Major changes coming to the Federal Reserve subreddit in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Sarah Edwards38 said:The moderator was the one who replied to him.

Tell me you're joking. Please. 🤣

So the guy who banned him is the one who gave him an answer? And that counts as a response!??
Look, if he filed a complaint, it’s only logical that he’d be appealing against the decision made by the person who hit him with the ban. Having that same person just repeat the exact same thing they sent in his private messages when he got banned isn't actually addressing the complaint. Or is it, in your opinion?

I just love this forum. 🙏

Sarah Edwards38 said:Yeah, that's one way to look at it.

From what I can gather, the whole point was to clear out the trolls. And honestly, that guy earlier had a point. Why didn't anyone bother responding to the banned user? Like, why didn't you, for instance, give him an answer? It’s much easier to just talk down to someone who's been kicked out so you don't have to play devil's advocate, rather than actually giving them a coherent response in three simple sentences to address their question. But hey, I guess that's just how things work here. Tell me, though—what have you actually done lately to help the people who are legitimately being screwed over? It doesn't seem to be happening, does it? And this little competition you've got going with the head admin to see who can shut down threads faster? That isn't helping the site function any better. If anything, it just reinforces the idea that this entire place is pretty pointless. 🙄

Angela Flores76 said:Oh, and one last thing: why on earth are Darren and Samantha working as moderators over at Estée Lauder when neither of them actually... Honestly, there isn't a single constructive post to be found on that subforum. It's a bit of a wash.

I'm with you on that. 🙏🙏🙏

Jerry Martin19 said:Got a question for you guys (looks like it might’ve been asked already, but I haven't scrolled through all the replies yet). I've been following this whole "debate" surrounding Astrica lately, and I was also checking out the threads over on Reddit... what I really want to know is, is that kind of talk actually allowed here? Like, is it okay to call people sociopaths and tell them they need to go to therapy? As far as I knew, that stuff usually gets flagged. Just to be clear, though—I'm not taking sides. I'm definitely not defending Astrica; I've read her posts a few times and she comes off as a total troll, pretty aggressive too. She has this weirdly hostile vibe toward other users (well, based on the forum, obviously, since we haven't met in person). On the flip side, I'm not defending the people calling her every name in the book either, even if she probably deserves it. I just don't think this forum—especially the biggest community in the US—is the place for that kind of stuff...

edit: mods, don't come for me. I'm not here to troll 🙂

Well, it still gets punished. Everyone except the mods, anyway. They basically just went after her because she lost it after being treated poorly. Honestly, she has every right to be hysterical. But the moderators? They don't have the right to act like that. They're the ones making up the rules, yet they won't even follow them themselves.

I don't even know where to start with this... It’s just heavy. Honestly, it's hard to wrap your head around when you see it happening right in front of you. You think you understand how much weight a person can carry, how much pressure they can take before they just... snap. But then reality hits you, and it's not like the movies. It's quiet, it's messy, and it leaves this massive, hollow void in its wake. It makes you wonder about everything—how we treat each other, the stuff we ignore because it's "too uncomfortable" to talk about. We spend so much time scrolling through nonsense or arguing over trivial things on some internet forum, while people are out there struggling just to find a reason to get out of bed. It's grim. It really is... says:
I honestly don't see why everyone is making such a massive deal out of this. People love to jump on the bandwagon and start shouting about "justice" or whatever the buzzword of the week is, but if you actually take a second to look at the facts instead of just reacting emotionally, the whole thing falls apart... It’s almost funny how predictable people can be when they want to feel righteous. And then you have certain users—looking at you, Alexander Brown5—who seem to think their opinion carries more weight just because they're loud about it. It doesn't work like that. You can scream into the void all you want, but it won't change the reality of the situation. It’s just noise. Pure, unadulterated noise... Anyway, I was thinking about this while driving through Chicago yesterday, and it struck me how much of our public discourse is just people performing for an audience rather than actually discussing anything of substance. We've become a nation of performers. If we could just stop the theatrics for five minutes, maybe we'd actually get somewhere... but I won't hold my breath.

Alright, let's get this show on the road... I'm ready when you are.

One of the forum users was complaining that nobody bothered to suggest she seek out some professional help regarding the Astrice...
Smart_bitch shut that down completely, backing up her point with a direct quote...
I honestly don't see how anything could be more constructive than this... 🍿

I don't even know where to start with this... it’s just heavy. It’s one of those things that sits in the back of your mind, weighing everything down, making it hard to see the point of any of it. Honestly, it's a dark place to be... says:
Well, go ahead then... explain this one to me too.
I honestly don't see why everyone is getting so worked up about this. It feels like we're all just shouting into a void at this point. You look at the way things are being run lately, and it’s almost laughable how little anyone actually cares about the substance of the debate. It's all noise... just constant, mindless noise. I was reading some stuff earlier—nothing major, just some commentary on how institutions in the States tend to spiral when they lose focus—and it hit me that we're doing the exact same thing here. We get caught up in the personalities instead of the actual issues. It's exhausting. Anyway, I saw what Alexander Brown5 was saying earlier, and frankly, I think he's missing the forest for the trees. He's so focused on one tiny detail that he's completely ignoring the massive structural problem right in front of us. It's the same pattern we see every single time... people latch onto a grievance and refuse to let go, even when it stops making sense. Does anyone else feel like we're just spinning our wheels? Or am I just being cynical today... maybe a little. But someone has to say it.

Why on earth isn't it 500 points?...

This is straight-up insulting. The absolute most Sash said was calling people a "useless bunch" and overusing the word "crap"...
It’s honestly insulting... you get like 500 points just for dropping vile insults like "faggot," "scumbag," or "moron." It’s all just bottom-of-the-barrel garbage and profanity aimed at anyone they disagree with... it's pathetic.

Look, I’m telling you, they aren't bringing your mother or anyone else into this. It's just a standard damn curse word, for crying out loud... 😁 Go ahead, report me just because I told you to go screw yourself... 😁
What was she supposed to do with a massive pile of chatters? Just go, "Hey guys, if you wouldn't mind being a little less chatty"? As if anyone would actually notice her or bother to listen... yeah, right... 😁

Was she spotted like that? Yeah. Did the warning actually go off? As far as I can recall, it did. Like I said... you really couldn't ask for anything more constructive than that... 😁

I got a ten-day ban from Bellwether just for making a snarky comment about eloquence and being a smart-aleck. So how does this guy walk away without any consequences? 🤣

How can you even spout such nonsense? Honestly, the worst part is knowing that Sash himself would probably hand out a permanent ban to someone else for saying the exact same thing, and he wouldn't even think twice about it.

Just so we're clear, a "constructive post" doesn't automatically mean it has to be long, exhaustive, or polite... if you didn't know that already.

No, no, you're the one who claimed that every single person on this sub before they became a Moderator had a mountain of constructive posts. You just threw that out there without any proof. I wasn't asking for a mountain, though. I just asked for two. So, tiny, where are they? 🙂

I don't know about you all, but I’ve been sitting here thinking about the whole concept of suicide... It’s a heavy one, isn't it? A dark, heavy weight that just hangs over everything if you let it. Sometimes life feels like it's hitting you from every angle at once, and you just want to pull the plug on the whole damn thing... It's a grim thought, but it's a real one. We need to be careful how we talk about this, because it matters... more than people realize. says:
There’s a massive difference between occasionally jumping into the Chat and just being someone who does nothing but chat...

Drop the link. I need to find one of those Moderators who does nothing but sit around and chat all day...

I’m calling you out again... give me some actual examples of moderators who do nothing but sit around and chat all day.

Another thing... Some Moderators have made a conscious choice to stay out of the actual debates just so nobody can throw accusations of bias at them. They’re lurking, reading everything, but they won't jump into those threads or pick a side. Is that really just as bad in your eyes? Or am I missing something here...

Look, let’s be real here—anyone who actually makes the cut as a Moderator was someone who spent a massive amount of time dropping constructive, high-quality posts on that specific subforum long before they ever got the badge...

I mean, just show me two examples like that from Smart Bitch right here. 🙂

What an absolute disaster. Honestly, this guy shouldn't be allowed near a moderator position, not even for a tiny corner of a forum if one actually existed. 🙄
vividtiger50 said:I’m just a clone, obviously, so I know exactly how much people hate clickbait headlines. 😍
I’m not entirely sure what I’m hoping to achieve by starting this thread; maybe I just need a little bit of support, or even some insults or sympathy—honestly, anything just to feel like someone is talking to me, because I feel incredibly lonely. 😢

So, I guess I should start from the beginning. Back in high school, I was an excellent student without ever really having to try, which meant I never actually developed any real work ethic. I managed to get into the university I wanted without much trouble and moved away from my small hometown to this massive city. When the first deadlines rolled around, I passed a couple of exams, and then suddenly—just like that—everything changed. College felt pointless, I realized it wasn't what I actually wanted to do, and I just lost all motivation to study. I ended up spending most of the next two months just lying around the house, watching TV, or out drinking. Since attendance isn't strictly mandatory at my university, I took full advantage of that, and for the next few months, the campus didn't see me at all. By the time the next round of finals came, I hadn't passed a single thing, and that continued for the next three years. As my friends from school started moving into their senior years, we had less and less to talk about, our schedules stopped lining up, and bit by bit, I just drifted away. Yeah, I don't have anyone. I grew distant from everyone back home, lost touch with the people from college, and honestly, I don't even know who I could grab a coffee with tomorrow if I wanted to.

I'm 23 now, and I have no idea what my future holds. I don't have any real job skills to speak of, so I can't exactly be independent and stop relying on my parents, though I suppose I don't spend too much money since, as I mentioned, I have no one to go out with. I've basically locked myself in my apartment and stopped leaving. A few times a week I'll head to the grocery store or maybe take a short walk, but the rest of my time is spent in front of the TV or online; I've written ten thousand posts here, for goodness' sake. 😳

Nothing brings me joy anymore; every day feels identical. I only change out of my pajamas under very unusual circumstances, and I feel quite pathetic. I'm no expert, but I suspect I might be dealing with depression. There have been moments where I've thought about just ending it all to stop this stagnation, but I'm quickly snapped back to reality by the thought that I have no friends and no one would even show up to my funeral, which would lead my mom to realize things aren't as great as I tell her they are. 😢

I realize that my behavior is terribly childish and immature; I'm aware of it all. I spend my nights crying and feeling desperate, feeling small and worthless and ashamed, yet I just can't seem to force myself to change. I'll sit down to study, and then my mind just drifts away, and that's that. I don't know, I really don't. And I suppose I'm doing this for selfish reasons, just wanting to find some relief for my soul.

If anyone actually read this, I apologize for venting like this, but I feel a little bit better now. 😢

I feel this soooooooo much. Ivanna, is that you? 😁
What does it actually mean to be a "human"? in Spirituality ·
Sophia King42 said:Someone once asked a sage what defines a human being—are we spiritual beings or material ones? His answer was simple:
"We are spiritual beings having a material experience, not material beings having a spiritual one." I'd like to hear from the community: which side of that coin do you land on?

Wait, which wise man are we actually talking about here? Based on how deep that quote sounds, it feels like it could have come straight from Jay-Z during one of his late-night deep dives.
