Five or six years old? Honestly, bravo. I was twelve when I saw it and I was absolutely traumatized, but then again, what King does during those formative years is simply impossible to process. And to think the folks over at NBC used to air every single episode right around eight in the evening. How charming.

Personally, what I always admired about his work was the certainty that all evil springs directly from hell; there were no gray areas in his world. He used to be such a formidable moralist, an old-school principled storyteller—pure Frank Capra stuff. But now? He’s become quite tedious and rather bland. I was anticipating that classic Castle Rock production feel, something reminiscent of King in the eighties, yet instead, I was met with this utterly lackluster mess featuring that mediocre New Kids on the Block actor. In any case, it was dreadful, and that’s pretty much all I can recall.
