Man, I’m getting so old that I can actually remember watching the Netherlands play back during the European Championship in 1988—and honestly, it was something truly special. Just incredible stuff to witness. You had Gullit, then Marco van Basten, then Rijkaard... even Kuman was there. It was just legendary.

You’ll be able to catch everything on Eurosport—we're talking about seeing the Dutch squad under Cruyff's legacy go head-to-head against Kasperchakov's Polish side. Now, that... that is what real football looks like.

So, we’ve got Van Aerle, Van Tiggelen, Muhren, Vanenburg, Wim Kieft, Wouters, and even Erwin Koeman... man, that’s quite the lineup to look back on. It’s like looking at an old, dusty record collection you’ve kept tucked away in the attic for years—you know, those albums with the slightly worn edges that just bring everything flooding back. But hey, does anyone else actually remember that back at the very beginning, Van Basten wasn't even part of the starting eleven? I mean, if my memory serves me right, he wasn't exactly the immediate centerpiece they expected him to be right out of the gate.

In those classic red and blue colors, Ronaldo was easily the best striker of the last decade—at least if you ask me. After that, his career kind of went sideways with all those injuries and groin issues; I mean, he’s still a great player today, but he doesn't even come close to the version of Ronaldo we saw back then.

And honestly, that might have been the last Real Madrid squad that I actually enjoyed watching. I think it was mainly because of Davor Šuker and Predrag Mijatović. This whole modern era where they're chasing status with a supermodel like David Beckham... it's honestly a bit nauseating to watch.

If you ask me, Real Madrid is turning their squad into a total circus, but hey—my buddy Beckham has sold millions of jerseys, and at $50 a pop, you can see where the money is. But I have to agree with the previous poster; the whole thing feels pretty distasteful. Between this "Beckhammania," the tours over in the East, the photo shoots, and the fashion shows—all while they barely managed to qualify for the Champions League last year—it's a mess. I guess they were just too enamored with Vicente del Bosque's look, so they kept pushing him forward regardless of what was happening on the pitch.

Wow, someone's being a bit harsh! 🙂

Well...

I honestly feel like the movie would have turned out pretty ridiculous if Milla had played the part any differently—it just wouldn't have had that certain feeling.

And maybe you (and Marat) are finding it boring because—well, perhaps you just aren't into world history, or deeper themes don't really grab you.
😉

Look, I love world history and deep themes, but this specific film—and Milla as an actress—is just total garbage!

The movie was just... okay, I guess? It wasn't exactly a masterpiece, but it wasn't a total disaster either—it kind of just exists in that middle ground. My main issue, though, was that the ending felt incredibly vague—like, did anyone else feel totally left hanging? Everyone just sort of wanders off in their own direction at the end. You’ve got George and Bjelogrlićen heading one way, while the wife heads off with her Diet Coke... It leaves you wondering—did they actually break up, or is there more to the story? I honestly can't tell.
I remember seeing this movie in theaters—I’m pretty sure I saw the poster hanging up weeks before, and honestly, I was kind of hyped for it when I was a kid. I mean, you’ve got Luc Besson directing, plus a cast featuring Dustin Hoffman, John Malkovich, and Vincent Cassel... it sounds like absolute perfection on paper. But then there's Milla Jovovich. To me, she’s just a disastrous actress; she plays the exact same role in every single one of her films (just constant yelling, overacting, and total nonsense). Honestly, if people are actually watching movies just because she's in them, they should just buy some posters of her to drool over instead—let her stay far away from the big screen, because clearly, acting just isn't her thing.

Ronaldinho was absolutely phenomenal during the second half of the season—just incredible to watch—but unfortunately, FC Barcelona didn't manage to take home any silverware (it’s such a shame, really, since they finally found their rhythm so late in the campaign), so I'm not entirely convinced. As for Thierry Henry, I've never been his biggest fan, but I have to admit he seemed virtually unstoppable against Arsenal FC last season. Though, if I'm being honest, I think he might have actually been better off staying away from the national team altogether.

If anyone happens to have missed out on hearing the letter from Motörhead, you really ought to track it down—it’s an absolute must. It’s probably the single best piece of writing that truly captures who they were.
