Seeking forgiveness in Psychology & Therapy ·
I’m no saint who’s going to hand out forgiveness to every person on the street. In my view, people ought to live with the consequences of their own actions. If that means you never speak to them again—fine by me.

Figure out what actually helps you move on—whether it's an apology from them or some form of restitution... then tell that person exactly what they need to do. Let them make it right. If they refuse? Cut them loose. It’s that simple.
How do you deal with boomers attacking you on a forum? in Psychology & Therapy ·
There are miserable, frustrated women out there in the real world, and they show up here too. If anything, they're three times worse online because there’s zero accountability or consequences, whereas in person, they have to swallow their pride.
Just ignore them. Don't even bother trying to explain yourself; it's a waste of breath. Just ignore them and move on. If you run into one in real life, give them a slap to snap them back to reality and keep moving. 🙂It's easy to act tough behind a screen. They're all just pathetic losers—keep that in mind!
Is it wrong to ignore someone else's misfortune? in Psychology & Therapy ·
There isn't a single mention of her asking for help or her brothers turning her away!

She’s the one responsible, not her brothers. They didn't force her into this marriage; she chose an idiot herself.

Perhaps the real question is this: what are we supposed to think about a woman who just stands there and lets her husband beat her?

She is responsible for her own life, not her brothers.
It was on her to reach out to them or find a husband; it wasn't their job to fix her mess.
I am certain any one of them would have opened their door to her.

People love to dump their responsibilities onto others. SHE IS RESPONSIBLE.

So you’re actually asking if you’re truly that awful and if they’re just playing nice to let you off the hook. How cute.
No, it doesn't have to be a free pass, but it certainly could be. We're back to the same point—the issue is you. No matter how you spin it, you're the one who has to fix it. And you won't fix anything until you admit it exists. I can't hand you the solution.

Upbeat music is the only way to go for weddings. A good bluegrass band hits the spot, regardless of what they're singing about!

Thanks for the suggestion on the instrumentals—I’ve definitely been noticing that lately too!

Crossing two trees won't magically produce a bonsai, for crying out loud. 🙂

I don't think it's about two losers pairing up—it's about their obsession with "growth." Any combination can work if the drive is there. It’s the hunger for change that matters, not who they teamed up with... get it?

Nova, I’m talking about some statistics I heard from a psychoanalyst—one of the heavy hitters in the field and one of the few practitioners actually operating in the US. I don't know what kind of methodology he used 🙂 but I'm convinced there's a way to distinguish someone who just dresses weirdly and wears piercings from an actual psychiatric case. :-)

I suspect the root issue lies within that first "standard" relationship. Something went wrong there; look for the cause in that wreckage. Did she walk out on you? Why?

The "normal" crowd makes up maybe 20% of the population at most.🙂 The statistics back me up on that.

As for harming infants or children—hell no. I’m sane. I would never do something like that.

When I say someone is messed up, I mean truly, deeply messed up. I'm not talking about a "rough patch." A phase is just a PHASE; it isn't being fundamentally broken.
Maybe my point is clearer now...

p.s.
To all the broken people trying to guilt-trip me because I won't help them: I've adopted a simple rule. I AM YOUR FRIEND, NOT YOUR PSYCHIATRIST. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. IF YOU NEED A PROFESSIONAL, GO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST. STOP EXPECTING ME TO PLAY THE ROLE. I DON'T HAVE THE TRAINING, AND I CERTAINLY DON'T GET PAID FOR IT. EVEN IF I WERE QUALIFIED, I wouldn't listen to this nonsense every single day for any amount of money. I have a right to my own life and my own choices. I don't demand you act as my therapist, and you can't demand the same from me.

Hmm, should I just put that in my email signature as an auto-reply?🙂

Honestly, I don't know. Maybe two broken people actually trying to fix themselves can make it work. Perhaps. They just have to admit they're a mess and truly want to stop being one. Ugh. You've given me something to chew on.

People who actually want to work on themselves aren't going to pick some broken individual. They’ll choose someone healthy. And they'll be lucky if that healthy person is willing to put up with them and wait it out. Personally, I wouldn't 🙂

You're picking disasters on purpose because you're a mess yourself. You lack the maturity and the guts to handle a healthy, strong relationship—the kind that actually requires blood, sweat, and tears. So, you use that as an excuse. Been there, seen it all. :-)))

It’s the same pattern with my friend; she only goes for married men, while another friend picks "needy" guys just so she can play mommy instead of being a partner. It all starts within us—it's our own internal universe—and that's where you have to begin.

Stop asking why these women are broken. Instead, ask yourself which part of you is broken and what you need to fix to stop choosing chaos over stability.

Sorry, I'm just giving it to you straight, but that's the bottom line. :-)
Did I go too far? Weight loss journey in Health ·
To lose one pound, you need a 3,500 calorie deficit. Do the math.

It’s not a disaster. If you’re actually worried, bump it up to 1,800 calories. Once the weight loss stalls, drop it back down to 1,500. You won't die, so stop stressing.
Super dry hands and palms - any advice? in Health ·
You’re clearly lacking Vitamin A. Go to a CVS, pick up some AD drops, and take 2-3 drops daily for about 3 or 4 weeks. Don't go overboard—you don't want to overdose, alright?

Creams won't cut it. You need the drops.
