Installing Windows 10 on a brand-new laptop these days feels a bit like shooting blanks for two main reasons:
1) Windows 11—it’s clearly where things are headed, and the sooner you get used to it, the better. Microsoft isn't really focusing on version 10 anymore; while it'll stay supported for a little while longer, it's already feeling a bit like a thing of the past. 😁 It's practically old news. 2) Linux—development is moving way faster than Windows, and honestly, it's a lot more efficient. Once major American corporations fully make the switch, which we're already seeing happen in certain sectors, it’s going to be an absolute necessity. I'd suggest playing around with a few different live distros to see what actually clicks with you.
The trailer gives off some pretty dull drama vibes, so I’m definitely skipping this one. Honestly, Clint should have hung it up a decade ago. Jack Nicholson, who’s actually seven years younger than Clint, had the sense to retire ten years back. It would have been the smart move.
That kind of experiment isn't going to pan out for you. Old Wi-Fi cards ran on standard PCI, whereas modern GPUs demand a PCI-e bus. You’d also likely run into a wall trying to reprogram the BIOS to bypass hardware protection—I know for a fact companies like HP implement those kinds of locks, and most other manufacturers follow suit. People have struggled just trying to swap one Wi-Fi card for a different model, so adding a GPU to the mix is a massive leap, not to mention how messy it would look with cables cluttering up your desk. Honestly, you're probably better off just picking up a new desktop or a laptop.

The Neighbor from 2016 is actually a pretty solid thriller/horror flick. The Neighbor from 2017 is more of a drama; I haven't checked that one out since it doesn't really fit what we're discussing here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Neighbor_(2017_film)
neonfox65 said:It’s basically a failed hybrid of Saw / Hostel set in some quasi-prison in Moscow—stupid plot and an even stupider ending. The first half is a total snooze, and the kill scenes just don't feel real... maybe a 5/10. Some people might dig it, but there are way too many holes here, and they really could've done more with this concept.[/I]
Why call it "No Escape" when the movie is actually titled "Follow Me"?🤔
neonfox65 said:I actually really liked the second one. Watched it last night—honestly, the first half was probably even better than the rest...
Look, let’s be real—the sequel isn't terrible, but I was definitely expecting something much stronger. The script for the first movie worked because the blind guy knew his home inside and out, and he was dealing with amateur burglars. In this one, he’s up against a squad of former special forces guys that even Rambo would struggle with, plus the final showdown happens in territory he doesn't know; in any realistic scenario, he and the dog would have been taken out instantly. That’s really all I can say: the logic here is full of holes. To me, the sequel feels like an insult to the original. You just shouldn't mess with a classic like that.
As a follow-up to a masterpiece, this one feels pretty disconnected from the original, save for the fact that the lead actor shifts from villain to hero once his "daughter" is snatched by a group of people... It’s a shame because the script is much more predictable and lacks the conviction of the first film, which really could have been handled better, and given how bloody the ending gets, it probably marks the end of the series; I'd give it a realistic 6/10.
Just grab the Johnson & Johnson shot; you only need one dose, and two weeks later you'll have an express COVID-19 certificate that stays valid for nine months.
I can't quite get behind all the negative reviews; I actually thought the movie was brilliant, so much so that I ended up adding it to my own thread on dark comedies. My only real gripe is that some of the casting felt a little off—for instance, Robert De Niro would have been the perfect choice to play Stalin: https://static.dw.com/image/16501568_303.jpg 😁

My doctor mentioned she's never actually heard of an external one just rupturing on its own. She put me on a laxative and gave me some Hemero cream to hold things over until my follow-up appointment. We'll see what the verdict is then...
If an internal one popped out, then you definitely have an internal one; just because it's protruding doesn't mean it's technically external. 😁 As for a burst, that could happen whenever, so you might as well be prepared. Usually, it's just a matter of straining too hard during a bathroom break or using rough toilet paper, and suddenly there's blood. Honestly, Hemero protect won't actually cure anything since it only treats the symptoms rather than the root cause. It's a bit of a "polite" way for her to advise you.
quietfox383 said:I get what you're saying, but what actually happens once the bleeding stops? I mean, you're left with an open wound right where all those bacteria live. What comes next? Does it just heal on its own, or am I going to end up in the ER needing someone to fix it? Sorry to keep bugging you :/
If there isn't any thrombosis involved, you won't even see anything in the mirror since we're talking about internal hemorrhoids. As for infection, I wouldn't worry too much—if I managed to make it through, you will too, and I’ve lost more blood than some women during their period. 😁 I'm not exactly suggesting surgery, either; I've never gone that route myself, I just managed to pull through by sticking with Nexium capsules, which were a lifesaver.
Don't waste your time; if you want Windows 10 to actually run smoothly, you’re looking at a minimum of 4 GB of RAM, a SATA SSD, and a 64-bit multi-core processor. Your current setup is fine for Windows XP or Windows 7, but honestly, you'll just end up fighting with driver issues on hardware that old. Long story short, you missed the boat—it might be time to look into an upgrade.
quietfox383 said:Oh my God... what happens if it starts spraying? What am I supposed to do? Should I try to disinfect it somehow? When does the bleeding actually stop? And what about that little piece that popped out—does it just fall off or go back in? I think I'm actually going to have a nervous breakdown 😢
If you're at home, it’s pretty easy to manage; you just rinse off in the tub and plug things up with some cotton. The real nightmare is being out in public, which has happened to me more than once, and honestly, thank God I was wearing dark pants or else the blood would have been way too obvious (it looks just like "period" 😁). Since then, I never leave the house without carrying some cotton pads just in case I don't make it. But most importantly, start taking those capsules (Nexium/Prilosec) right away; you can pick them up over the counter at any pharmacy without a prescription.
Don't panic; it’s pretty obvious you’re dealing with this for the first time. First things first, you should probably grab some Prilosec or, ideally, Nexium right away. Based on what you described, it sounds like internal hemorrhoids that have prolapsed, so it's really just a matter of when they decide to burst. The bleeding can vary in intensity, but you definitely need to be prepared—keep some cotton pads handy to manage the spot. It would be incredibly awkward if it happened while you were out in public and you ended up looking like you're having a "period" moment.
fadedbear43 said:I dealt with my first external hemorrhoid about two weeks ago, though I have no clue what triggered it. I’ve been using Hemero cream, taking chamomile baths, and tweaking my diet, which has helped quite a bit; the symptoms are mostly gone now, just a little itching here and there. Do you think I actually need to start taking those Nexium tablets, or is it unnecessary?
If you aren't dealing with any bleeding, it probably isn't necessary for you. Personally, Nexium has been a lifesaver for me on several occasions—though you really need to get the larger bottle, as the small one doesn't seem to cut it for the heavy-duty stuff—especially since I used to deal with bleeding that was way worse than a woman's period 😁 along with enough pain to keep me from sleeping. Once I started Nexium, I was fine for months. That said, if you want to actually feel better, you should probably cut back on the bad stuff, like red wine, or at least keep it to an absolute minimum.
These Pilex capsules are basically worth their weight in gold; they aren't cheap, but I’d much rather pay for peace of mind for the next few months than deal with surgery. Honestly, just grab the larger 28-count bottle—it's better to stick to the full two-week course:
