, blue, with clouds)
2. Nick Drake - time of no reply
3. Leonard Cohen - The Songs of Leonard Cohen
4. Jona Mitchell - Blue
5. Inti-Illimani - Inti-Illimani 2
Adam Moore said:plus ever since I got a girlfriend, I haven't really been checking out other people's abs 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍
🙄 Well, that’s exactly when you need it—to realize how lucky you are to be with... well, based on all those daily comparisons, the absolute hottest person around... 🙂
Sandra Chase16 said:uh, not really. just picture Jacques Brel with those skinny little legs of his, lounging on the hood of a Ford Mustang
😢 😢 fate is a cruel mistress...

Adam Moore said:1. violets
2. tanned girl abs
😲 Look, let's be clear here—I love violets, they might actually be my favorite flower and all, but for God's sake, how could they possibly rank higher than number two for any sane man? 😕
Sandra Chase16 said:Isn't that just lovely?
The leopard is ready to pounce, legs all tense like a performer right before they hit the stage...
A leopard? Is that like that thing I mentioned in my post about country music? 🙂😍
stormyviper11 said:Look, once that Ford Mustang shows up for my test drive next week, Pasha is mine. I’ve even got the lyrics down. Basically, anything that walks through my passenger door better be rocking at least 4-inch heels with some kind of leopard print on them.
Susan Clark10 said:I can't even believe it 😍 before that concert I actually asked Divljan why they never played 'chocolate' and he just looked at me and said, 'because it's not my song.' I remember right during that one 😁 encore, I was absolutely floored when he finally played it. That show was 👍 👍 👍
Honestly, man, I went absolutely wild at the first gig at the local arena. I grabbed a spot dead center right in front of the stage and, aside from maybe one bathroom break, I didn't budge for the entire set (there were some crowd shots on Divljan's site where I'm clearly the guy right in the middle). Then there was that college orientation party where it was basically the same vibe—partying all through the weekend—and when KSET finally took the stage, I couldn't get my feet off the floor. It was the first concert where I actually stayed put instead of running away or acting like a jerk. Which, naturally, means those first three shows are probably my fuzzier memories... 😉

- Having to basically use sandpaper just to get that purple tint off my lips
The absolute worst, most loathsome, revolting part about bamboo is:
- Bamboo itself... 😬
Man, one of my absolute bucket list items is just to hear a gas station bell ring.
As long as I don't see Knute wandering around with a harpoon nearby... 😉
The wildest part for me was back when that guy from Manitoba ended his set by basically saying he was sorry, but they seriously just didn't know how to play anything else... 🤣
ruggedcrane22 said:I love funk, is that bad taste?
mah. 😬
Man, what's even worse is you're into jazz too. 😲
Raymond Barrett12 said:It’s funny how they both end up splitting third place... 😁 Like there isn't even a fourth place option to worry about missing out on the podium... 😂
Honestly, Narantxa is just a closet boxing fan at heart—probably prefers sports where they hand out two bronze medals instead of one... 😬
I don't really bother with "best of" or "worst of" lists, but citrus is definitely the guy who hates almost every single musician I actually like. Except for boldscout72, but he hates everyone, so that doesn't really count... 🙂
Raymond Barrett12 said:Damn. You missed out on both chances... 👍
It reminds me of that whole mess back in Hanover when the Mekons basically snapped at the end of their show because the crowd was being lukewarm—which, honestly, fits that North German vibe perfectly—and they just spat out, "No encore for you!" 😬
Hehe... It was kind of similar with Franz during a gig in Lap back in the early nineties. For some reason, the energy just wasn't there, they couldn't connect with the crowd, so they just cut the set short and left without even playing a Bob Dylan cover... Not everyone is going to be happy all the time, things just don't always click...
Nicholas Perez33 said:The top 3 users here with actual decent taste in music:
1. mainscream 😍
2. ya:raan 🙂
3. monobrow/doomsday 🙂
And what about the absolute worst? Who’s at the bottom of that list??? 🙂 😬
Adam Moore said:I mean, Trondheim definitely fits that whole vibe, even if they kind of missed the mark a little bit when it comes to the actual history... 😉
Look, do I really need to put it in writing that I’m an old-timer? Fine. If you need me to officially confirm that I'm a total dinosaur, there it is. Anything published after the heyday of Comic Con, Comic Art, Comic Gems, or Duck is basically ancient history to me. I don't know the new stuff well enough to even think about putting it on a list... 😠 😬
Oops... Look, I did put it in writing, okay? I definitely confirmed it... 😳
I mean, let’s be real, I’m mostly talking about that classic Franco-Belgian caricature style—you know, those comics from the absolute golden age. But honestly? Those are my favorites anyway...
Gregory Garcia said:Natasha 😍
If she doesn't pop up in your top 10, then you've basically just exposed your entire personality...😁
Nah, she's not on there.
Though, if you check out my blog, I actually have this one song about flight attendants where she, uh... gets a mention. 😳
I don’t usually care for encores, but there are those rare moments where I actually feel lucky to be part of the crowd that forces a band into an unplanned extra set. Like that time we saw Divljan during their first show at KSET—you know, that one they just crashed right in the middle of freshman week? We pushed them into five or six encores. It was so wild, I even found myself picking up my guitar later and trying to remember the chords to "Chocolate," which I hadn't touched in twenty years... totally spontaneous, just like that. Or that last Hungry Franz gig in the city, back when they played the OTV Home—I've been to enough of their shows to know they usually just wrap things up with "Hallelujah" and call it a night, but this time we actually talked them into one more encore... You find those moments every once in a while. Not often, but they happen.

Top 5 comic book pets (the sidekicks):
1. Marsupilami
2. The police dog from New York City Tom
3. Tom Cruise's dog
4. Gaston's cat
5. Garovix DMJ
stormyviper11, where's Blackwood? 😢
Anddd... don't forget nosonja, Skvik, Gaston's seagull...
Blackwood — yeah, I knew something major was missing!
Revised list:
1. Gaston
2. Asterix
3. New York City Tom
4. Nova Novator
5. Krcko
6. Black Ideas
7. Blackwood
8. Iznogud
9. Spirou
10. Umpah Pah
Don't go thinking of anything else, unless we include the runda list, but man, if Umpah Pah fell out of the top ten, that would be a straight-up tragedy...
Hey, just a heads up, remember: the original version was Cubitus:

And this one is the New York City (Achilles' heel) version:

Honestly, when it comes to the ranking, there are a few others I actually dig even more than Asterix or Tom Sawyer, but man, those two are objectively top-tier. They’d probably be sitting at the very peak if I wasn't such a massive fanboy for Andrea Franquin—you can tell because three of his works made the cut in my top ten.
Kevin Chavez3, Black Ideas is basically that Franquin comic where he threw in all those jokes that were way too twisted for Gaston and Spirou... Around here, it sometimes pops up under the name Crle. The other one, New Innovator, gets published as Achilles Petlić—the original title is Achilles' heel, I think?—and it's definitely one of my personal favorites. Especially with the American translation, where the neighbor is called Zika Kukumalo. Ronda (can't remember the original title) is just okay; the shorter episodes are kind of a drag, and I might swap it out for Cock-a-doodle-doo or something even more obscure on the list (like Peca and Ceca or even Prpabata and Zortalija)... but thanks to one brilliant long story about trained Nile horses (the ones with the little propeller hats on their heads) that was featured in Comic Gem, it earned its spot in the top 10.
Sandra Chase16: yeah, there are comics that focus solely on Marsupilami, but the best parts are always the pages featuring him (and that squirrel Spip) mostly within Spirou...
