silentdriver12 said:this whole idea of listing five performers is a bit of a stretch. do people actually believe they read all that? besides—from my own reliable sources—they already know who's hitting the stage. they just told me to grab a ticket because it’s going to be an interesting ride😁 and there might be some hype building for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2009
so what does that mean—are we looking at another Bud Light metal stage??
The price was sitting right there this time last year, $130 before it eventually climbed to 440. This year, though, they’ve officially dropped the price at $163. It isn't a bad deal, I suppose—though that all depends on what else gets confirmed down the line. Generally speaking, you just grab it immediately 😁
We’ll be posting the exact ticket launch date this coming Monday, January 31st.
Full festival passes (covers both days):
* $130 until April 14th ($113 includes a discount for Verizon customers) * $147 April 15th – June 21st ($130 includes a discount for Verizon customers)
Single-day tickets (June 21st or 22nd):
Single-day passes will be sold exclusively at the festival box office during the event—one flat rate of $117. Camping passes:
* $50
Discounts and perks:
• Verizon customers can grab a $17 discount by reserving via text (just send a blank message to 2255). You'll need to show the confirmation text when you actually buy the ticket.
*The Verizon discount applies strictly to full festival passes—it won't work for camping or single-day tickets.
• High school and college students—regardless of their carrier—can snag a pass for $97 during the promotional window ending April 14th, or whenever we run out. Supplies are limited. Students just need to show a photo ID and school enrollment proof (or a student ID/transcript) to get the $97 rate.
Unbelievable. They just dropped an Arcade Fire video on the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival Facebook page—claiming more news is coming soon 🙂 . Apparently, their MySpace confirmed it too 🙂 . So, we can probably expect some updates regarding tickets—and naturally, the first headliner announcement—by tomorrow. Hopefully.
Nicholas Ruiz72 said:But even at $300, you still had that T-Mobile discount from $17—which was basically available to anyone, really. They aren't doing that this year. 😢
$100 / Nov 15 – Dec 31, 2009, or until supplies run out $130 / Feb 01 – Mar 17, 2010 ...
That was the setup last year. This time, though—I have a nagging feeling we won't see those budget tickets at all; they'll probably just jump straight to the premium pricing. I'm still holding out hope for a student discount, though.
Rebecca Lee said:It seems a bit premature for them to show up again right after they were already 😁—it hasn't even been a full year. Although, they're touring through Europe in June and have a gap between the 18th and the 30th. 🤷
Sony Music is known for recycling acts that have already played in the States—so it wouldn't be shocking if this happens again this year. Still, expecting names like Metallica, Rammstein, or Bruce Springsteen to headline a festival like this is a stretch. Personally, I think even the Foo Fighters are overpriced.
Rebecca Lee said:it’s great news—assuming it's actually true—for the Foo Fighters and Fatboy Slim, both of which I unfortunately missed last year. At least we got Soundgarden; I'll take my wins where I can get them. 😁😁
edit: someone on the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival wishlist put down Rammstein... how? yes and no. 😁 there are plenty of people more capable than us here, haha.
Please—people aren't being realistic at all. They don't think. I've seen Metallica and Bruce Springsteen mentioned, along with all sorts of bands that have zero chance of playing Coachella. The Foo Fighters come up a lot, but honestly, they're probably too expensive for a festival like this.
