Who has the best characterization? in Movies ·
Man... Jack Nicholson is easily taking my top three spots.

Jack Nicholson - One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest - Patrick McMurphy
Jack Nicholson - The Shining - Jack Torrence
Jack Nicholson - Batman - Joker
Al Pacino - Scarface - Tony Montana
Roy Scheider - Jaws - Martin Brody, RIP, a total legend.🙏
Jack Nicholson - Chinatown - Bill Murray
Bill Murray - Groundhog Day - Phil Connors
Robert De Niro - The Deer Hunter - Michael Vronsky
Gregory Peck - Gentleman's Agreement - Philip Schuyler Green
Anthony Hopkins - The Silence of the Lambs - Hannibal Lecter

I could probably throw a few more in there, but that’s pretty much the core list... now let's move on to the women.

And they're leading by a landslide.

Sigourney Weaver - Alien - Ellen Ripley
Demi Moore - G.I. Jane - Jordan O'Neil
Kim Basinger - L.A. Confidential - Lynn Bracken
Fay Wray - King Kong - Ann Darrow, the scream queen.🙏
Mia Farrow - Rosemary's Baby - Rosemary Woodhouse

So yeah, that’s basically it, though I'm almost certain I missed someone.
I mean, how on earth am I actually maintaining a normal weight?
There isn't really a single genre I’ll dodge because, honestly, I’m a total cinephile; I know how it goes where I'll just lock myself away for three or four days straight and plow through twenty different movies, whether they're on my old Blu-ray collection or just streaming on Netflix... I genuinely appreciate everything there is to see, and frankly, I can't stand people who come up with these incredibly shallow, cliché reasons to hate on a certain film, because at the end of the day, a movie is meant to be experienced, ranging from the most mindless trash to a brilliant Hollywood blockbuster... at least that's how it works for me. Anyway, it's become pretty clear to me that not a single day goes by without me sitting down for at least one or two films... so yeah, that's basically my life in a nutshell.🙂
Why is everyone acting so shocked about Predator 2? It’s all subjective, isn't it? Some people swear by Alien while others prefer Aliens... personally, I think Predator 2 actually beats the original, so what's the big deal? Same goes for NOES 3, which I'd take over the first one any day, and don't even get me started on 28 Weeks Later.
The reasons people come up with... it's honestly terrifying🙄
[Rec] 2 (2009) in Movies ·
The first one was actually great... I’m betting the sequel holds up too, even though I was pretty skeptical at first myself.
Is there anything quite like the sheer, unhinged chaos of Evil Dead 2? Honestly, I find myself wondering if anyone else gets that same rush of adrenaline from watching Bruce Campbell descend into total madness, or am I just being weirdly obsessed with high-octane practical effects? It’s one of those rare films that manages to be absolutely terrifying while simultaneously being laugh-out-loud hilarious, which is a balancing act most directors couldn't pull off if they had a lifetime to practice. Why bother with polished, boring CGI when you can have this kind of visceral, messy energy instead?
Terminator 2
Predator 2
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3
The Godfather Part II
28 Weeks Later
Is there anyone actually still out there who thinks Mad Max 2 is anything less than a masterpiece of pure, unadulterated chaos? I mean, honestly, does anyone really need a slow build when you can just throw high-octane vehicular mayhem directly into your face from frame one? It’s relentless, isn't it? Just a non-stop, dusty, gasoline-soaked fever dream that makes most modern action flicks look like they were filmed in a bathtub. Why bother with heavy dialogue or deep philosophical monologues when you have a desert wasteland and a pursuit sequence that actually feels dangerous? It’s brilliant, it’s gritty, and quite frankly, it’s better than half the CGI-slop we get pumped out of Hollywood these days.
Rocky II
Blade II
I'll think of something else when it hits me.
