Total failure! Honestly, I’m trying my hardest to avoid any major spoilers here because I don't want to ruin the experience for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but man... even a caveman could have designed a better weapon against ______ than what we saw in this movie! 😉

Douglas Phillips4 said:Yeah, I get that. To me, that "snake" is fascinating. It’s got this almost religious, spiritual quality to it—it's just well-crafted, you know? It feels genuinely alive. But then again, I feel like even ordinary snakes can have that same kind of soul. 😁

Those aliens are honestly a little pathetic, if we’re being real... just standing there on that meadow. 🙄
Next time I sit down to watch this, I’m going to pay much closer attention to the details. Unfortunately, I had to rush through it and return it so fast that I completely forgot to rip it to my hard drive. Dammit, what an idiot.

Look, don't waste your precious time or burn through your resources on this one—I’ve got a better suggestion for you! If you're genuinely into that whole vibe of snakes or some kind of creepy reptilian creatures, you should really check out if you've seen Deep Rising or maybe even the first Tremors movie! 😉

Douglas Phillips4 said:I was totally hooked on this movie until the very end, and then it kind of let me down—though it wasn't a total disaster. But you know what’s actually messed up? That alternative ending. Seriously, don't watch it! 😲

There are just so many loose ends, and the characters feel incredibly thin. It seems like everyone has these special abilities, but then you have the drunk guy, for instance, and we don't even get a clear idea of what his deal is. And honestly, one thing that keeps bugging me about the whole plot: if they all love Duddits that much, why on earth haven't they seen him in twenty years? Why are they all just hanging out in that shack without him? It feels a little bit silly, doesn't it? 🤔
The atmosphere and the special effects really help save the experience... 👍

Special effects??!! :O Hmmm... That's a pretty debatable claim, and maybe not in a good way... 😉

Based on the book by Stephen King. Thomas Jane is actually really solid in one of the lead roles. It’s a clever little blend of Sci-Fi and Thriller, giving off some vibes of The Thing, though it feels a bit more fleshed out—even if they could have handled the development better. Yeah... they rushed the ending a bit, but all things considered, it’s a 3.5 out of 5 for me. Morgan Freeman playing the villain—O.K.

If you ask me, this is easily one of the worst attempts to bring Stephen King to the big screen! The movie starts off strong; the atmosphere is fantastic right up until the director finally reveals what we're actually dealing with! Once that happens, I honestly couldn't stop laughing! For real! 😁 What a disaster! Just give me my fifteen bucks back! And as for Morgan Freeman, I don't think I've ever seen him stuck in such a weak, half-baked role! He looks completely lost in the movie and totally disconnected from his own character!

And then I get lectured about spoilers! 😢 Gee, thanks a lot, everyone!!! Unbelievable! If we're being so sensitive, why didn't someone just go ahead and post the entire script for the movie???!!!

Rebecca Taylor57 said:Noah Watson4, don't you dare spoil it! Seriously, that's really all there is to say about this movie. And just to be clear for anyone following along, the title is actually listed right here in the thread under After Hours.

My bed! 😉 It’s never going to happen again! Believe me, I know exactly how nasty that can get. I’ve seen people completely butcher the entire legacy of Kill Bill just because they can't see past the surface. Honestly, most film buffs these days seem to feed their brains nothing but those mindless Hollywood blockbusters where something explodes in your face every five minutes. Because of that shallow mindset, they’re just going to skip right over this absolute masterpiece. 😉

redgull44 said:So, basically, Al Pacino is trying to wreck the entire planet by clogging up all the storm drains and sewers, which triggers this massive chain reaction of monsoons. We're talking catastrophic flooding everywhere, total chaos, everyone's gone—except for his crew. Then, out of nowhere, Kevin Reeves swoops in with all that expertise he gained from Waterworld, tries to fix the mess, and convinces Rivers to switch sides so they can save the world together and finally take down Al Pacino once and for all. 🤔 😉

Now THAT'S just absolutely brilliant! 😉

Maybe you mean Small Hours (!)? 😉 Is that the one where, at the end, instead of a statue, they just end up pouring melted metal all over the sidewalk in front of the building? 😁 Brilliant!

redgull44 said:As far as Devil's Advocate is concerned, I honestly think the writers were just having a massive laugh at the expense of lawyers and their entire little universe.😉

Well, if that's the case, why didn't they just set the whole story in some middle-of-nowhere sanitation department!😁 Picture this: Keanu Reeves is this eager, wide-eyed garbage man starting his very first night shift, and then you've got Al Pacino as the grizzled veteran colleague who specializes in cleaning up the really messy biohazards...😁

Look, I honestly haven't the slightest clue how you’d actually pull it off—you know, finding that sweet spot between keeping the older crowd happy and staying cool with your buddies!—but I’ve got this nagging feeling that the band would just hit totally different with you on board! 😉
Underworld in Movies ·
What a disaster! Honestly, the director is basically just scavenging ideas from a million other movies that were actually better constructed and paced much more effectively (think Blade or The Matrix, for instance).
The only thing worth giving a thumbs up for is the atmosphere and that washed-out, pale blue color grading they used for the camera work. Oh, and Kate! 😛
Femme Fatale in Movies ·
Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say the movie was a total disaster! It’s true, it definitely falls way below the mark when you hold it up against the work of De Palma, but look—I went into this one completely blind, knowing absolutely nothing about it. And honestly? The people I saw it with were just tearing it apart left and right, which caught me off guard. Especially toward the end!

I mean, I'm not totally off base here—apparently, that movie is pretty profound too...🙄 😉

Well, if you haven't seen Amelia, go watch that instead! It’s the quintessential "feel-good" flick. 😉 Though, I suppose the catch is that it's a foreign film!

northernfalcon30 said:Wait, how on earth did you pull a movie out of mothballs? Was it actually playing on TV?!

I wouldn't say that! But, hey, I guess digging it out from... the mothballs(!) makes it a decent flick! 😁 A solid watch! 😉

What a complete disaster! X-( Give me back my money for those $9.00 after being forced to sit through this garbage! First off, the runtime is way too long—by the end, I honestly couldn't bring myself to care about any of the characters. Second, the crew just stood there instead of actually taking flight during the movie (!). Seriously??!! The protagonists were incredibly dim-witted (though, okay, that part with the X's was pretty cool! 😉)
Well, maybe if I were fourteen again, I’d actually think this was great!

What a fantastic movie! It actually managed to dodge those tired comparisons to Sermon & similar flicks. And honestly, I won't even get started on Pacino playing the role of the Devil! Just pure madness! That benevolent expression of his combined with those soulful, puppy-dog eyes adds such a brilliant layer to the whole thing. Bravo!
