Best graphics tablets for digital art? in Computer Peripherals ·
wiredlynx33 said:If you can hold a standard pencil, you can certainly handle a pen tablet. There's really no debate there.

True, but that isn't the issue—it's the neck strain from looking at the monitor instead of the paper.
You get used to it within a few days, though...
Of course, a "Cintiq" is the ideal fix, but the price tag is steep... 😲

By the way, if I were actually making a living from this or treating it as a career, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy a Cintiq.
As a hobbyist, however, it just isn't necessary...

I agree, but it is expensive—and that doesn't mean everyone will find drawing on a tablet intuitive. In my opinion, one should probably practice on these cheaper models first, and if you find that things are progressing well... then perhaps move up to a Wacom.

There you go. It's even on sale... 👍

Proud owner of a Microsoft device... 👍
Unfortunately, I couldn't swing the cost of a Wacom Intuos, but I am quite pleased with this one. I've run it on both Windows XP and Windows 7 without any issues. It functions just like a mouse; honestly, I haven't found an application yet where it won't work.
Picked it up at Intel and paid $166.

I would certainly recommend it to anyone just starting out with graphics tablets. It isn't expensive, the size is just right, the design is slim, and the installation is straightforward. Quality is decent.
Since I focus on illustrations and comics, I typically use it alongside Marvel Studios software.

Look, I went through a similar situation about a month ago...
My ex-girlfriend struggled with some pretty intense parental issues—and despite my best efforts, I couldn't fix them for her.
If someone isn't willing to help themselves, all the effort in the world won't matter... 🤷
But none of that is really relevant here.
Ultimately, you have to try to create distance from your parents whenever possible; you can't let things hold you back. It might sound harsh or even impossible, but at the end of the day, you have to prioritize yourself.
That’s just how the survival of the fittest works, if I recall correctly... 🧐
I dealt with some heavy internal conflicts regarding this myself back in the day, but I eventually learned how to stand my ground. Parents usually mean well, which is what they should do, but they often execute it in the most misguided ways imaginable. 🙂🙂
Worst of all, they refuse to admit when they're wrong.
In reality, they just need to sit down and ask their child what they actually want.
Nothing more.
Specifically, I'd suggest trying to build a mental barrier against your parents so they stop influencing you. Once that's done, it would be wise to physically move away from them...
I mean moving out... 🙂
Just know that once you make that leap, there's no turning back.
Keep your head up, girl, and just keep moving forward—don't doubt yourself or let fear take over...
Follow your heart, but keep your logic in check, and you'll be fine.
Believe in yourself. 👍

By the way, "colleague_89"... no offense, but you should probably find somewhere else to hang out; this isn't your scene. 🙈🙂

Tight-fitting shoes in Fashion ·
The issue eventually resolved itself... I wore three pairs of compression socks for about a week, and they finally loosened up enough to be comfortable. Now, walking in them is actually quite pleasant. 😂
By the way, I applied the cream both inside and out for about fifteen days, only to realize that not a single drop had actually absorbed. Great. Clearly, this stuff doesn't work at all.

Nancy Campbell5 said:I have a little bit of an old-school tip—kind of like one of those "grandma's remedies"—but I guess it actually works. If you have leather shoes that are pinching or feeling too tight, and they're genuine leather, you can try filling a plastic bag with water and leaving it in the freezer overnight. The ice from the bag should stretch them out a bit, and then you just wipe them down and apply some moisturizer in the morning, and hopefully, they'll be fine. 👍 😁

Hmm, how exactly am I supposed to fit a size 14 wide with fourteen holes into my freezer... 🤷

I don't run 7; I'm still sticking with good old XP, but you should definitely check this out—it covers everything quite clearly.
Anyway, good luck... ☕
