While I definitely agree that Surfer Rosa and Doolittle are absolute masterpieces, I think these two are just as incredible

the white stripes-de stijl

In my opinion, it's a much better record than the overhyped Elephant, which only stays relevant because of "Seven Nation Army"

Also, Bambi Molesters' "Play Out of Tune"—even though the band members themselves aren't big fans—is such a sweet listen to me😛

I'll probably think of a few more soon...

Hmm, I don't quite remember 🤔

But you're still a year younger than me. I graduated back in '91. Same deal 🙂
Oh, I do remember how all our guys were totally into those seventh graders, though I can't recall which grade they were in... I have vague memories of someone named Marcela and another girl, Nike... 😁

I just finished digging through some old transcripts and came to two conclusions:
1. She never actually took computer science in middle school. 😕

I think it might have been an elective or something similar... 🤔 it wouldn't show up on the official transcripts.

But now I'm genuinely curious—which graduating class were you in? What year?

brightridge19 said:It wasn't really computer science for me; it was more technical. Purely technical. Those were those multi-purpose teachers. Just basic middle school tech classes... turn the computer on, turn it off. Or was that back in high school? 🤔

The language instructor 😍 used to repeat nothing but "aujourd'hui c'est mercredi" over and over again. We were absolutely dying laughing.
But his name wasn't Frank, 🤔 right? Wasn't he a bit stocky, balding, wearing glasses, with that messy reddish hair?

Hehe, tech class was all about the Commodore 64—we just learned how to draw stuff... 😁

And the instructor's name was Frank; he was young, handsome, and wore glasses... 🙂

Oh my gosh, a fragment... how on earth did you remember him??? 😬The guy with the Southern accent who taught 8th-grade computer science and was such a huge flirt? 😁

Here is my list:

1) > - I actually agree with gentlepuma20 (let's all agree on something just once 😬), mainly because of his presence (6'3" and a solid 260 lbs). He had more authority than any of the professors combined, and he breathed right along with the class. His favorite catchphrases were stuff like "simple as a flip-flop" and "you want me to whistle a slap at you?" 😁 He actually liked me because I played basketball for the school... yeah, and he’d always let us watch Lakers games on the TV during class. Definitely the absolute greatest legend of the school. I knew him personally too, since his daughter used to train with me—he's such a great guy, and even today, I still see him jogging around the high school campus 🙏

2) Roda - our resident terror whom we drove absolutely crazy for all four years. She's the reason I've frozen out biology and chemistry for good. Her biggest blunder was calling a parent-teacher meeting because she was dead certain that seeing U2 written on the desks meant some sort of radical political code 🤣

3) Krajca - mostly because she was only 24 when she started teaching us. She was a fantastic teacher, though, but thanks to her relentless drilling of Latin grammar, every other language I tried later on was a total disaster. I heard later that she left the school and moved to Canada

4) > - because she would just suddenly snap for no reason at all, dropping her voice to a whisper so that only the front row could hear, only to ask the exact same question during the next period—of course, nobody had any clue what she said. And she was incredibly mean to the poor interns who came for practicums; she managed to make them cry more than once. On my last day of 8th grade, when she gave me my final grade, she handed me an A and said, "But next time I see you, you better be walking down the street with Mark A. and his kids"—Mark A. was my big crush that the whole school knew about, but I had no idea she even knew 😬

5) Tying for fifth place are Hadzo, who would read sports news through a hole in his paper just to peek and see if we were still copying 😬, and that Canadian lady from the library who taught us French for a year and forced us to memorize poems about partisans (in French, naturally 😬

A special mention goes to the school counselor, Stephen Siroglavic—what a character! Man, whenever I remember that hairstyle 😂

Oh, and I couldn't stand Zobenica because she was so bitter. I remember back in 7th grade (right around the time the local elections happened), she walked into class and proudly announced that she wasn't everyone's "friend" anymore, she was a "Lady," and anyone who dared suggest otherwise was going to regret it... but we all absolutely loved Frank, the lecturer 😍

Oh yeah, Mihaljinecka hated anyone taller than her, especially me, since I was one of the tallest in the class

EDIT: The best custodian was Auntie Aisha. She used to always beg whoever was on hall monitor duty to write a postcard to her son—his address was in Zenica 😬

The top 5 elementary school teachers (in any sense of the word)

Oh man, I am actually going to die laughing 🤣 I feel like I just aged backward 15 years 😬

@ brightridge19: hmm, I had Relja for tech class, so I have no idea who you mean? 🤔
I haven't really sat down to watch TV much in the last few years, so I honestly have no clue what kind of music videos are playing these days. But if I remember correctly, the absolute worst one from back when I used to follow MTV was Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy"... It was just three guys shirtless, and then they'd take turns pouring some kind of spaghetti sauce over themselves. I can't even decide if the band was more annoying, or if it was the song itself, or just that ridiculous video—but it felt like I’d run into it every single time I turned on the TV because they played it constantly. Honestly, it was pure trauma... 🙂

I actually started an old thread about this once, trying to hype up the 😳 unknown crowd, but 😬 unknown shut me down immediately.

Haha, I haven't been on this forum long enough to know anything about that specific thread... though if I had, I bet any punk would have seen their god in action. 😬

As for those 🙂 unknown fans, they are basically sexmaraton:

Hey there! Just checking in. said:Google that first one. 👎

Forget Google. Honestly, just go watch *The Last Seduction* and *Where the Money Is* first, and then we can actually have a real conversation about this. 😈 (I'll get both movies over to you.)

Where did Nina Morić act?🤔 😬

Yeah, it’s definitely "Livin' La Vida Loca." 😬

hands down the absolute best leading lady from the old Hollywood era🙏 🙏 🙏

The cutest? Definitely in that classic biker flick where she plays the rocker in the black leather jacket.🙂 🙂 🙂

Oh, and Branka Katich was great too.

Honestly, looking at the current crop of American actresses, none of them really stand out to me.🤔

Yeah, I had a feeling there would be a ton of that crap around. 😳 Oh, and I completely forgot about Cameron Diaz too! 🙂

vividcanyon2 said:Come on, Susan Clark10, give us at least a top three—or even just a top two, or hell, even just one!

Alright, don't say I didn't give you fair warning! 😬

Johnny Lee Miller was such a standout in *Mr. Robot*. He really brought something special to that role. 🙂 🙂
Gael García Bernal in *Pasjon Love*. 🙂
John Cusack, anywhere. 🙂
Colin Farrell in *The Recruit*... honestly, I’m only watching it for that one scene in the parking garage. 😈
Ryan Phillippe in *Cruel Intentions*... man, talk about a classic era. He really brought that specific kind of trouble to the screen in that movie. It’s such a standout performance for him. 😍

I was just saying that I'm really not a fan of Colin Firth.

For me, Linda Fiorentino is easily the hottest actress out there, followed by everyone else—you know, Monica, Angelina, Scarlett, Jessica, Keira, Charlize... plus that girl from the suburbs and the one who was in *Laws of Attraction*, Shannyn Sossamon.

I won't even get into my taste in men because honestly, nobody would agree with me anyway. 😳

My number one is out there somewhere enjoying life in New York with his wife and kid. Honestly, let him enjoy it. 😍

I wouldn't want my guy to have to deal with that. 😈

Well, lucky them. My number one pick is probably just chilling at home with some girl right now, totally unbothered that I'm putting him on a top list like this. 🙂

But hey, my number three was out there acting like he owned the place last night around 11 PM. 😈
