Can't sleep. Any tips? in Health ·
You aren't the only one dealing with this insomnia thing... Sometimes I just can't drift off for an hour or two for no real reason, even though I usually fall asleep pretty quickly. And then I wake up feeling even more exhausted than when I hit the pillow...

Has it always been like this, or is it a recent thing? Some people fall asleep the second their head hits the mattress, while others struggle for ages. Maybe you've just always been wired this way...
So, I'm sane... finally!! 😂

It’s happened to me plenty of times too. I just could never put my finger on why. Tried explaining it over coffee once, but people just laughed and told me I was making things up. I still remember the first time it hit me. Came home from high school, decided to lie down for a quick nap, and just... drifted off. I was lying on my side, facing the wall, and suddenly I couldn't wake up. There was this faint noise, and I felt completely awake—aware of everything—but totally paralyzed. The worst part was the sensation that someone was standing right behind me, watching. I couldn't see them, though. Even now, I don't know if anyone was actually there. When I finally snapped out of it, the room was empty. Pure terror... That was maybe six or seven years ago, and it's happened five or six more times since then.
As for the hand thing, that happens more often. Even tonight, actually. But it isn't as scary.

Hopefully, that's the last time... hope it's behind me.

It’s also funny how if you watch someone sleep for long enough, they eventually wake up. I’ve done that to people quite a few times, and they almost always stir... assuming we're talking about normal sleeping conditions, not when someone's wasted... 🤣

Anyway, take care.

There was some discussion regarding abortion, so if you haven't seen it yet, maybe one of those details will help...

I don't think I need to lecture you or tell you "don't, don't." You're the one who knows best whether this is right for you. Just take some time to really weigh if it's truly the only way—I certainly hope it isn't—so you aren't left with regrets later...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that whatever you decide, you won't have any regrets...

Anal itching relief? in Health ·
Sam Hall15, I don't get it... you say you're scrubbing too hard and then act surprised when things start itching. It happens to me too—more like a sting, really—whenever I use cheap, rough toilet paper..
Regarding the hemorrhoids, that’s definitely a possibility. They don't always have to be massive lumps; even if they just swell up a tiny bit, it can cause an itch... at least that's how it works for me. I can usually tell if the itch is coming from a small lump forming or if things are actually improving. I guess you just get used to everything eventually. Better this than having to deal with constant issues just to stay healthy...

Or maybe it's just the spicy food? Or are you pulling my leg?
Maybe there are bugs in the woods?! 😂

So, I finally knocked out all those checkups on Friday... and honestly, if people can't handle this, they really shouldn't be worrying about much else...
The first swab takes maybe ten seconds, the second one even less. There's a bit of a sting, but it’s hardly anything special—not particularly uncomfortable or painful...
My only real complaint is that it's a shame the nurses aren't all supermodels with perfect faces... then I'd actually have something to brag about regarding who was holding my "pride" that day... haha😂 🤣

Bottom line, if you're scheduled to go... just be brave. It isn't nearly as painful or awkward as the stuff you read online...

You really didn't need to send me that link about the urethral swab... I hope the rumors aren't true. It’s almost funny reading those girls talk about how painful it is when they clearly haven't actually tried it—if they had, they wouldn't be acting like men who could just power through anything. It’s not the same thing, inserting something into a woman versus a man. Some people are just built differently, so let's face it, this exam isn't going to be exactly pleasant 😉

Just tell me, can I get everything done in one day? And which one goes first? I assume the hospital will tell me, but I figured I'd ask just in case. Also, I don't need to hold my first urine of the morning, right? Because if I do, we're going to have a problem. It's a 45-minute drive to the clinic, and if I don't hit the restroom immediately when I wake up... I'm in trouble

God... what kind of question is that? If you're rubbing your backside, logic says you're overdoing it and now it’s itchy.
If you're doing that, I assume you're gay... and if you are, maybe someone gave you an infection. Because honestly, who else would think to rub their rear like that?!😂
Thanks for the deep dive... honestly, after everything I went through with the amoeba tests and the endoscopy, I just hope this goes smoothly too..
Hopefully they just push it in without any cutting..😂

I guess I need something solid to grip onto during the procedure! Maybe it’d be easier if they just handed me a handle so I could manage it myself... there are so many things to worry about!

Anyway.. thanks again! 🙏

As the title suggests, I’m looking for some advice or insight regarding the following:

I need to get these tests done (per my referral):
1) Urine culture and sensitivity test
2) Urethral swab for Chlamydia, mycoplasma, and ureaplasma
3) PSA test

Regarding the urine culture, does it matter if I use the first catch, or is it irrelevant? My doctor didn't specify... Also, what actually happens during a urethral swab or a PSA test? And can anyone tell me if I should fast or avoid certain foods and drinks beforehand?

