It’s likely just some corruption within the registry causing this "artifact" to pop up. 😁 For what it's worth, you don't really run into these kinds of headaches in Linux, where the system either recognizes a user or it simply doesn't.

I suspect there's probably a list of recent logins somewhere that's still showing the old credentials, so she likely assumes the account is still active when it isn't.

True, but using the GUI makes things easier to grasp. 😁 It's possible a leftover User Profile is still sitting on the disk, so I included a link with steps on how to clear out an old user profile.

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> manage another account

Take a look at how to delete a user profile; you'll basically need to wipe the directory in C:\Users and tweak the registry, which I've linked there for you.

The only way they actually block you is if you're out here violating terms of service in a nasty way—like threats or worse—or if you're a minor lying about your age.

Just file an appeal with Google support, answer their questions, and they should unblock it within a week.

I don't think that actually solves the core issue, because my Gmail is tied to everything from Skype to a dozen other services. Even if you have a backup, if the main account is gone, you're still locked out of everything linked to that specific address. I wonder if there’s a reason her account was flagged; they don't usually just vanish without cause. She should probably try filing an appeal with Google to get it reinstated. Personally, if that happened to me, I’d be done with them entirely—I might even ditch Android altogether, since there are plenty of other app stores 😬 available anyway.

I’d much rather go with an internal SSD over an external one if I had the choice. If your SATA 3 slot is already spoken for, you could always swap out the optical drive for a caddy, or if you're working with a newer laptop, just use the M.2 slot. Honestly, both paths are significantly better than relying on an external drive for a few reasons:

1) You run into a massive bottleneck with USB 3.0, where speeds tend to cap out around 400 MB/s—that was my best result in benchmarks. For context, an internal SATA 3 SSD usually hits 500 or 550 MB/s, and an M.2 can easily soar past 1500 MB/s.
2) Some external models struggle with the TRIM function because Windows identifies them as SCSI devices, which effectively breaks TRIM. It might not seem like a big deal at first, but once you've been deleting and moving files constantly, the system fails to clear out old data automatically, leaving you with a mess of unallocated space.
3) Cost—internal drives are generally cheaper.
4) Most SSD maintenance toolkits won't work properly on external drives when Windows treats them as SCSI.
5) As granitecrane2 pointed out, SSDs actually demand more power than traditional HDDs. On my own laptop, an external SSD wouldn't even spin up through the USB-C port without an extra power adapter, though it worked fine via USB-A; basically, you might run into some frustrating power limit issues depending on the port.

He-he, I figured the usual crowd would jump down this movie's throat immediately, which is exactly why I posted it. 😁 It’s certainly not a masterpiece, but it isn't total garbage either. If you're looking for horror or thriller beats, there's plenty to go around: tongue pulling, leg sawing, constant injections, a corpse being cut with a circular saw, multiple hanging scenes (that opening one is quite a shocker), and even that "indexing" scene. It does lack a certain level of pacing, though the whole attempt at escaping the "prison" counts as action. Sure, you can tell it was made on a shoestring budget, but it's still miles ahead of that mess Last Night in Soho.

A modern take on hell... just handing over other "patients" to avoid being torn apart oneself, I suppose. A solid 6.5/10. The ending carries a bit of a lesson. 😁
