Moving chat threads from US to Offtopic in Feedback & Suggestions ·
brightridge59 said:Do you really think the other people joining the US isn't lonely?
And is the chat truly the best or only way to meet and socialize?

The whole intention here is to make the subforum a much more constructive environment.
Chatting happens everywhere, practically within almost every thread, provided it contributes to a productive discussion. That's a perfectly normal occurrence, and frankly, we even encourage it ourselves. 😬

Have you perhaps had a chance to look over the rules? There's a reason why someone might get a warning just for posting a single smiley face or for putting something in their 'signature.'

For those users who have become close friends through chatting, there is a dedicated subforum where they can continue to socialize. There's also private messaging. There are all sorts of ways to build connections without it being solely about padding your post count.

Besides, the way things are set up, it encourages users to step outside their specific chat topics and wander over to other subforums. I won't even mention how peculiar it is to see people who NEVER post anywhere else except within a specific chat topic on one particular subforum. 🙄

Since you guys nuked all the chats on the US, why don't you be a dear and explain how you expect lonely people to actually connect and hang out—you think they're gonna do it via satellite or something?🙄

Arthur Thomas said:I don't want to clutter things up by starting a whole new thread, but I honestly feel like the "no-nonsense" topic should just be moved over to the Offtopic PDF. There’s way more spam going on there than in the chat thread anyway. 🙂

I guess they just didn't like him or he somehow rubbed them the wrong way. 😉

It’s obvious why Brandon Castillo4 is voting for DiK since he hasn't even been reading the chat, so I get it, but you were actually hanging out in the chat and saw all the stuff we were doing to help people out, so do you honestly think things are gonna be different over on Offtopic?
By attacking the chat, you're just killing the soul you helped build.
You guys already killed thirty different chats, but everyone just ended up migrating over to Prst anyway.
The US seriously needs a chat and a place to hang out, because you think people only come online to whine?

Austin Chavez6 said:So what's actually wrong here? Do you even realize how boring those meetups were? There weren't even enough to equal all the other forum chats combined. People travel from miles away just to meet up. Now tell me the chat isn't fulfilling its purpose.

🙏

As if the moderators actually give a damn, they just view everything as some random chat garbage while they run wild without even having a single thing agreed upon among themselves. 😉

Brandon Castillo4 said:Look, I’m all for moving these threads around, but let’s not dump them into Offtopic. People here are actually building connections, they aren't just posting random nonsense. In my book, they belong over in DiK. That's my call.

Brandon Castillo4, you really should've been on the chat when we were out there actually supporting people, helping them through their stuff, breaking the ice, and getting everyone to hang out and join the crew.
We tackled a ton of heavy, serious topics, but then the second we tried to clear out the spam, everything got shut down because some people couldn't stop whining and acting salty.

mistywolf17, you clearly haven't even bothered to read the Finger of Fate chat, which handled way more heavy-hitting topics than USPSD ever could (and I don't have anything against USPSD, for the record).
And all this talk about someone getting kicked out is just nonsense; the whole point of the chat was for people to hang out, and if someone wanted to avoid that, they had plenty of other chats to jump into, besides, we were just kicking out spammers, so what's the big deal?

But even a total idiot like Mujo can see that this is nothing more than a blatant display of moderator power since you guys have zero intention or desire to actually "fix" the chat back to how it was originally meant to be.

mistywolf17 Look, we’re all on board with getting this chat back to its original purpose, so why are you guys already throwing in the towel on our and your chat?

I’m jumping on the bandwagon with Gregory Garcia here—someone needs to explain what's going on.
The whole point of the US chat Finger of Fate was to give everyone on this forum a way to actually talk and get to know each other, which happens all the time, and honestly, isn't that exactly why the US and this specific chat even exist?
It feels like you completely missed the entire point of Kevin's original post when he first opened this thread up.
First off, we’ve gotta realize that today’s standards on body weight are completely backwards because people are out here calling a totally normal, curvy figure "overweight."
But when we're talking actual obesity, what Angela Wright is saying is pretty damn interesting.

I'm totally on board with that—you absolutely have to get your hormones checked, especially your thyroid levels.
MSCT scan in Health ·
George Rodriguez14 said:I couldn't agree more—though, I suppose the surgeon who would be performing the operation tends to favor a CT over an MRI. Does anyone know where one can get an MRI done most quickly? And what kind of price are we looking at if you go through a private clinic rather than using insurance?

Then just switch doctors already.
I'm pretty sure you'll get seen quickest at Quest Diagnostics, though even then you're looking at about a 4-month wait if you're relying on insurance, just like mistyjackal842 mentioned.
MSCT scan in Health ·
George Rodriguez14 said:Greetings to everyone on the forum—I am reaching out because I could really use some advice! I have a complex elbow fracture, and the surgeon who would be performing my procedure is requesting an MSCT (specifically on a CD). Well, that’s where things start going sideways. Before my actual consultation with the specialist, the orthopedic doctor sent me off for the MSCT; I went through with it, but all I walked away with was a photo gallery of images on film—kind of like an old-school X-ray—rather than the digital CD. To make matters worse, when I went back to the facility six or seven days later to request the disc, they told me they don't even have my scan on file anymore?! Apparently, due to some technical glitch, the imaging was wiped from their hard drive. So, here is my dilemma:
What should I do now, considering I just had this scan done (and have already absorbed a non-negligible dose of radiation regarding my health), and should I actually go through with repeating it? And if I do, how much of a risk is it really?

It's incredibly harmful and you absolutely shouldn't be hitting that much intense radiation again anytime soon, especially since doctors barely even recommend CT scans for younger people anyway; an MRI is a way better choice, so if you're forced to redo the imaging, demand they give you a Magn. instead.
That Facebook link you posted is busted, it won't even load 🤷

Has anyone here actually dealt with Dr. Eškinja over at the Mayo Clinic?

Can I book a private consultation with him, or is he strictly hospital-only? (assuming I'll be stuck on a waiting list for at least two months anyway 🙄 )

In Miami, you’re looking at a month-long wait just to get seen at Quest Diagnostics—but I guess that kind of reality is probably lightyears away from your world.

Chiropractor before emergency surgery??? in Health ·
Stay far away from those chiropractors.

Surgery should always be your absolute last resort because let's be real, failed surgeries and relapses happen way more often than people care to admit.

Trust me, you aren't the only one out there dealing with an extrusion that massive.

I am totally on the same page as Casey Palmer5—getting some solid physical therapy from actual pros can make a world of difference.

Neosporin actually did a decent job for me, though I know plenty of people swear it’s total garbage. 🤷
What does these results mean? in Health ·
Lawrence Bishop34 said:So I see it's slightly elevated. I've read a bit about this, but nothing is clicking quite yet. Doesn't matter, though—I'll just wait until my doctor gets back to me.
Can an ultrasound report actually be compared to these lab results?

The doc is gonna decide if they want to toss a tiny dose of Synthroid your way. 🤷

An ultrasound and hormone levels don't have to match up at all; even when my hormones were through the roof, my ultrasound looked totally normal.