I know people will say I should have just asked my doctor... but if I had, I wouldn't be bothering you all right now. 🤣

Thanks for any input. 🙏

Well, I figured I’d chime in and let you know you aren't alone in this.
I’ve actually posted about my own struggles under various threads before. Most of what you're going through? Yeah, I can definitely relate...
I've been through a mountain of tests. To name a few: colonoscopies (all clear), abdominal ultrasounds (fine), endoscopies (just some mild chronic gastritis, tested negative for H. pylori), and even those amoeba provocations—which were easily the worst part—but all came back normal. Then there were the urine tests; nothing at first, then just a negligible amount of bacteria that didn't even require treatment. I've cycled through two different gastroenterologists and a couple of GPs, too. They all basically told me it wasn't a real issue since there’s no blood in my stool or debilitating pain, so I should just "wait until life settles down" or whatever...
Right now, I'm taking Microsoft, though it doesn't feel much better. Two tablets, three times a day, for three months now. I've probably tried ten different types of meds by this point... nothing works.
It isn't even that it hurts... it's just embarrassing. When my stomach starts cramping and twisting during a lecture or an exam... it's uncomfortable. It happens constantly. I can't focus on my work or studying because I'm just sitting there waiting for the next wave to hit. In the mornings, it's a rush to the restroom like I'm about to burst, but then it's quiet at night. We could talk about my issues until tomorrow...
So, you aren't the only one. There are plenty of us dealing with this. I completely get it. The problem is real, yet we can't find a way to fix it.
If I ever figure out a solution, I'll let you know.

Ideal distance between head and monitor? in Health ·
Hi everyone.
I know this is a crowded topic and everyone’s got an opinion, but I’d love to hear yours.
Hopefully, we haven't covered this already...

Basically, what’s the sweet spot for distance between your eyes and the screen (whether it's an old CRT or a modern LCD) to minimize eye strain?
Too close is bad, but too far isn't ideal either...

Thanks for the input. 🙏

Calling it a parasite?! Well, that certainly makes me feel a bit worse knowing I used to be one too... haha... 🤣 😁

So how does that even work?! Is the oxygen getting to them through the blood or what?? I mean, once you're near the end of the pregnancy and the baby is already "big"...
Psychiatrist recommendations in V? in Health ·
Honestly, I don't have much of a high opinion regarding Vzh hospitals or their doctors either. There are certainly good people in there, but...
As for psychiatry, I haven't had any reason to go yet... though if this lifestyle keeps up, I might be heading that way soon. Let me know how it went. 😉

Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
Hey there...
About two weeks ago, I noticed this tiny bump. Within two days, it swelled up quite a bit—about the size of an olive, maybe even larger. Probably from swimming in the ocean... who knows. Anyway, I started using Factu cream, and that unbearable pain finally subsided after a few days. The main lump went down, but now there are two small, hard bumps left that only hurt when touched. Is that normal, or should I be freaking out? This is my first time dealing with hemorrhoids, so I'm really not sure... hope I never have to deal with this again.
I don't know, it just seems strange to me that those two little lumps are sticking around this long...

Thanks for the reply!! 🙏

Women with large busts...

…can always stash some cash in their cleavage if they're too rushed to dig through a purse for a wallet
…always catch (and have caught) an artist's eye
…turn jogging into a spectator sport
…never end up soaking a book or magazine while reading in the tub
…tend to have better leverage in negotiations (especially if the man is shorter than them)
…usually find popcorn tucked in their neckline just as they think the supply has run out after a movie
…find it easier to float in the ocean
…know exactly where to look first if an earring goes missing
…rarely lack a dance partner, especially for a close hold
…always have a convenient spot to rest their glasses when leaning back, even if a side table isn't within reach

Women with small busts...

…don't cause a multi-car pileup every time they lean over in public
…always seem to look younger
…never spill food on their chest; whatever drops from the plate usually hits the napkin in their lap
…can actually see their own feet
…are able to sleep on their stomachs
…have zero issues fitting behind the wheel of a compact car
…realize people can actually read the slogans on their t-shirts
…can slip into a theater late without bumping into everyone in the row to find their seat
…can go to an aerobics class without the risk of knocking themselves out

So, natural beauty really is the true beauty...
🙄 🙂

I can't help but wonder how those women who get implants in their mid-twenties will look once they hit sixty... assuming they don't just keep going back for touch-ups and more filler indefinitely.
It’s honestly pointless... people are built the way they are for a reason.

Hey everyone.
I’ve got that "testing" scheduled for tomorrow—you know, the one involving that bitter salt solution... I was wondering if anyone here has gone through it. Any advice or insight on what to expect? Should I show up on an empty stomach, or is a snack okay? And how long does the whole thing actually take?
My wife suggested bringing something sweet along, since apparently the taste is pretty unpleasant... quite bitter...

Thanks for any help.
