The absolute top things on my bucket list right now:

1. Just wandering through some autumn woods and stumbling upon a colony of mist-dwellers
2. Wandering through the fall leaves and hitting a patch of forest spirits
3. Taking a stroll through an autumn forest and running into a swarm of giant gliders
4. Walking through the woods in the fall and finding a grove of blue sprites
5. Honestly? Just walking through an autumn forest... nothing else...

The three albums I was vibing to most tonight:

1. 1. Prince - Parade 2. Prince - Sign o'the Times 😍 😍 😍
2. 2. Prince - Sign o'the Times 😍 😍 it’s creeping up toward 😍
3. 3. Prince - Around The World in a Day 😍 😍 but slowly drifting away from 😍

And here's the eternal mystery: how does someone who spent years churning out absolute garbage manage to catch such a massive wave of inspiration in one short stretch during the mid-eighties, dropping nothing but masterpieces or at least killer albums back-to-back? 😕 It's like nothing else before or after. What kind of cosmic alignment actually happened there? Or did Apolonija and that other one infect him with some kind of temporary creative syphilis? Who knows...

I actually have the exact same cassette that Eric Clapton has. I really should pop it in; it’s been years... It never really drove me to go down any deep rabbit holes or anything, just a few cool tracks and that was it. Though, Bowie did some pretty interesting instrumental stuff and soundtracks later on. Might be worth checking out once I get my Slash gear fixed up, I'll have to hunt for it then.

Maui. Ribafish was teaching geography, so ar Pekka and I decided to drop by. The host asked if we could help him pour some concrete for a little pier, but we both just dodged him and went for a swim instead. We hit the water in our usual styles: he goes in inch by inch through the shallows, while I go for the classic dive off the pier (which, according to anyone who actually knows me, is always freaking hilarious, though I’ve never seen myself do it so I can't really judge). Without goggles, standing on a coastline I don't know, obviously, I can't see a damn thing.
ar Pekka: - You sure it's deep enough?
stormyviper11: - Of course.
The jump. Pure elegance. Poseidon himself parting the waves... the graceful fusion of man... the sea... and underwater rocks.
stormyviper11 (surfacing): - Uh. Not deep enough.
For two months straight, I had three parallel vertical stripes running from my shoulders down to my gut. Luckily, my buddy's sheer bulk acted as a better natural barrier than the Rocky Mountains, so the more sensitive parts of me underneath him didn't even get a chance to touch the rocks.

Gojko Mrnjavčević is basically just a long-winded way of saying "king"... or at least it would be if I wasn't such a total enigma

Manu Chao basically justified his entire existence with that one concert at the Salad venue. It wasn't even about the music, honestly—it was more about the absolute chaos surrounding it. We had Kuniko there, this Japanese woman who was actually kind of short, even by their standards. At one point, she started feeling sick, probably just couldn't catch her breath being surrounded by us Dinarids... Ribafish ended up rushing her over to the ER. They did the whole routine—intervention, IV drip, the works—before realizing it wasn't actually anything serious. Then things just went sideways. It was just pure madness: the ER staff, the cops, us... Since they needed to fill out her info, they had to dig through her purse and find her passport to check her last name. Turns out, her surname is Koma. The doctor apologized for a second, stepped out of the ambulance where Kuniko couldn't see her, and just lost it laughing. Even the cops were buzzing on their radios to other patrols like, "Man, you are not gonna believe this..." 🤣

Summary (which I totally agree with):

The single worst trait in anyone, regardless of where they're from:
1. Being obsessed with their roots...

Alex Rogers91 said:@stormyviper11—where the hell are your Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell and Jean Alesi???? What is wrong with you!?!?!?

Mansell would definitely make the extended list, but I honestly never cared for those other two.

Even if Piquet was one of the absolute greatest geniuses to ever sit in a cockpit. I remember this story where some overeager reporter cornered him before a race: "So, Piquet, are you going for the win today?" And the guy just looks him dead in the eye and says, with a totally straight face, "No, today I'm aiming for eleventh!" 🤣

First, let me clear up the whole thing about my dream of buying a new TV: my brother told me this morning that our old one suddenly started smoking and caught fire last night. I’m thinking there isn't exactly a quick fix for that, which means I’m definitely going to have to grab a new one before the next F1 season kicks off. 🤣

Anyway, regarding racing: I was always rooting for Senna and Ligier. It's not even that I "fanboy" over them, I just follow them exclusively... nothing else really catches my eye. As for favorites among the rest? Montoya, Sato, Alonso. My favorite team? Honestly, none of them. Maybe Ferrari is slightly more interesting than the others, but the sheer amount of drama and hatred between the people inside that team cancels it out, so we're back at zero.

So, here it is: my all-time favorite F1 drivers:

1. Ayrton Senna
2. Didier Pironi
3. Alberto Ascari
4. Michele Alboreto 5. Dan Gurney
5. Michele Alboreto 5. Dan Gurney
6. Juan Manuel Fangio 7. Chris Amon
7. Juan Manuel Fangio 7. Chris Amon
8. Mark Donohue
9. Alessandro Nannini
10. Keke Rosberg

Did you guys honestly expect anything normal?

honestly, that entire first album is fire... anyone who thinks otherwise needs to give it a listen. she's basically Avril Lavigne with a new wave vibe. killer tracks. 👋

napokon nekaj pametan i od ti.

But seriously, please tell me you're joking—how can you have a compilation without Falco? You absolutely need "Rock Me Amadeus" or "Vienna Calling" on there...

Otherwise, if it weren't for Boney M, Falco would basically be the ultimate Euro-pop icon. 🙂

I mean, how can you not love a show that features scenes like this: there’s a bed in the middle of the room, some guy lying naked on his back with his hands handcuffed to the headboard. Sitting on top of him, equally naked, is Samantha. Suddenly, the cops burst in, and the lead officer—completely deadpan—walks up to the bed with handcuffs in hand and asks her, "Ma'am, would you mind removing yours so I can put mine on?" 🤣

🤣 Fair enough. I watched one episode once and thought it was pretty funny. Then, a few months later, I stumbled upon the series again and started watching, right up until I realized it was that exact same episode, so I tapped out. 🤔 Or maybe they just make all the episodes look so similar that I couldn't tell them apart?

Anyway, I had the absolute worst nightmare ever last night. I dreamed I was actually buying a TV! And get this—I wanted to put it in my bedroom! Brrrrrrrrrr.

For those who aren't in the loop: the TV is basically there so I can sit down every two weeks from spring through autumn and watch Formula 1 racing. In the winter, if I'm lucky, maybe some ski jumping. But since they aren't broadcasting it this year, I guess my subconscious decided to give me the creeps instead...

I bet half the guys out there would actually love it though... 😁
[/SIZE]

So, I picked up some Schwarzkopf (or whatever the hell it was called) anti-frizz stuff on sale at Metro. I didn't even bother checking the label... then one day I finally open it and see "hop-based formula." 😍

Miiiiceeek! 👋 That's my kind of brew... 😬
If it's in the bottle, it's on my head.
Dead Carrot said:Why even bring up the Sandinistas? That album has a massive cult following... 🤔

Go check AllMusic... they gave it a pathetic two and a half stars.
We don't actually have that many Sandinista fans.
So yeah, we aren't registering the association...

this is easily one of my top 10 favorite albums
if people hate it, let 'em die.

Yeah, I totally agree that Full House is an underrated band that gets ridiculed way too much. I respect them because they don't try too hard or fake their vibe, but honestly, you could probably combine three of their albums into one decent record and call it a day.
I just keep them in my "solid misses" drawer. They've got some really great tracks here and there, sure...
Jason Chavez32 said:It’s Doctor & the Medics, period. Nothing else even comes close... 😠

My bad. I meant to refer to them, but for some reason, I ended up typing Alice Cooper instead... 🤔 Dammit, what exactly did they just process?...
Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffany's
that one track by Chumbawamba
Spirit in the Sky (either the Norman Greenbaum version or that Zodiac Mindwarp cover)
Scatman
Susan Clark10 said:I’m really feeling this album... honestly, it’s got the best versions of 'Lovesong', 'Fascination Street', and 'Pictures of You' I've ever heard... 🙂

Whatever. All that dreamy, trippy stuff is basically designed to be stretched out into ten-minute chunks just so it can drone on forever. Honestly, the longer they let it drag, the better... 😉

I'm about to go put on Mixed up. No distractions allowed...
English Settlement is an absolute masterpiece. :zaštonepostojinadurenismajli: 🙂
