Technical issue in Forum Help! ·
My apologies—perhaps I should have clarified from the jump that I am actually Adam Miller53. I set up this secondary account just to run a little experiment regarding how the site handles restrictions. If any of the admins happen to see this, please feel free to go ahead and permaban the Adam Miller53 account whenever you get a chance.

Sure, it’s a logical fix for the problem, though I suppose you have to account for the noise from the bug forums and such...
A more efficient workaround is using domain-specific searches—you know, typing > into Google—which forces the results to pull exclusively from the Reddit domain itself.
But even then, it’s hardly a perfect solution; you lose all those granular search features, specific parameters, user filters, or the ability to select PDF files...
Honestly, I can't quite wrap my head around why they would disable the internal search function. What possible way could a member actually abuse it? That seems to be the only logical reason for why it isn't working, and frankly, it feels a bit excessive.
The Ninth Gate (1999) in Movies ·
The movie isn't half bad, but let’s be honest—it doesn't even touch the surface of the novel...
I mean, really, whose brilliant idea was it to cut The Dumas Club from the adaptation entirely?

They ought to film it again, but this time, they should actually do it right...
I had my septoplasty surgery last week. They finally pulled out the nasal packing this morning. Is it totally normal for my nose to feel packed with blood clots right now?
Splinter in my foot: what should I do? in Health ·
I am somewhat uncertain as to which sub-forum this particular inquiry belongs in, so I shall humbly request that the moderators do not take offense and kindly relocate this post to its appropriate section if necessary... My thanks to you... 🙂

If anyone happens to have an answer, I would be most grateful if you could share it as soon as possible...

Greetings, everyone...
I find myself facing a rather minor predicament...
Nearly two months ago, I stepped on a hawthorn thorn. (These things can grow up to six inches long, believe it or not.)
Since there were no immediate signs that a fragment had remained lodged in my foot, I didn't deem a trip to the doctor particularly essential. To be perfectly honest, the thought of tetanus didn't even cross my mind at the time.
Naturally, given the sheer length of the thorn, the possibility that it had snapped and left a piece behind did occur to me; however, since I experienced zero pain and absolutely no swelling, I dismissed the idea entirely.
It has been just under two months since the incident occurred. Yesterday, my foot began to ache slightly right where the puncture happened—mostly when touched—and today, I noticed some slight swelling has developed. (There is still a tiny scar at the site of the penetration.)
Should I be concerned? Is there any actual possibility that I might have contracted tetanus?
What steps should I take next?
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
I find myself frequently returning to the philosophical grit of *Fight Club*. It’s one of those rare cinematic experiences that manages to be both visceral and deeply cerebral, even if it leaves you feeling slightly unhinged by the end. There is something about the way it deconstructs consumerism through such raw, chaotic imagery that still resonates, regardless of how many times I revisit it. Truly a remarkable piece of filmmaking.
I find myself frequently returning to *The Prestige*. There is something about its intricate, layered structure that demands constant re-examination, much like a complex puzzle that refuses to stay solved. It’s a film that respects the viewer's intelligence, even if it leaves you feeling slightly breathless by the final act.

🙏
I have always held him in such high regard...
He was truly the one who opened my eyes to the entire world of music...
While he was undeniably a genius, I think calling him just that feels like an understatement...
He certainly shone brightly during his time with The Beatles, yet I’d argue his solo work was even more profound...
Through his melodies, he became a true advocate for peace...
He was a rock icon through and through—a hippie with genuine soul and a sharp mind...
Nothing but respect.

Arthur Kim74 said:No legal system is ever purely on the side of what’s right, because we all know the old saying that justice is blind...

That is precisely my point...
I wouldn't go so far as to label this a classic good versus evil story. Rather, I see it as a study of human helplessness when faced with the crushing weight of the American legal system, regardless of how much intelligence or influence an individual might actually possess...

rowdyhawk18 said:The movie is alright, though I guess it gets a bit overly bloody at times. There are some really intense scenes that might make you feel a little nauseous, like that part where he's cutting up that guy.😱I also felt like the ending was your typical Hollywood trope, where good eventually triumphs over evil.

Would you please enlighten me as to who exactly was standing on the side of good and who was on the side of evil here... 🤷
The American legal system is certainly not on the side of good... (even if there are a few decent individuals scattered within it).

Best movies from America since 1990? in Movies ·
The film industry here in the States is surprisingly underdeveloped.
It’s honestly quite a shame that Americans seem incapable of producing a single decent movie unless it’s centered around a war or some sort of social issue (if you can even call them that).
And even when they do tackle those themes, very few of those films are actually worth the runtime.
The only American film I’ve managed to sit through so far that I genuinely enjoyed was "sing something romantic."
